    "“When joined with foreknowledge, this will neither subverts nor destroys natures, but works in them so that it agrees with them. Therefore, since the nature and property of the human will is to work freely and by choice, God’s foreknowledge and will do not take this power or faculty from it, although his predestination is the cause of all good acts done by the elect and in the elect." - Vermigli

    Es increíble como Dios usaba las borlas de los sit sit para recordar a su pueblo la obediencia, nunca hubiese imaginado el significado de las borlas que usaban los judíos, yo lo hubiese visto como un bonito adorno que ellos llevaban.

    I believe the Bible teaches God gives us the faith so we can obey without violating our will. I believe in Reformed Theology because Paul and Luke and others speak from God and teach it clearly. Acts 13:38 "As many as were appointed to eternal life believed".
    My dear brother and friend, is it possible that you don't understand Calvinism? When explaining a belief system that we don’t agree with It’s best to describe it in a way that they would.
    Is your description in the video as a true Calvinist would describe their belief?

      Hi, Dave, thank you so much for your comment. The appointment to eternal life is based on the foreknowledge of God. God knew before who would get eternal life. And so, obviously, they would believe. But it was not a surprise to God.
      How did you come to the conclusion that God gives the faith?
      I grew up in the Reformed Church and went to the biggest Calvinist School in Holland. We also had to memorize the entire Heidelberg Cathechism and then I spoke with hundreds of Calvinists. And of course, I was born 10 minutes from where they made those TULIP rules.
      I do really agree that I should represent Calvinism as they would represent Calvinism. It's a bit more difficult, because, there are so many types of Calvinists. I basically base my definition on the five points of calvinism, i.e. TULIP., or the articles of faith from Dordrecht. You would be totally different than most of the Dutch Calvinists that I know. I even met a Calvinist one time, who claimed to be a 3 1/2 point Calvinist.... I was in a rush, so I don't know which point was just the 1/2 point.... But I certainly don't want to make a strawman argument. I certainly agree with that. What particular thing did I misrepresent?

    the problem i have with abandoning calvinism is the alternative ---- you would be asking me to believe in arminianism
    that's even worse!!
    (( ps... i think you are mischaracterizing calvinism/reformed theology - i don't think you understand it ))

      Actually, the alternative to calvinism isn't arminianism. I'm neither. I grew up in the midst of all of this. I was born 10 minutes away from where they made those TULIP rules. I went to the biggest best known Reformed School in Holland. I memorized the Heidelberg cathechism.... I'm not an arminianist, nor a calvinist. I believe the Bible. And It doesn't teach either one of these. I don't remember actually ever meeting an arminiast. And I've been to Oudewater, where Jacobus Arminius was born.... Oh, and I grew up in the Dutch Reformed church.... We left it, when it joined the world counsel of churches.... (very ecumenical).

      Both systems are very similar when you understand they both demand good works to either stay or prove you’re saved. Now I even hear about ‘initial’ and ‘final’ salvation from Calvinist circles. Sounds like a road back to Rome.

      @@krisjustin3884 Yes, that's very true. You got great insight there. In many ways the Protestant churches are similar to the Catholic churches, if one evaluates the doctrine closely. But then what makes it a bit complicated is that there are many types of calvinist churches. I spoke in one church in Tampa, where the pastor was a calvinist, but he would never teach about it and it was a bit of a secret....

    Jesus said that no one can come to Him if the Father who send Him draws Him. He repeats it again in John 6 were Jesus said that no one can come to Him unless the Father permits or allows it. Jesus also said that it's the Spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no use. All the teaching of Jesus Christ. Why do these heretics ignore the teaching of Christ?

    • @TheKeesBoerMinistryChannel
      @TheKeesBoerMinistryChannel  4 месяца назад

      Hi, Thank you for your comments. I really sincerely appreciate them. Yes, Jesus did say that in John 6. Obviously It is true. The questions there are: "Who gets drawn by God?" "What does it mean to be drawn by God?" So, yes, the Spirit regenerates... "When does that happen?" I got several other videos on that. So, obviously I'm not ignoring that, but those issues are clearly addressed in the Scriptures. Here is a video of about five minutes about being drawn by God.
