Despite the less than glowing comments, I for one would love this. Respect to the entire team - the theatre, the cuisine and the messages connecting the diner with just some of the problems we ignore - sustainability, welfare et al. It’s amazing. Love it.

I'm always leery of restaurants like Alchemist where the chef or owners stated purpose centers around the "need" to "educate" diners on their pet cause or agenda. Iris is an example of heavy handed and preachy, while Central in Peru is an example of perfectly balancing informing people of an area and its traditions while emphasizing the need to preserve both. From this video, it seems as though Alchemist is managing to balance those aspects fairly well. While there were some moments that had me rolling my eyes a bit, over all the creativity, execution, and attention to detail looks spot on and chef is clearly passionate, creative, and immensely talented. While also having the business wherewithal to hire the best staff he can. I have to echo Alexander's sentiment by asking why Alchemist has not yet received its third Michelin star. Very well-presented sir and I love that you've left so much of the experience out of the video so that anyone who goes will still be amazed and delighted by the full dining experience. Michelin only judges on food. They have stated that they also observe other factors to help achieve consistency. As much as I appreciate that the point of this experience is to create an impact over perfection, each dish is its narrative, and a denouement would be challenging, as every diner would have their takeaway. These aspects lay beyond Michelin's focus, which is food-centric. It is remarkable to achieve 2 stars for that many courses, that many people, that often and have everything else in play. I believe it would be better to think of this as a production of a very creative mind, where food is part of it, but not its dominant feature. Michelin's focus is food; what they are doing lies beyond that.
Me and my coworker's went there from Finland last year after planning for almost a year. It's definitely worth a special trip. The ONLY thing we didn't enjoy was the duck throat "impression", I was surprised to see it's still on the menu😂😂
Good to see you back, Alexander! This place (I don't think you can even call it a restaurant) for me crossed the line into something I don't think I'd enjoy as much as most other 2 or 3* places. It's definitely memorable (perhaps even unique) and I see the appeal but it's too much moving around, too long, and a little too heavy handed with some of its 'ideas' for me. Maybe one day.
I think you need to watch the movie titled "The Menu" and let me know if you think it resembles this. It is eerily similar and wouldn't want to see this chefs final performance either after reading all the comments on this video
Couldn't agree more about the Michelin guide. I've been to a few three and two star restaurants, plenty of one star restaurants and plenty of non starred fine dining restaurants. The only thing I have noticed to be consistently higher about the three and two stars is the price. My favourite and most memorable food has been enjoyed at one star and no star restaurants. I strongly suspect that the Michelin guide is not impartial and gives out the highest awards to its friends or who is most fashionable at the time.
I've seen other channels cover this restaurant but never with so much detail and access, this was absolutely fantastic - although its a little funny that serving poor people apparently made him want to open this crazy expensive and time-consuming restaurant that by default will be inaccessible to the majority of people. I get that it's probably fairly priced it's just a weird story to tell as an inspiration point for this restaurant.
Nah you didn't get the point. He got far more reaction from the poor people than from the people eating at his restaurant so he wanted to change his concept to get similar reactions in his restaurant.
It's incredible that Rasmus keeps going the way he does, he's already had three blood clots, which is probably why he focused a lot on organ donors and such issues earlier. It's wild to think two of my cousins were in the same class as him growing up.

Sommeliers will often change wines or give extra tastings if you get talking to them and show an interest. This has happened many times to my wife and I in restaurants and in cellar doors. Fantastic video. What an incredible experience and truly appreciate your ability to engage and bring us along for the journey. I am still stunned at the amount of production that has to go on every single day. Chef and his team are absolute workhorses. Thanks for yet another great story and look into their world. ❤❤❤
I really felt the attention and mindfulness of Nina. Incredible!
the most enjoyable food review channel yet!!keep up the magical and good work 🎉
This place looks amazing! What an experience it looks! Wow!🥂👏🏼
Going in a month so contemplated not watching this one but now I'm probably more hyped!
Same here. Will visit end of February. Tempted to watch but i won’t
@@re-cocoI think you need to watch the movie titled "The Menu" and let me know if you think it resembles this.
Yes!!! Thank you for sharing your experience, it really helps young aspiring cooks like me!
Been there 2 times, and truly the best experience i've tried.
I absolutely love your reviews!
Wow, what a cool place! Amazing story from the chef. This would be a truly unforgettable journey
Great work as usual. Still can't believe you only have 203K subscribers. Love and light from Laos!
Sommeliers will often change wines or give extra tastings if you get talking to them and show an interest. This has happened many times to my wife and I in restaurants and in cellar doors. You don’t have to be rich or act like you know what you’re talking about.. just be nice and they will share their passion.
That looked amazing. When they say, buy experiences not things, this is what I think of.
You were absolutely right. This is one badass man that certainly leads by example. LOVE how he effected his local community, and now me :o
Didn't expect to see panipuri 😂😂
Your presentation is excellent, you are a talented communicator. The only thing, seeing all this makes me feel like I haven't lived.
It is my dream one day to afford this experience🤞
If Alexander McQueen was a chef..
Super stoked! We want more convenient!! 😊
Will you ever cover Bib Gourmand restaurants? Id be interested to see them since I didn’t have Michelin star money.
Alchemist, a place when last meal is YOU.
I like your channel thank you for showing us how the most pretentious people on earth spend their time.
WOW.. Just WOW... also thank you Alexander for showing us the world of beautiful and amazing gastronomy... Many of us (including myself) would not be able to afford any of these beautiful and mind blowing cuisine but we were able to vicariously enjoy them through you..
An everyday normal meal at French Laundry will run you over $1000 per person and that's without any wine.
Amazing food ideas but I would never pay that much to have my dinner preach to me.
This only makes me think of the movie the menu. Creepy
I was there under corona, and its still the best dining experience i have ever had
Only 2 stars, because of the high price. Micheline also rates the price compared to what you get.
Alchemist reminds me of “The Menu” movie, but in a good way, i think it is worth the money, it’s not just eating foood here, it’s enjoying an artistic journey
Glad you're back, man.
It’s the best dinner i ever had in my life. Nothing will ever come close to it.
The wine Celler is amazing!!!
I was this days old when I learned freeze dried butterflies don’t taste like anything.
Chef Rasmus Munk invites his guest to fully palate commit.
So many chapters after the commitment and the value.
Not sure of a comparable experience in North America.
what I don´t understand is only a little more than 200k subscribers. I love your channel
I wish I could try something like this…but I know deep down I’m too picky of a eater to enjoy many of the meals.
