  • After I bought this off-road book I decided to go on a few 4wd trails. I have a large stock 4x4 SUV (Cadillac Escalade). I have went on many fire roads without any problems. This was the 1st time I stepped it up and went on one of the trails from the book. Plus at the end of the video I rescued a lady by towing her out of the snow next to the mountain.

    Thanks for recording your adventure and being a good Samaritan. I too own a 4x4 but have not taken it off road though would love to. At least now I know what to expect.

      Thanks for watching and I appreciate you taking time to leave me a comment. It took me a long time to use my 4x4 so I understand. Thanks.

    Love it, it's awesome to see folks take vehicles where they were never made to go. Well done.

      I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I appreciate you watching. Last year was the first year I started going off-road. All this time I had a 4x4 and didn't use it. If you ever decide to go off-roading just remember, take it easy, go slow, always do your best to be safe, go with others and have fun taking in the scenery. Thanks again.

    Love my 2000 escalade, picked it up with only 120k miles for $3k in pretty good shape (just minor nit-picks cosmetically/mechanically). Everything from the 6 disk player to lcd TV and heated front/back seats works. She just got new all-terrains today, and the suspension is getting a "lift" 😉

      Whoa I thought I got a good deal for my 02 with the 6l awd but 220k at 3k. Nice job!

      @pgbpro20 to be fair tho I have a 350 small block in mine and you got the famous 6.0L. I've had spun alot of wrenches and turned alot of bolts on this thing. Just got all new rear drum brake rebuilds after a wheel cylinder failed today... Gonna convert the rears to disc next summer. I hate drum brakes 😩

    When I used to live in Chicago my friends and I Would drive around during snowstorms pulling people out of ditches for fun. Towing companies hated us lol. I would drive a 2000 Yukon Denali and later on a Lexus LX470. Both great snow vehicles.

      I bet the people you pulled out of ditches loved you. That means that you and your buddy must be some good people helping like that. That's what I love about RUclips people always sharing stories. Thanks for watching appreciate the comment. You guys have a good one.

    couldn't help but press like when I see 12:53, good deed of the day.
    you should also install a towing winch (to winch the tree )at the front of you're stuck in any places.

    that's a first Gen escalade with 4hi and 4low options. try that with a 02 til 14 escalade which are only awd, the newest ones have the option again but at 80grand who's using them

    • @oxmanagain
      @oxmanagain  8 лет назад +8

      haha I know and I love the 4hi and 4low, I don't like the awd and I don't have 80k

      i owned a 2004, 2009, and 2016, and while the AWD ones never left me stuck in the sand, the new 4hi and 4lo t case in the 2016 is a monster especially with the locking rear diff. Gets me out of most mud and up small to moderate rock terrain. On the stock 22s no less

      +dufonrafal oh I definitely will, Off-roading is a lot more fun than I thought it was. I've been on a couple more trails I just didn't record them because for the majority of the time I'm by myself. But since then I have purchased more cameras. I appreciate you watching and thanks for the comments.

    They can't do that anymore. Too many things underneath that can break. Like the air lines. AWD transfer chain. Frint diff. Its officially a soccer mom that doesnt want a van truck.

      Idk what you talking bout. I've got 4 high and 4 low on my 2018. They've had 4x4 again since like 2015. The previous models were AWD. I never got stuck with those either on ice, snow, or dirt trails and mountains.

    I thought I was nuts trying to make my 2006 escalade ESV to off-road, I made a photoshop rendering of what I might look like and I can’t wait to make it happen, any tips on what keep in mind besides mud tires, a lift, metal bumpers, winch and lights, after this what else do I need?

    • @oxmanagain
      @oxmanagain  5 лет назад

      Haha, I would say take your time drive slow and always drive up and down in a straight line. Let me know how it turns out.

    • @oxmanagain
      @oxmanagain  7 лет назад

      Yeah not to many people do. On the first generation of Escalades 1999-2000 a few that had barn doors. www.google.com/search?q=2000+cadillac+escalade+rear+door&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj54drQvLnUAhUHWSYKHShJCg8Q_AUIDCgD&biw=1745&bih=864#imgrc=MgogWZGpB0KFuM:
