  • Evan and Josh take the big girls all the way through the Rubicon Trail and pop out on the Tahoe side. Watch as they get snowed on the first night (Matt grossly underprepared) and have the Spring’s completely to them selves for two nights.
This trip was taken on the first weekend of October. As we upload this video today 10/19, the trail is now completely covered in snow. Take that in mind when planning your trip to the con.
We were lucky enough to get awesome weather for 2 of the 3 days.
You can do the trail in one day if your don’t stop a lot and have no major breaks. Most people do 2 day trips and camp at Buck island or the springs. We chose to do a 3 day trip and had one day to fish, hike, relax chill at the springs.
Both trucks took very minimal body damage and performed great with no issues. This was Big Josh’s first trip out with the Caddy AKA Baller Crawler and he was stoked on how well
It did. Big Shout out to our buddies at ‪@wfoconcepts‬ for a kick ass build.

That lifted escalade is amazing. I have a 2016 model for my wife. It's stock except for the train horn and an LED bar stuffed inside the lower opening of the front fascia.
I would love to get my hands on an older model escalade like this one because the center console comes right out and I would put a manual transmission in there, lift it and play with it.

Nice to see that you can rock crawl a tahoe, I have an 01 LT model with a 6 inch lift and 35s. But I wanna go with a 9 inch lift and make it a baja truck.

I'm surprised those long wheelbased trucks aren't hanging up all the time.
I own an '08 Escalade ESV awd I want to upgrade for offroading . I've crawled the Rubicon in a Jeep CJ 7 and that trail gets really tight in some places where I wouldn't think a full size truck would make itthrough.

The look super capable crawling, my only concern with switching from IFS would be highway cruising at 80 mph. Would every little bump on the highway get transferred to the cab? Those heim joints while strong would transmit every little noise into the cabin. Which is fine for what it is, these are tradeoffs, I'm just looking for some tips on how to get the maximum gain in crawling and least loss of on highway comfort. For me to hit the trails in Utah I have to do a 1300 mile road trip before I reach the trail head, thats why I ask. Could I use an insulated join instead of heims? Could I use a lighter axle to improve on road handling?

With good shock tunning it'll be fine. I reccomend liberty mountain fabrication or action axle.
