I created an animated series called My Girlfriend Wants To Kill Me. It's a Psychological thriller. The first two seasons are on my RUclips channel. I've also created another animated series called Her Blood On My Hands. It's a ton of creative work and so many don't understand the time that's put into them. I've learned that when I release one episode a month it allows me no burnouts.
I'm so glad I found this channel, I've been hoping to make an animated series called "Elemental". Unfortunately I'm only 14 and I've only just begun learning to use a drawing tablet. These vides however are really helping me out.
How2 Plan Your Animated Series: 1) Experiment: Develop a workflow that works for your current situation. 2) Be Realistic: Don't overwork yourself and make sure to implement breaks in your schedule. 3) Overcome Obstacles: Work through your troublesome artist moments to meet your schedule requirements and boost your confidence in your abilities. I’ve been practicing animation for 2 years (it took that long because I’m self taught) And now I’m starting to plan out what I want, after planning I’m gonna sketch out what I want in my notebook. This may take months, or even a whole year, so patience is key. Break up your animation schedule, if you’re tired, take a break. Because if you’re tired it’s not gonna look good. Story board is especially important. Make sure you know what you want and how you want it.
How is your animation learning and creating the animated series coming along? I am new at animation, but I've been drawing for a while now and lately i got this idea to animate one (eventually more) of my stories i have written. Interested in learning more about the process 😃
I might have a little ‘odd’ schedule for my animated serie. It’s my big passion project and I decided to start with writing the entire script. I’m not joking, 50 pages for each episode completely written out and it took me approximately 17 months (I’m almost done). I varied my work by making some character sheets here and there and that schedule really worked for me. So excited to finally writing the end! Also it was really cool to see my comment on part 1 in this video. Keep up the good work👍
@@oscar8234 Would be way too early honestly. Animating didn’t go very well so I’m just making two books from it at the moment. Maybe someday a cartoon show with music, but I don’t see that happen very quickly😅

im the same i cant stop doubting myself. I wish that kind of stuff came naturally for me but even if the doubt is valid i think we just have to fight through it and work harder bc doubting is just what can hold us back from great outcomes
I'm working on an animated series , and so far , i thought i was good. I thought i was a genius. But after watching your videos , i realize i've did everything wrong ! I've never really planned anything ! Not even animatics or even storyboards. I've did 3 episodes of my show in 2 months , i was fustrated and rushed most of it. Looking back at it and i've just realised made a not really good series , it was full of errors , it didn't look good , it wasn't how i meant it to be , it wasn't even close to the actual "script". It was just a mess... And now , watching your videos explaining me how to plan it and how to do it , i feel like i need to improve alot. I got to thank you so much or else my stuff would keep being garbage. Oh btw i love your series , it's cool :3

If you want a software that is good to practice on, I recommend Krita. I draw frame by frame animations and the animation tools are better than photoshop. Krita isn't top-notch in the slightest, but you can organize and save presets, change timing, uses the same system as Premiere for home-End and page up and down keys, exports well, free forever, easy to open up and start, tons of help, and more. Plus Krita runs as well as your computer. Krita won't "limit your creativity" with a subscription. It is free and open-source. I would give it a shot. I know this kinda sounds like a commercial... it isn't. It is just a good starting place if you are stuck on ideas.
i just got done planning my animated series. its gonna be about three teens who have powers, one has ice powers, one can control rocks, and one can make anything that comes to his mind as long as its nonliving. anyways, this guy named Sinthos is their enemy, because Sinthos wants to take their powers away with his dark magic. I still haven't thought of a name for the series yet. the script for the first episode is in progress :)

I'm making an animated series, it's called, The Breadcrumb Diaries. I'm developing the early stages of the rough designs for my show. I've been working on it for months and I still have a long way to go. I'll admit I'm the first person to be hyper critical of my own work, especially when it comes to the art. I just tell myself that perfectionism is the killer of progress. I have to keep going. Thanks for posting another awesome and insightful video. A lot of things happened this year, but I'm still very much invested in creating an animated series. My biggest progress would have to be gathering a small team of voice actors to fill the roles.

Ever since I was little I loved stories and soon i started started creating my own stories in my head, I would design characters and build worlds around them but I knew I wasn’t the best at putting nice and neat sentences together so instead I decided to make them animated. Now this is funny bc I have zero animation experience but that’s okay bc I have plenty of time to learn. I just need to get all of my ideas down and organized and fantasizing about them in my head. :)
Im working on creating an anime and this is helping me out getting everything sorted, the name will be "prophecy of fire and ice" or "world of elements" but the main idea is a fantasy anime with a conflicting protagonist

Amazing video, this really inspired me! The thing is that for me the animating is the "easy" bit, the hard bit for me is creating a storyline. I tend to just rewrite it a thousand times until I get sick of the story and start to doubt the whole thing and want to start again and just throw the whole original concept away! Unfortunately I'm just incredibly bad at making storylines but I'm trying my best to keep working at it and maybe oneday I'll have one that I'm happy with.....
I watched this video back when it released and oh man I wasn’t ready, but now since I don’t really have anything else to tell my story, I want to use animation as an opportunity to tell my story, even if it’ll take years or a decade, just to make episode 1, since it’ll be worth it.
Im at the young age of 11 years old, i have been thinking of creating an animation named "My 7 Qualities Of Life" its kinda similar to the Inside Out movie though most of the characters are more of the main characters personality and not the emotions. Its based on my personality and everyday experiences. I just wanted to know if any problems were in the way before i had tried to create it. Though i am ambitious and will try to push myself to complete this goal, i will try my best to succeed my wanting. Thanks for advice! 🙂
The thing is, RUclipsrs make it look easy, but art takes alot of time so when your trying to make an animation, just remember how long it would take for somebody to make an animation that you might of watched for inspiration that you thought was good. That’s the mindset you need. I’m not necessarily good at animation, but I know alot of things that keep me going. Keep going, I believe in you.

Thanks so much that I’m able to see it. Since high-school I’ve been writing and plotting down all my characters so I know who to write about. And try getting back actually designing them, once I improve more of my art skills. And now college, am still writing it in a large notebook, thinking I’m doing it right but not. It’s basically a rough draft and then at the same time typing it like it’s another rough draft and I should have it shown. But in the other hand it has to improve whether I did it officially right. It’s like when im typing it up, seems as it’s a novel book, instead of a series where that’s my dream about: An animated series on Netflix. So, I really hope this will help me out for the better. I have been a story writer for a long time. I decided about a year and a half ago to move that to a 3D animated series. I can do 3D design , 3D printing, ect. Well rounded when it comes to audio effects, visual and other forms of media but I have never made an animated series. Let alone a 3D one. What a learning curve. Also, my fan fiction writings that I pined everything on was based around a video game from the 80's and was an amazing achievement at the time as it was the FIRST 3D animation game ever. Today it is a free flowing world with 5 Billion places to visit and discover. And I chose to make an animation based on that. Wow, what was I thinking. So , I crammed as much knowledge from what I already knew with a healthy dose of new softwares, (Various types) free 3D tools, ect, to get where I am now. I have a release date of 2021 and only started this 8 months ago. Wish me luck. AND thanks for a great video!
I'm currently working on cleaning up the script for a show I've been working on since 2017 (on and off, since I was in highschool at the time) about a duo of highschool theatre performers dealing with the mystery of the ghosts that haunt the theatre. These videos are really helpful as I'm getting into the later stages of planning. I think I've decided to go with something I can feasibly do on my own -- which is making it semi-animated, so like a webcomic, that's animated in places so it feels completely animated, but something I can realistically do.
My series started as a way for me to make my own stories but as both of us have gotten older and as I went through a really rocky time in my life recently it has become more of a vent for myself and my frustrations for the world. I recently looked back at the original notes and compared them to my recents and I was like “ damn that’s gotten dark over time..”. So yeah what I’m partially trying to say is allow space for change and twists in the story. You never know what can happen next. And your story will definitely develop or change as you progress. This year marks 4 years since I wrote the original notes and character/world concepts. Still haven’t gotten more than a minute or twos script done for the first ep and I haven’t even got any solid concepts other that writing.

Thank you so much for this!!!! As a novice animator who’s been animating for about a decade, I definitely have dreams of making my own animated series one day! However, I don’t feel I’m really at a point where I can safely (or at least, confidently) start a multi-episodic story driven cartoon. That being said, I’m not giving up on that dream! Instead, I’m working on smaller one off projects as animation tests and practice, and I have four main projects I’m planning on working on! Each one being a bit more challenging than the last! Currently, I’m just working on a compilation of stop-motion/2.5D/multimedia animation clips featuring me (or, my avatar) and one of my Autobot Bumblebee toys! It’s nothing too fancy in the grand scheme of things, but I am using this project to experiment with a new hybrid animation style, which obviously will make the project more difficult, but I got the first clip all done, so I’m working to get the rest all done hopefully by April! (I originally was pushing for March, but I’m not quite done yet!) But anyway, thanks again so much for this video!!!💖💖💖💖💖 I’m definitely coming back to it when I’m ready to make my original series!
This. I needed this. I plan to open my own production studio I’ll be sure to come to this video again. The crazy thing about my first series I have the characters I have the conflict but I don’t have the plot. I’m not sure how my main character should combat the antagonist... I avoided making side characters for my main character besides her mother because again I need the plot. No matter what this video has helped me to keep thinking. I have spent 4 years creating characters and plot, I’ve always wanted to make it a series. Watching this help me realize, it will take time, but if I have my story layed out,planned,and decided, then I will be able to make the series eventually
I want to make a animation because when I look at anime or anything animated makes me smile makes me happy gets me away from reality for a little while , so I wanted to make my own anime story to make other people happy make me happy because I love drawing so much and if people love seeing it and are happy and smile , that’s all I need in life 😊

I was thinking about making an animated short "tree of wonders" it's about three adventurers who go on adventures stacking up kindness points wich the tree of wonder lives on because the tree of wonders gives life to their village! So this really helped alot with scheduling and all
5:20 I'd like to add onto this by saying that whenever you're about to finish one scene make sure to already have planned a next fun one to do in order to look forward to it instead of taking a long break c: I for example animated this whole week for 10 seconds of movement - .- but next week I'm doing fun backgrounds :D

But I don’t have good platforms, have to deal with school and limited screen time. I suck at making good backgrounds and have really bad commitment issues. But I’m at least going to try. Even if I never get the first episode out I’ll still have the experience

This makes sense I kinda skipped the whole point of my animated series and just went straight ahead in making my characters on a piece of paper because I didn't want to forget what they looked like when I was done drawing my characters I got so frustrated and wished I had brain stormed on what the show should be called and what it was going to be about so I was thinking of starting over and just focus on my series name instead of jumping to the fun stuff. I’m creating a full on animated show on my channel. I’m 12, I‘ve already did the Pilot, first, and second episode. I’m shooting for 5 seasons, and 45 episodes in all. The rating is TV-14, and the genres are action, adventure, suspense, comedy, Sci-fi, and drama. I have almost all of the plots of each episode down, I have multiple unfinished storyboards, I’m currently at this moment of writing this working on my 3rd episode, and I still have to ask…how do you create an animated series/show?
This is where I struggle most in my projects. I have some form of ADHD so I put 40 hours into my current project in the last 5 days. Me watching this was me procrastinating to mitigate total burnout.
I am a game designer but I was in the mood for this because I spent the last 4 days getting a pipeline for a character model to animate into pixel art as I am not good enough at either to do it straight.

I’m trying to create pieces of different episodes so I can do a trailer but I have to wait because I didn’t copyright my characters yet.

I’m working on a show myself and just started story boarding! I do not know what it’s called yet but I love my concept so far and have been watching you videos as motivation to keep going! I’m gonna also try the schedule thing because I never really thought about that!

Ever since I was little I loved stories and soon i started started creating my own stories in my head, I would design characters and build worlds around them but I knew I wasn’t the best at putting nice and neat sentences together so instead I decided to make them animated. Now this is funny bc I have zero animation experience but that’s okay bc I have plenty of time to learn. I just need to get all of my ideas down and organized and fantasizing about them in my head. :)

Im working on creating an anime and this is helping me out getting everything sorted, the name will be "prophecy of fire and ice" or "world of elements" but the main idea is a fantasy anime with a conflicting protagonist

Amazing video, this really inspired me! The thing is that for me the animating is the "easy" bit, the hard bit for me is creating a storyline. I tend to just rewrite it a thousand times until I get sick of the story and start to doubt the whole thing and want to start again and just throw the whole original concept away! Unfortunately I'm just incredibly bad at making storylines but I'm trying my best to keep working at it and maybe oneday I'll have one that I'm happy with.....
I watched this video back when it released and oh man I wasn’t ready, but now since I don’t really have anything else to tell my story, I want to use animation as an opportunity to tell my story, even if it’ll take years or a decade, just to make episode 1, since it’ll be worth it.
Im at the young age of 11 years old, i have been thinking of creating an animation named "My 7 Qualities Of Life" its kinda similar to the Inside Out movie though most of the characters are more of the main characters personality and not the emotions. Its based on my personality and everyday experiences. I just wanted to know if any problems were in the way before i had tried to create it. Though i am ambitious and will try to push myself to complete this goal, i will try my best to succeed my wanting. Thanks for advice! 🙂

Thank you, I've enjoyed part one and two. I've been animating since 2015 and created my series, not giving up trying to make myself known.
The thing is, RUclipsrs make it look easy, but art takes alot of time so when your trying to make an animation, just remember how long it would take for somebody to make an animation that you might of watched for inspiration that you thought was good. That’s the mindset you need. I’m not necessarily good at animation, but I know alot of things that keep me going. Keep going, I believe in you.

Thanks so much that I’m able to see it. Since high-school I’ve been writing and plotting down all my characters so I know who to write about. And try getting back actually designing them, once I improve more of my art skills. And now college, am still writing it in a large notebook, thinking I’m doing it right but not. It’s basically a rough draft and then at the same time typing it like it’s another rough draft and I should have it shown. But in the other hand it has to improve whether I did it officially right. It’s like when im typing it up, seems as it’s a novel book, instead of a series where that’s my dream about: An animated series on Netflix. So, I really hope this will help me out for the better. I have been a story writer for a long time. I decided about a year and a half ago to move that to a 3D animated series. I can do 3D design , 3D printing, ect. Well rounded when it comes to audio effects, visual and other forms of media but I have never made an animated series. Let alone a 3D one. What a learning curve. Also, my fan fiction writings that I pined everything on was based around a video game from the 80's and was an amazing achievement at the time as it was the FIRST 3D animation game ever. Today it is a free flowing world with 5 Billion places to visit and discover. And I chose to make an animation based on that. Wow, what was I thinking. So , I crammed as much knowledge from what I already knew with a healthy dose of new softwares, (Various types) free 3D tools, ect, to get where I am now. I have a release date of 2021 and only started this 8 months ago. Wish me luck. AND thanks for a great video!

I'm currently working on cleaning up the script for a show I've been working on since 2017 (on and off, since I was in highschool at the time) about a duo of highschool theatre performers dealing with the mystery of the ghosts that haunt the theatre. These videos are really helpful as I'm getting into the later stages of planning. I think I've decided to go with something I can feasibly do on my own -- which is making it semi-animated, so like a webcomic, that's animated in places so it feels completely animated, but something I can realistically do.
Thank you your videos helped me to finally start doing SOMETHING related to animation and get up and actually work.
This really motivated me to start my animated series! I have casted some voice actors and I am nearly done with the first episode! I'm so excited!
This is encouraging, thank you! I've been wanting to learn how to animate for a long time and I'm finally starting to make plans to do it.
My series started as a way for me to make my own stories but as both of us have gotten older and as I went through a really rocky time in my life recently it has become more of a vent for myself and my frustrations for the world. I recently looked back at the original notes and compared them to my recents and I was like “ damn that’s gotten dark over time..”. So yeah what I’m partially trying to say is allow space for change and twists in the story. You never know what can happen next. And your story will definitely develop or change as you progress.
This year marks 4 years since I wrote the original notes and character/world concepts. Still haven’t gotten more than a minute or twos script done for the first ep and I haven’t even got any solid concepts other that writing.

I started watching this video and by the end of it, I realized I was sitting in front of laptop, ready to animate. Wow.
For most of my life I was drawing, I stopped after I realised I didn’t feel I was improving, I now see that that was because I didn’t take it seriously enough. That was 5 years ago. Now I’m 18 and I’m realising how much time I’ve wasted in becoming an artist which was my dream for so long. I’m here, I’m back. I watched keep your hands off eizouken, now I’m just feeling my dream wanting to be reality.

As a novice animator who’s been animating for about a decade, I definitely have dreams of making my own animated series one day!
However, I don’t feel I’m really at a point where I can safely (or at least, confidently) start a multi-episodic story driven cartoon. That being said, I’m not giving up on that dream! Instead, I’m working on smaller one off projects as animation tests and practice, and I have four main projects I’m planning on working on! Each one being a bit more challenging than the last!
Currently, I’m just working on a compilation of stop-motion/2.5D/multimedia animation clips featuring me (or, my avatar) and one of my Autobot Bumblebee toys! It’s nothing too fancy in the grand scheme of things, but I am using this project to experiment with a new hybrid animation style, which obviously will make the project more difficult, but I got the first clip all done, so I’m working to get the rest all done hopefully by April! (I originally was pushing for March, but I’m not quite done yet!)

This. I needed this. I plan to open my own production studio I’ll be sure to come to this video again. The crazy thing about my first series I have the characters I have the conflict but I don’t have the plot. I’m not sure how my main character should combat the antagonist... I avoided making side characters for my main character besides her mother because again I need the plot.

I want to make a animation because when I look at anime or anything animated makes me smile makes me happy gets me away from reality for a little while , so I wanted to make my own anime story to make other people happy make me happy because I love drawing so much and if people love seeing it and are happy and smile , that’s all I need in life 😊

I’m planning on making a series called The Glovebox’s: Travelling Merchants! But I’m planning on using mixed mediums like classic animation, and tweening animation. But I don’t have good platforms, have to deal with school and limited screen time. I suck at making good backgrounds and have really bad commitment issues. But I’m at least going to try. Even if I never get the first episode out I’ll still have the experience

This makes sense I kinda skipped the whole point of my animated series and just went straight ahead in making my characters on a piece of paper because I didn't want to forget what they looked like when I was done drawing my characters I got so frustrated and wished I had brain stormed on what the show should be called and what it was going to be about so I was thinking of starting over and just focus on my series name instead of jumping to the fun stuff. Also I have no idea how people just come up with a cartoon series on the spot coming up with a series name is much more harder than it looks and what's even harder than that is coming up with episode names and what the episode names should be about

I’m creating a full on animated show on my channel. I’m 12, I‘ve already did the Pilot, first, and second episode. I’m shooting for 5 seasons, and 45 episodes in all. The rating is TV-14, and the genres are action, adventure, suspense, comedy, Sci-fi, and drama. I have almost all of the plots of each episode down, I have multiple unfinished storyboards, I’m currently at this moment of writing this working on my 3rd episode, and I still have to ask…how do you create an animated series/show?

I am a game designer but I was in the mood for this because I spent the last 4 days getting a pipeline for a character model to animate into pixel art as I am not good enough at either to do it straight.
