- We built this awesome Camping Trailer with a slide out kitchen using the frame of a harbor freight trailer, swapped the axle with some giant tires and made a wooden structure to bolt on. This video shows the entire process and explanation of all the trailers details.

Very cool build, great work.
Just my .02, I’d lose the music. I’d rather hear a mix of the actual sounds of the work being done dubbed over the whole thing than the rave music…lol
That’s a great build. How has the Harbor Freight trailer held up? Would you use it again? Thanks for your efforts filming and sharing this.
Great build, simple, functional. Great color (same as mine) from my backing days, less is best.
Awesome build! The raptor liner was an excellent choice. Makes it look great. Nice work.
Thanks!
Great build. Looking to build something similar, so this is great to see.
Thanks for watching and good luck with your build!
Jimmy Speranza = Leonardo D'avinci of the 21st century ! 👍🏅🙏

Badass man

Hey Jim, absolutely love the trailer. Really inspired to build my own now! It looks from the video like its 8ft x 4ft right? Is it also 4ft high? Sorry to be so nosy but I really think the dimensions you used look awesome and I want the same!
Nice one bud, keep up the good work 👍
Thanks! Yes dimensions are 4x8. This way you can use plywood sheets without cutting as much.
Brilliant, thanks mate. Enjoy your adventures bud!
What did you use for outer trim on your pull out kitchen drawer?
I actually used door sweep seals from lowes. They have the perfect angle to hold a seal tightly against the edges when the kitchen drawer closes.
@@JimSperanza nice.. Thanks for the reply. Do you happen to have a link or photo?
Awesome build and sweet video! How is the raptor liner holding up? I’m planning a build and I get mixed reviews from all the different builds. Keep up the great work! -John
How is the tongue weight? That kitchen is an awesome use of space and I would like to do something similar on my build. But I am worried about that weight balance
It's barely anything considering what the truck is rated for.
What is the sleep bed length?
6 ft. This allows 2 feet of storage in the back.
Is it built out of 3/4 inch ply? Looks sweet and I really love the simplicity. Has it been sturdy enough without a frame? I've been debating doing something like this or using 2x2's to frame it out.
Also did you epoxy it before raptor lining it? Or just raptor over the raw plywood?
I used fiberglass on all the edges and used a wood sealer over the exterior before the Raptor Liner. It is surprisingly strong.
Building something similar. Did you bought a complete new axle to fit the vehicle tire or did you just replace the stub hub or a spacer?
I bought an axle with the bolt pattern I wanted. You can find the axles for decent prices with hubs on ebay or other places searching on Google.
Great video, trailer looks awesome. How do you make your doors weather proof please?
I used combination of inner weatherstripping as well as a rubber flap on the exterior so when the door shuts it seals it from the outside too.
@@JimSperanza thanks for the reply buddy, much appreciated 🙏
Well a year later, how's the raptor liner handling the elements? I'm looking to make a box for my trailer. Drawers and cabinets.
Raptor liner is great and holding up. I did end up respraying another coat because the plywood dried and cracked in a few spots.
@@JimSperanza Hmm that's the problem I had with "outdoor paint". I wonder if I should be my friend's guinea pig and try out the fiberglass kit he bought for his massive squaredrop he's building. Thing looks like a legit jayco trailer, but in fairness he has a full size and doesn't care about going off-road.
Do you mind sharing the link to where you bought the axle with the 5 lug you used for this project? I bought a small trailer that I want to put a 35” tires with 17inch rims. The trailer had 5lugs but it didnt fit with the 17inch rims i want to put on.
I purchased it from ebay there's lot of options for load capacity as well as bolt pattern. If you also just google trailer axles you can find many sites that offer them as well.
Just out of curiosity do you remember the name of the rubber seal you used for your doors? I currently building one an wannna do my own doors like u did to save money
I purchased universal weatherstripping at lowes or home depot
@@JimSperanza thank you!!
What kind of paint did you spray on the wood surface to protect it from rain. water?
Raptor liner
@@JimSperanza Thanx Jim
Looks great 👍 You made the build look so easy. Relatively speaking that is. You can tell you put some hard work into it. 💪🛠🪚🪛
It was definitely a lot of work but I get hyperfocused when I get into a project and go go go until it's completed. I appreciate the compliments and thanks for watching!
How is it with the no insulation.
Just need some good blankets and some body heat 😉
Do you remember what lb gas strut you used?
