Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) stumbles through teenagers dreams in the horror classic a nightmare on elm street. Nancy (Heather Langerkamp) tries to convince her alcoholic mom (Ronee Blakley) and absentee dad (John Saxon) that her dream man is the child murder that they killed so long ago. While she is struggling with sleep depravation, her friends Tina (Amanda Wyss), Rod (Jsu Garcia), and Glen (Johnny Depp) are all killed in their sleep. Nancy has to deal with the bumbling police while trying to catch a supernatural serial killer.

Uncle Greg has to tell his niece, Lori, a bedtime story but doesn't know any of the traditional ones. He uses his knowledge of movies, in this case, "", to deliver. His misremembering and interpretation of events seem to twist the story into parody. Lacking any form of parental skills, he fumbles through the movie forgetting sometimes that he is telling this to a child.
Please enjoy our recap of this film. Our reaction to scenes are solely based on the writing and how the plot could have been better. Plot holes are pointed out and made to be funny. We actually do like the movie.

I will say after having a lifetime of dreams, you can't except logical behavior or common sense to be prevalent in the dream realm. In my experience I've often made mistakes similar to what Tina did throughout her dream, that's actually the most realistic aspect of the film when it pertains to dreams.
But from what we see in Nancy's, it is more like they are pulled into the dream. Nancy is able to make rational decisions even as weird crap is all around her.
@@comedymovierecaps Speaking for myself, I tend to embrace any absurdities that may occur in a dream just to see how it plays out. When I start to think rationally in the middle of the dream, I either start to wake up or the dream will shift away from what caused the break in the illusion.
I'm sure it's different for everyone. 🤣
I've had ones where I have known I was dreaming the whole time, and others where the scenery changes and I just happily play along.
