    i was born in Hong Kong, My dad had joined the Hong Kong Police force straight from the RAF (he was serving there at Kai Tak airport when his National service ended)_ My Mum was in Hong Kong with her family as her father was a RSM in the Army in the welsh regiment.
    I remember Dad always brought his Webley revolver home after his shift, as was the practice at the time. Mum caught my brother (who was 8 at the time) playing with some bullets that 'he found'
    Big confrontation between parents ensued as to safe storage of ammo.
    But back to the revolver. I remember dad showing me how he cleaned the gun and stripped it down. I was allowed to hold the gun (unloaded of course) and remember how heavy it felt! I will certainly see if I can get one as it brings back so many memories of my childhood in the crown colony as it was in the 60's! As for the figure '60' I now myself am 63, Dad passed several years ago, but Ill always remember his Webley Mk 6 (the real one!)")

      Depending on where you live, you might have either a harder or easier time getting a Webley. I think the hardest part is actually finding a genuine Webley, along with its harder to find .455 ammo. I think Fiocchi is one of the only companies that still make the .455 caliber if you do find a genuine Webley revolver.

      I do wish sometimes the manufacturers would (for the UK market) go closer to that 6ft/lbs limit as something like this with nigh on double the power output would be one hell of a fun plinker. I reckon if the makers of things like this and the s&w revolvers put more time into rifled barrels, power output (to legal limits of course) and overall build quality they'd sell WAY more of these than they do. A revolver with "real feel" insertable bullets that packs a decent punch against tin cans and targets in the garden would be pretty awesome tbh.

    I’ve had the bb battlefield version for 6 years and I must say that it’s one of my favourite replica air guns, I bought it before the pellet version was released. A couple of points to note though: 1/ sometimes I find that the hammer gets caught under the web of your thumb if you are holding the grip too high, it’s ok when you get used to it though. 2/ I found it not much fun if you are using it with the 6 shells that it’s supplied with. Having to reload the shells with bbs after every 6 shots gets a bit annoying. If you buy an additional 24 shells and pre-load them before the session it is much more fun and the 30 shells is just right for one co2 capsule. The only problem is that the shells were very expensive here in the uk. It worked out much cheaper for me to have some shipped from Spain.

    I bought the BBs in 6" in 2015 and in 2019 the Exhibition Nickel finish. Very realistic - I have a deactivated police version. In 1916, Lieutenant Pritchard invented a bayonet for trench warfare to fit the 6" service revolver. It was a commercial failure and only about 200 were made. In 2018, one soled for £6000. Mine (brass and steel, with scabbard) £165 came from China. It needed a lot of machining to fit but looks great.

Couldnt be happier with my decision, Ive only heard good things about it. I might still get the peacemaker down the line tho, theres nothing quite like the gun that won the west. Funny cos the real stens were made for £1 each during the second World War, cheap and Erm.. Cheerful ? Doesn't sound right about a death dealing gun does it lol.

      I've heard Umarex make guns with badly corroding inside barrels. I hope it's not true as nearly every replica air gun is made by them.

    Blackadder receives a brand new one, just before they go over the top, in the final episode.

      They would have had to shoot me in the backside with a mark VI before l would have gone over the top into that crazy melee, my battalion would be the first battalion deserters. Lol. And l was an infantryman in the Green Howerds now sadly amalgamated into The Yorkshire Regiment..

    They are really nice looking pieces i own a 1953 enfield in .380 it is fun to shoot but looks identical to the webley from watching you shoot they are wey more accurate the endfield at 20 ft shoots 6 inches low and 6 inches to the right on a bench

    So I'm trying to choose, for single action functionality only (double action doesn't interest me I have a gas M92) between the 1875 Remington, the Webley, and the Nagant

    Intresting history on the snub nosed 2.5 length version. Not alot of information out there and Correct me if I'm wrong but apparently after ww2 a bunch of them were shipped to the US as surplus. Many of them were cut down by gunsmiths to appeal to the American Market.

    I’m very surprised they’re marketing a .22 version. How long before they’re banned like TACS were. 🤦🏻

    • @56Gumball
      @56Gumball 3 года назад

      @William Tell I take it you understand why TAC guns were banned? Never underestimate the skills of a machinist with a criminal mind.

    • @ripzoh169
      @ripzoh169 3 года назад +1

      They won't be banned anytime soon. The alloy is too weak to handle the force of a real bullet. Cartridge guns are completely different. Besides even if they did ban them criminals would still get them the same as they get hold of real guns and other contraband. The only people they would be hurting are the legitimate shooting community.

    • @56Gumball
      @56Gumball 3 года назад

      @@ripzoh169 I will reiterate my statement for you, ‘never underestimate a skilled machinist with a criminal mind’. This is exactly what got .22 TACS banned and innocent owners like my self and others had their fun well and truly spoilt by the criminal fraternity. Without going into detail (for obvious reasons), alloy parts are not even an issue. I sincerely hope that we don’t go down the same route as the TACS, but I’m not holding my breath.
