I am so enjoying my Baltany Military Chrono too. Glad I found your channel finally after following you on IG for awhile, great shots! Great review, thanks.
I've just bought the 205034 vintage chrono. I was torn between both but, eventually went for the non-military style as I already have similar looking watches in my collection. Also, there was a choice of 3 styles and I went for the panda style. But, Baltany are putting out some great watches at incredible prices with some great specs.
Nice watch that I have been looking at for a while. Not convinced I would actually wear it enough though and like you have too many Ali watches! Quality of vids still improving Alton. Love the catchphrase too. 😊 happy new year from Scotland 🏴
I picked one up just before Xmas. The only thing I wasn't in love with was the strap....but the 20mm lugs made a replacement easy. Definitely staying in my collection for awhile, too. It just looks "right", for whatever reason(s).
Baltany is one of only a few interesting watch brands on Aliexpress. I'm also a fan of the "2 Hz equivalent" Seiko quartz movements. You get the convenience, accuracy and reliability of quartz, and you completely avoid the common quartz problem the second hand(s) missing the markers. Strong lume is a nice selling point for it, although it's not expected on a field watch. For the money, this is an attractive and apparently well built watch.
I'm with you. Baltany is one brand that has found its niche and is garnering a following. I agree, the low beat quartz is such a great movement for the budget segment. I'd like to see more. Better yet, the Bulova UHF is even cooler and I don't get why it's used so sparingly.
Great review, you've obviously tested it thoroughly 👍 . When I saw this arrive in their store, I very nearly bought it, but I have a Seizenn (hand wind Merkur movement) with a similar dial, the movement in the Seizenn has packed up, so if I can't repair it, I will buy the Baltany.
@@halfpastblog It isn't a chronograph, just a 3 hand movement with centre seconds. It still works but is so inaccurate it is useless, regulating doesn't help, because in different positions it varies by about 100 seconds a day 😂
@@dunderhay9169 oh wow. Ya.. Lusk of the draw with these brands sometimes. That's why I prefer Japanese movements of possible in my cheap watches. They are usually reliable
Hey Alton. Nice review, as always. I'm with you that this is definitely a great value watch. I find setting the time a bit less precise than I'd like -- the hour hand feels a little sloppy to me -- and I don't love the ghost date position or the two colors of lume. But generally I'm a fan, and I think it's a sharp looking watch with great specs and dimensions -- and I totally agree with you that I'm glad they dropped the useless 24-hand you find on so many mecha quartzes. For the price, it's hard to beat. 👏⌚
Nice video, Alton, as always 👍 And its a nice too-late-self-christmas gift! Ok, but some points are there...First: I would prefer the three hands version, but thats a matter of taste. Second: The two-tone lume doesn´t fit; for a retro they should have chosen only c3 super-luminova. And last but not least: I would like it in BIGGER, as always... Thanks, looing forward to your next videos ⌚
Great observations. You aren't the only one to mention the dual lume as a negative. They have some good looking three handlers butmost are around 36-37 mm so neither you nor I will buy them. 😉
Is this an homage of a particular watch? The design is not close to any of the British Ministry of Defense commissioned watches made by Buren, Cyma, Eterna, Grana, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Lemania, Longines, IWC, Omega, Record, Timor, and Vertex. At some point Militado (ML1868) and San Martin (SN0120) started offering versions of the same design - or were they the first to offer such a design - and do other manufacturers make versions??? I still wish one of them would make no-date pilot version of this bold dial design using a Seiko VH31 quartz.
@@halfpastblog Great value for the price. It's lightweight, beautiful double dome sapphire, good lume, quality leather band, and the screw down crown operates real smooth. One thing is I would have preferred a brushed case finish over the bead blasted finish. I'm probably going to go with the W10 British air force homage next.
Hey! It is a CNS ribbed "nato" but I'm sorry, I don't remember the colour name. I've had it a while. But they are so cheap you could buy every gray version they offer. 😂
I'd like to see Baltany come out with a no-date pilot version of this (removing both sub-dials, keeping *all* major hands, sapphire crystal, same bold font size, multi-color lume and adding '6' and '12' markers, leaving all triangular, sub-second track and 'Baltany' markers intact (maybe replacing 'Pilot', 'Field' or 'Military' for 'Chronograph'), with similar case and thick screw-down crown, possibly improving any anti-reflective coating), but using the Seiko VH31 quartz and with 100-200M water resistance. Yes, Baltany *already* has similar models (with minor design flaws on each) - S182005B, S182019, S182027, S202002, S202007, S202032 - but none quite match the boldness of this model (S205033).
@@halfpastblog I will contact Baltany asking them to create such a model, but would they be up for it given their similar watches? Maybe they didn't want to repeat themselves, but I don't have much of a need for a chronograph feature. I'd like to know the sales of all of the Baltany models I noted, but I'd guess this chronograph is selling quite well, mostly due to it's bold design. Any design changes you would like to see?? Thanks for your video!
Be sure to set your resolution to 4k! A like and subscribe would be amazing too! Thanks for watching.

So great to connect! And thanks for the kind words. I enjoy your IG page. 👍👍
Very cool! Baltany has been releasing some great watches. Personally I wanna try out that bronze bezel / red dial diver
Yes they have!
Great review Alton, really enjoyed it 👌🏻
That is very kind of you, much appreciated! Love your channel. 🍻
Bought one and unexpectedly love it. I can’t seem to stop wearing it. Lume is outstanding!
That's great to hear!
Thanks for the review. Heck of a watch. Cheers from Atlantic Canada!!!
And thanks for watching!
the alignemt of the chrono hand IS baltany's fault, you have to pull it out and place it back in the correct position to fix it
What a pain!

Thanks very much, Chris. I appreciate it. 🍻👍💪 For what it's worth, of all my Ali watches I think I will actually wear this one. And have been.

The majority of my straps are 20mm so I was happy about that as well. And this one looks good on all kinds.
Looks a fantastic!! I love a vintage military style watch
💯🍻
Outside of the sale, I was able to find it for $169 cdn. It arrived in 2 weeks and it's pristine. Don't be afraid to use the search box.😊
Glad to hear!

Thanks! Is that the st19 or whatever it is called? Those cheap hand wind chrono movements are awesome, so long as they work.

It is close to a design that I've seen Hamilton and others use. But I don't know the originator.
Already bought it back last summer :P .. nice watch.
Good call!
Hi, the mustard yellow strap - is it the ribbed one from cns? Or the premium one. Thank you
It is the ribbed mustard. They have a new softer kind that looks great too
Almost pulled the trigger on this, but ended up going with their regular D12 quartz field watch. The numbers just look a bit too cartoony on this one.
How do you like the D12?

@@borbetomagus yes! I'd like my chronograph hand to align to center. 🤣
Beautiful watch
I would say ... buy any Baltany ... and if on sale... buy 2!
😁👍🍻
Is it dead yet?
Still ticking. But chronograph resets to 59 seconds.
