I just received my Baltany chronograph from the 11/11 sale. Absolutely superb! No registrstion issues of the chrono second hand. If I were still serving in the military this would absolutely be my service watch. It's very light and I could easiy forget I was wearing a watch. For $148.00 this watch is a steal!
I thought you might find this interesting. I received this watch yesterday and after watching your review the first thing I checked was the chronograph hand alignment. It was perfect. However, after using the chronograph a few times it shifted to the left just like yours which made me think a possible loose hand and not a QC issue. I know you cannot reset the hand using the pushers but I read a post where it basically stated reseting the hand before 30s resets the hand clockwise and therefore anticlockwise past 30s. The post suggested to reset past 30s and the torque from the reset may realign the hand. You would reset before 30s if you had a deviation to the right. I was sceptical but after about 8 attempts the chronograph hand reset to perfect zero and has reset perfectly after more uses. Not sure how this worked but it did.
I have this watch. It is excellent. Luckily mine has no problems with the chronograph hand thankfully. I got a nylon and rubber strap today that fits it perfectly like the seamless fit of an everest strap on a rolex. Really lifts the piece. The strap was only about £15 from aliexpress, but had to take it to a jewelers to get it fitted after 30 minutes of trying myself with the spring bar tool (the jewelers also said it was a nightmare). Now it looks amazing.
This is one of my favorite watches. I’m glad there’s no 24 hour dial and no date. I would like to see a signed crown and buckle, but not a deal breaker for me.
The misalignment is a letdown, but I’d think this isn’t the norm with Baltany and you could expect a correctly aligned secondhand when you hit it yourself. Sapphire looks great, also that they used beadblasted hardware on the nato strap is great, Nice, good thing they stuck to their pattern, atleast I see it that way. Could be nice daily wear piece on maybe a light brown leather strap or that nato if one prefers. Thanks for the review, keep up the good work!
Agreed, the QC on the previous Baltany watches I have reviewed has been excellent. I was disappointed with this misalignment as otherwise the quality was excellent. The VK61 mecha-quartz is also excellent. On a positive note it serves a purpose of dispelling the "cherry picked" piece by brand misconception. It also proves that I detail both the positives and negatives of a piece, regardless of whether it was gifted, and or I was paid by the brand. I don't need to give positive reviews in order to maximise sales, and affiliate commission. Regards, #WR4K
Was hoping to hear the start/stop pusher action, but voiceover drowned it out. Some other quartz chronographs I've had in-hand have very mushy start/stop actions. Is that the case here as well?
@@watchreviews4k Damn you're right! -- I have a VK67 that does. Crack-it open mate! Align it -- though you may compromise the water-resistance. It's not like we paid a fortune for it. Or align it in three years time when you must absolutely open the caseback for the battery exchange. :) Love your videos.
@@CarlosAguilaWR4K didn't mention opening the case back. I googled a short manual for the VK series and they mention a circuit reset with conductive tweezers, though the info isn't specific if it helps with chrono hand alignment. I have a hunch that all VK's should be able to do it. However, since they're geared to the main (and only) motor, I'm surprised VK67 can do that. Anyway, circuit reset woudln't work in case of a gear slipping... correct me if I'm wrong.
Too bad the miss alignment chrono hand. It looks like the NATO strap is a bit short as well. I have an 18 cm wrist size. Overall I like the Baltany watches, but this one, I don't know...
I might be seeing it wrong, but at 12:55 it looks like the chrono hand is centered perfectly. Straight through the 30 minute and 60 minute marker on the sub dial. It looks rather more like the 12 o' clock triangle marker is misplaced slightly to the right. Still a shame of course, although I've seen worse misalignments on much more expensive Seiko watches.
It appears to be an homage to US military spec MIL-W-46374A made famously by Hamilton, but without the PM hours and with a chronograph. Hamilton currently make a Khaki Field Chronograph, but I'm not sure of the timelines.
certainement une montre sans défaut , tout est parfait et une super étanchéité , supérieure a la Maaseik 5 equivalent , et j ai les deux ! personnellement en montre militaire c'est la plus sympa du marche mieux que hamilton a mes yeux
I know what you mean, when I forget there is a ghost date, the first thing that crosses my mind is that something is broken. Then I flip out -- then I remember.

I don't have a watch over 1k, I got mine yesterday and it might be my favorite of the 6 I have.
Love your thorough reviews. I've been watching a lot of yours recently. Subscribed! 😊

even on the official website the photo of the watch shows the tachymeter pointer further to the right
Sorry about the mis-alignment, otherwise it is a very beautiful watch.
still cant get use to fake patina, would love to see one with a light green lume, as if it was new. why bi coloured lume on a vintage inspired watch

No Drew, it has a positive click feeling, and sound. Regards, #WR4K
Much appreciated.
Great review, can the chronograph hand be calibrated? I have a VK62 that will allow for alignment.
No Carlos, the Seiko VK61 cannot be calibrated. The hand has to be removed and reset correctly aligned. Regards, #WR4K

Wouldn't the bead blast finish come off easily?
No Andy. Regards, #WR4K

No. Regards, #WR4K
I'm getting really sick of ghost dates. If it's got the guts, add the date! 4 o'clock position and color-matched would be perfect.
Thank you for watching. Regards, #WR4K
