That has got to be up there as one of the best endings ever.
Somewhere along the way we lost this, I hope we get it back one day.
The music really makes this scene.
It made the whole movie!
Absolutely!
So crucial !
I like the music 🎵 at the end of the film.when Sue Charlton declare her love ♥️ for Mick Dundee.
100% true
One of the most iconic scenes in movie history.!!
That is what you call an ending!! The look of anticipation in her eyes as he makes his way back to her shows nothing but pure love and admiration for her love!
And the most iconic is: that is not a knife - this is a knife!
@@norbiesison9257 HaHa, well they married in real life.
@@karolinewirth True!
@@karolinewirth then divorced 20yrs later
The score to this film is criminally underrated...
Peter Best has scored a lot of Australian film & television and is an excellent composer.
I know this movie is from the 1980s, but it is still fantastic in 2023. This is a feel great movie and you can feel the emotion when Sue shouts, "I love you, Mick! I am not gonna to marry Richard."
Dam it , thats it , im gonna change my nick name to mick" 😁😁😉
I watched it for the first time in 2023. I come back to this clip Beyond 2024.
There would be so much money made if only they made movies like this again.
Good lord yes. REAL cinema
My father took me to the movies to see this movie when I was a teenager. I really liked seeing it. Good memories of a beautiful time of innocence.
well , im wathcing this now and watched it back when it came out , now , i get emotion watching it , but i guess its cuz im 50 , .
He left his wife and 9 kids to be with her. Is that what you call Innocence?
Me and my friend run away from school to see this. This was in USSR 1988 I think. In a different world, in another life
@@Heart2HeartBooks that was your dad
I especially like all the background applause. Everyone likes a couple in love.
1:52 The way the beat drops here literally affected me so much as a child I still very specifically remember it and come looking for it
I love this movie. That scene is so awesome. Love the 80's.
This movie still holds its own. From beginning to end, the story just keeps you involved. She's so beautiful, running full out with one purpose. And the saying that is becoming less and less common in movies these days "I LOVE YOU!"
One of my favorite scenes in the movie, her chasing after him
TBH, I replay this scene over and over and over.I love Sue's declaration for Mick!
My dumb ass teared up so many times to this.
I'm so lucky. I am with someone I love that much.
I know life is short-- and we only have but so much time together, but she's my everything right now.
Can we appreciate also that soundtrack? Had that Aussie vibe and perfect build for the scene. I remember leaving the theater after seeing the movie in such a great mood.
I agree. Good music. Since it was a movie about an australian. The music was perfect for that movie. For that scene at least.
Was there ever a character cooler than Mick? One of the best movies of all time.❤
What a beauty Linda Kozlowski was back then. 😍
Incredible legs
Amen to that.
Agreed. Too bad her and Paul Hogan had ZERO chemistry in this film. I still like it though.
@@brian-vz5hz you know they got married right?
@@brian-vz5hz please tell me this is a joke? They are fantastic together
I love the fact that she ran barefoot on the New York Street and then she was barefoot on the underground metro platform.
I’ve seen this scene so many times. Shedding her high heels was not only done out of necessity for catching Dundee before his train left, but also symbolically for her shedding her New York life to embrace one with Dundee!
I’ve never seen a grown woman move that fast.
Linda has some real guts running barefoot on a New York St. You have to wonder how many times she may have stumbled during those takes.
One of the greatest, most underrated movies of all time! And what an awesome ending!
I must have been very young when I saw this movie for the first time. Looking at it now, it's such a great movie. The plot, the acting, the jokes, the music and Linda Kozlowski. Can't take my eyes off her. Awesome piece of cinematic history.
4:51 -- That look on her face, like, "Of COURSE this is how Mick would do it!"
I love the doorman at 1:30 smiling at his gift his friend Mick gave him...and the look of terror the couple has as the go back inside the hotel.
😂 I'd not noticed that before to be honest
I love that scene also. The previous moment between the doorman and Mick where they put on each other's accents to say farewell and exchange grins is a nice little touch in the film.
I love that scene too, but Sue gives him the knife to hold it until they or she gets back. She hands it to him and tells him to “mind” that for her.
But the look on his face and then the people behind are legit hilarious
Innocence, pure. This scene is the best definition of the 80s. The best decade of the human history.

Yess it was a way different atmosphere back then. The music was fun, the movies was more laid back and fun, the fashion 😊 the hairstyles.
More fun
Absolutely. I pity everybody who didn't get to live through the 80s. It was a golden age.
The 80s when people was still real ❤
you sweet summer child... how old are you - that is, how old you were in, say, 1986? my experience was, that 80s was the worst i've seen. except music. and some movies. but fashion, politics, life, being 14 to 16 - every year i am not 14 any more is happier than previous. fashion was just ugly. and don't even start on hairstyles. punk was cool but mainstream. ew. now, 60s and 70 were alrite. fun fashion, fresh atitude. and then - well, 90s were not so bad, what with soviet union collapsing and all fun with that, but afterwards, it feels like just stagnation and repeating of culture. no really new and fresh and original music after 80s. did i say 80s were the best? - but only in music. 🎸
Ouch that knee in the balls lol
Never been one for romance scenes but this one gets me every time.
Man oh man when she took them shoes off, that's when shyt got real. I love the way she runs, she was truckin to get her man. Women take notes.
Every time I see Linda Kozlowski ditch her heels to run to the subway I fall in love a little more. Such a great scene.
The magic of cinema. No special effects, fighting, vulgarity. Just incredible script, originality, epic music and a chorus of human emotion. One of my favourite scenes of all time!
Same. I cry every time
I agree. Perfect movie
damit man , im crying seing this scene today , 51 year old guy , cant help it , seen this movie years and years ago when it came out , huge smashing movie those days , still great to watch , this scene touched me nothing back then , but today , im getting old and emotionell .
well said.
Yeah, mine too 🙂
I watch this video each and every day before I go to bed and it never gets old
Lot different in the subway nowadays.
Man, I miss the 80's.
Greatest movie ending ever! 🙂
This scene just made me cry, something about it was so moving.
Holy crap she can run really fast
The suspense with the music 🔥
Classic 80s movie and scene. Dundee is cool. The black dude that says "what's up lady "is even cooler. He reminds me of MrT, Ba Barrakis on the A team. It's funny how they deliver the message down the line. I miss shows like these. They don't make them like that anymore.
Back when goosebumps came with the cinema experience
I love this part it's beautiful
I love this movie. It still holds up. One of the greatest movies ever made.
One of the bestest ending ever! Definitely in the top 300 of all time.
Probably one of the best scenes in cinema history!
I love this scene .
One of the best endings in cinema history. 😭🥰
I was 11 years old when I saw this and these final 3 minutes made me stand on the edge of the seat hoping they'd be together.
Backn in a time when CINEMA was ACTUAL CINEMA because it followed CINEMA, not an agenda, when people still dreamed good.
that was awesome. All we have today is superheroes movies.
I love how everyone else’s clothes were neutral colors and her dress was vibrant red. It really made her stick out
I love this movie ❤️ all you need in life is to listen to your heart, and to have guts 💟
What in the world would it take to make a movie like this again? Excellent story. Real film. The whole nine.
1986. Just like yestеrday... i love 80's
This music buildup is so great. This movie brings me back to my childhood!
Love is a helluva drug.
Makes me remember my childhood. This movie came out when I was like 10 years old.
She was just lovely
This is why I love this platform.
Great movie...period
I ran to the air port in heels like Sue to pick up my husband. When I got to the terminal we kissed, he carried me to a taxi and rubbed my feet when we got home and I went to bed one happy woman.
I was only 6 years old when I watched this at the cinema with my old folks.
God it is one of the most awesome movies of all time ……from a Kiwi☺️
Lovable scene of a very entertaining movie. And check this wonderful music, perfect work.
1986…better than now….😢😢
I was just thinking that. That they got married in real life. And because I worked in the entertainment field at the time. In Beverly hills. I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with him one day at work. Very nice down to Earth man. God bless both of them forever wherever they are now. Amen.
The music one the best soundtrack, I love this movie when I was a Child and the part 2, we need more movies like this ❤
I love the way it builds and builds. The direction is superb. Great film
Very good never gets old
Great movie with an emotional and Great ending ,Both Paul Hogan and Linda Koslowski along with the extras in the Subway did a great Job ,Even makes a growing man cry along with laughter at the same time watching this after 38 years since it premiered back in Theatres in 1986 .
For those who don't know Mick was walking above the people like our dogs do over sheep heards
Vivi As Melhores decadas do Mundo...80/90......
THE BEST SCENE EVER!
I love a good ending..just like when my daughter used to say the final story line of a fairy tale..”and they live happily ever after”..😊
Best ending of romantic movie ever. Not even sequel had that power, even if the music and touch was similar. The simplicity and humor, with the music, makes this just so perfect.
My departed father and I I had a blast 👀 ing this 🎥 when it was release in '86.
That communication is awesome. We should appreciate These two men who had no idea what was going on and didn't know who Richard is, but still decided to pass the message from one end to other. It was thanks to them that Sue and Mick officially became a couple.
Nowadays it would be two weirdos getting together.
To the right couple spirit? People do some crazy things to tell someone they love that specific person
just as good as i remembered it.
Tal vez sea cursi pero para mí es una de las escenas románticas finales más hermosas que he visto, sencilla pero creativa.
The scene shows the glory of the human love ,,down with the war and dictatorship
Absolutely. Knowing actual real love in any capacity while we are alive is why we are here
I hate they couldn't work it out. Now I'm that I'm older I do get very emotionally over this scene. Again it's sucks couldn't their differences aside and love each until death do you part.
Love this scene, those guys in the middle 👍👍😃❤️
I luv a happy ending.
Up there with the best. Looking back ay you from 2022
I love this scene and the music!Amazing!
Such a good score to this movie and this scene inparticular
One of Australia’s most iconic love scenes
The black guy who eventually 🤟 yells back for her… I love you!
Is the best!
The power of love
Recordando esta noche a mi madre que solia llevarme al cine a ver este clasico.. DEP 😢
The way he gets back to her is both cool and romantic. Vintage 80s 😎❤️💪🏾
True love makes you cry
Wut a scene. I teared up on that one.
The best love scene ever
great movie.. love the ending..
This is what romance looks like
no social distancing in subways
Favourite ending to a film x
Bloody good movie!
Esse filme vai fica p sempre na minha memória.
Esse foi um dos finais mais lindos de todos os tempos! ❤❤❤
The best MOVIE EVER! John P.
Um, if you've ever been to NYC, it's not exactly the cleanest place to be running about in your bare tootsies.
Subway scene, my favorite, I choke up a little every time
Makes Me Cry.
Lol those thick heels stepping on people's heads just digging in
