Your support and interaction mean the world to me. Let's embark on this creative journey together!
When I encounter a challenge artistically or in life, I step away from it and move on to something else. When I return to whatever challenge later, I have solutions. It is easier to step away than suffer deep frustration. This happens to me repeatedly and I am profoundly aware that although I have relegated my challenge to the background, my brain is still computing and working on options. I often have wondered why solutions become clearer when I set aside my anxiety and allow time to digest issues. Of course, I face serious life challenges head on, but so many issues just need time and patience. Works for me!
Aaaaaah…… this explains something. I used to be a schoolteacher to first graders, and in term time they struggled to understand concepts/ learning to read and then it was interrupted by a week’s holiday. Upon their return they had mastered the skills quite miraculously.
Also why good sleep is so important!!
I really enjoy reading your essays, yet… seeing you and listening to your essays and comments are really special. Thank you for doing these. 😊
🙌 Here’s to everyone one of us who have gotten to middle age and felt like a space cadet! Now we can see the benefits and share it. Thank you Danny for sharing! 🌅🙌🌅🙌🌅🙌🌅
I’ve also heard that referred to as the receptive mode. Once we ask a question then we need to let it go and be open to an answer. We are getting answers to questions or inspiration all the time, but must stop asking the question long enough to hear the answer or the inspiration. Loved listening to this!
this was so comforting to those of us that acquire lots of seemingly useless information that somehow always come in handy.. thank you danny!
This is exactly what I needed to hear this morning. Your channel has been a great encouragement to me. As a younger person definitely struggling with some level of addiction to information consumption (scrolling), I'm using your videos alongside others to try and get back on track to be the creative I know I am. Thank you for the great advice!
I'm so glad!
As the saying goes,, you are speaking my language. We covered this in hypnotherapy school, yet when I'm busy or depressed I forget it is a thing. I do try it with Wordle, when I'm not trying to do Wordle at 3 AM. I've only gotten one word on the first try so far. It also means I can stop beating myself up for being a human Johnny 5 trying to soak up all the input until my brain feels like it's going to explode. I need to remind myself to do physical things or I'm all brains all the time. I'm going to share this with my closest friends. Thank you for the refresher course.
Totally agree with you in so many aspects of this video. Thru out the day I feed my conscience mind with art related material ie reading, watching RUclips for art techniques, art images, art history, colour theory etc etc. Then I let the mind absorb it,then at night I experiment, practice, play, create in my art journals. But when I go to sleep my dreamscape explodes and my subconscious comes to life & is full of art related creations, with me experimenting and creating art endlessly in my Dreams. I love that my mind is processing all I have feed my mind thru out the day, and over the weeks. I love your channel, always find your content so wonderful and interesting. Thanks for sharing and inspiring Us. Keep creating and look forward to seeing more videos. Have a fantastic day 🎨🌈☀🙏😊
Yes! Our default mode network deserves more love ❤
👍😄 for the paying attention comment! Love it!
I am watching this because I am drawing right now and you have a very soothing voice :)
I just found you recently and I’ve been really enjoying your videos. You are presenting some very complex ideas simply and clearly. It’s very helpful. Thank you! Dawn
Awesome, thank you!
I really like listening to you talk it's really relaxing, I have had a lot of problems for a long time but in the last 6 months it got a bit out of control and I had to go to hospital because of trying to kill myself multiple times and I don't really like to talk to people but one of the Mental Health Nurses was talking to me and encouraged me to draw because I told her I write stuff and it sometimes help to prevent me cutting and I started drawing and it's becoming one of my biggest coping mechanisms. I started just doing pencil then really liked charcoal and now I am really getting into fine liners and doing aggressive scribble art, I don't really know what I am going to draw I just like drawing demon faces when I came out of hospital so just drew demons faces over and over and things that felt like the emotion I didn't want to feel anymore but I started trying to be more creative and I notice when I make a mistake or something comes out shit I just mess around with it thinking it's a lost cause and I HATE IT so do stuff I normally wouldn't when trying and realise some of those drawings become some of my favourite most interesting ones and just wanted to say thank you for such cool videos I like to watch you and someone called Drawing Sessions because he does a lot of creature art and I try recently to put that demons face onto creatures, when the Police woman was in my apartment because I was live streaming cutting myself they came to chat to me and I drew her a parrot with it's shadow looking almost identical but the shadow was depressed and just in the background then I wiped my blood all over the page and it's one of my favourite things because I was just messing around but it came out so unusual and I posted some recent videos and I post a lot of my art on my community part of RUclips and hope you look and tell me some advice thank you.
I hope you're feeling better and not hurting! You sound so creative; I'm glad you're letting it flow! ❤ Let all the poison out by being creative and free! Take care ❤
Oh yes. I know what you mean about the amazing power of the mind. As a child I learned to read music to play a recorder. I had no clue about playing it and promptly forgot everything. Fast forward to me learning to play the ocarina at thirty. I found after a week of playing it that I could read the music way ahead of my hands playing it. I could stop and wait for my hands to catch up and then continue playing without an error. This was fascinating to me. Thanks for the awesome “takes” on creativity!
Thank you Danny, I discovered your channel and I really love its content overall. This is the third video and I think this is the best one yet although I'm sure there's going to be plenty more that I'm loving as well. What I love about this video is the way you explain things the illustrations the examples are all so very helpful. I have been accused of zoning out or daydreaming numerous times and always felt guilty for it. Now I realize it was part of my creative process and so I'm going to give myself permission to zone out to doodle give my brain a chance to reflect and I think it's really going to help me to be a more creative person overall. I'm an upholsterer furniture and amateur artist. And recently I realized I needed some me time so I started painting again and I make bookmarks and greeting cards and I'm painting a metal cabinet with sunflowers on it. And I find this down time this happy time makes me a better person for my work schedule. Thank you so very much for this video I look forward to many many more videos from you and I love that even though it's an artist type channel that you invite intellectual information as well because really were more than just the sum of our parts.
I'm really good at retirement and one of my favorite things to do is to space out and stare at the ceiling. Thanks for the video, I feel better.
I came. I saw. I overthought it.
Thanks for this priceless insight.
DANNY GETS DEEP….😁🙏
Such a fun topic!! I have always been fascinated by our inner powers.
I love your perspective.
Thanks again! 🎉
So encouraging! I'm praising God for how He's created us. ❤
What your saying is true I am a christian but I belive that this is a gift from God its the way he made us and we should use this gift
Thanks!
Thank you!!
Way to go Danny. Thanks for sharing this so clearly

Totally relate to you - and have lived this. Thanks for validating me and for creating for this video.
Thank you! ❤
My mind stays busy trying to answer the things wonder about. It does make more creative.
I love this grandpa ❤🎉
Uh, I'm not a grandpa. But thanks! 👴🏻
Thank you 😊
Thank you! I will wander from here :))
Enjoy your vacation this week!!!
Hmmmm... my brain retains information like a rusty sieve... I know it does sometimes just try to do a blue screen from too much information hitting at the same time! 😂 Your ability to do puzzles sounds like my husband's method. We learned he goes by shape of the piece(math mind). I do it by color(art mind or rainbow mind in my case!🌈).
Big like
You are your subconscious mind.
It's the engine room.
It's constantly observing and storing data about the world.
The engine room notifies you only when you *need* to be notified, otherwise you'd go doolally.
I mean, imagine every nerve ending in your body telling your conscious mind what it's feeling every second of every day.
No, we function on autopilot quite a lot.
The engine room makes decisions then tricks your conscious mind into thinking it's chosen what to do. Clever eh?
Some of us seem to achieve a closer interaction with the engine room.
But don't imagine your conscious mind is doing the steering 😎😂
🤗👍
Let's just say ppl who rely on their brain for income or identity are more aware of random performance variations... Most folks are body-oriented (until ALZ hits).
For myself, the ingredients that make a 'good day' at least in that sense of engaged interest, energy & focus...
... Is more like the most complex machine room you've ever seen, with inexplicable dials with unintelligible Cyrillic script, maybe some that don't work, creaking & groaning with decrepitude.
Where pulling a lever might make the lights glow brighter - but equally can plunge me into utter darkness.
Maybe that's just me...
I don't know! Could be, but I relate to a lot of it?🤔
Turns out I had adhd and had been undiagnosed most of my life until I was like. 25.
Ever since it's been a lot of learning what's adhd related, and what's not. And now I'll find myself learning things about myself that - maybe aren't ADHD related, but are just part of how I work anyway.
For instance, I've learned that sound cues direct a lot of how my brain processes and organizes what it is we're supposed to be doing, so if I wanna multitask on something like a video game and a bit of writing - that video game can't also be loud. Little stuff. You learn what makes the machine go BRRR as you get along lol.
Hello 👋
سپاسگزارم😍🙏🏻🫶🏻
I do this, though I call it a power nap. If done right, I don't actually sleep, I completely relax leaving all the stressors float away. I set a timer for 10 minutes. Often, I come up with an idea to fix a problem, or something totally different that needs my time. It's basically what @maxlinesartist wrote. It's a gift from God. He's there, we just don't always take time to 'listen' to Him.
