His sword bends and still smiles, what a guy. Sportmanship at its finest.

Sometimes laughing is a coping mechanism
The obvious "it will KEEL"
and the SMILE
Love it. Dont know why some people in the comments cant tell the difference between good cheesy and bad cheesy. Ehh, I guess it's an opinion at the end of the day.
That's so cringy
Any metal object “will KEEL”
@@jackwilliams4932 yes sir. I think the challenge is more so who's keels more efficiently and comfortably. Any metal object with a tip can probably skewer a human with little force.
Pancouver venguins fine. Any 1 meter long metal object “WILL KEEL”
who else kinda felt bad for the guy who lost?
he seemed like a nice guy
Doesn't also help that he kinda looks like my old man.
Looks like he thought of many things and crammed it in that blade.
Seems like he's a decent fellow too.
I mean, I kinda did, but he admitted it himself and he was just proud that he was able to make it far. He left with a smile on his face

Lord?
“we’re gonna do it anyways!” (proceeds to hurt himself with the sword and complains about it)
Good ol' Dudley Dolittle.
He wasn't planning on hurting himself with the saber. I mean if you handle anything in your own hand(s) you never really intend on hurting yourself, and if you do hurt yourself it's a problem.
Correct
@Jesus Gomez Islas I don't know why I didn't see it as a joke, my bad
patrick kelly you good man
I’m waiting for one episode where “it doesn’t keel” big oof
It would have to be insanely dull, but even then, you can still be skewered by it. I don't really think that challenge is so much about IF it will keel, but WHO'S keels the most efficiently and comfortably.
The only one that they said would not KEEL was a crossbow that missed all the dummy's
Crossbow episode is the only one Ive seen and Ive bought multiple seasons.
Just a paper airplane
There is an episode with a lions spear, which breaks on first impact with the pig carcass
I went to High school with Tyler. Fantastic guy and highly talented. One of my best friends. Glad he’s finally getting the recognition he deserves! Credit where credit is due, he’s earned it!

Oh cool my dad was his squad leader

Imagine waking up to Doug in the dark wearing a grim reaper robe and he smiles at you before saying "i will *keel* "

7:49 That noise was unsettling... was that diarrhea or something?
xD lol
Hahahah yeah probably
Lol
I do that too when I’m cringing inside
Is it just me or is that judge always complaining about every single handle on every weapon that they test?
Yeah the only time that he doesn't complain is when a Smith custom makes a handle for his hand
Well handles are supposed to fit to the person that owns the knife so this is a pretty stupid thing to complain except of course it doesn't fit to anybody and it's hard to use.
It's just to flex on small handed people
Mostly yes because most smiths size and shape to there own hands but some try to size it to the judges hands
Sup profile pic brother
The guy who lost, people should strive to be like him, even when his blade started bending and getting worse he still smiles and laughed through it.
NO trashtalk, just pure skill put to the test. We NEED shows like these.
The guy who lost was super nice, his positivity even after loosing was really sweet
losing
I’m so early I can’t find any “it will KEEL” comments😂
It will KEEL
It will KEEL
The Time Traveler yes it will KEEL
The left guy is so kind and pure I love him so much. Koodos to him for the sportsmanship and having a smile along the way
Why don't they put the officer's sword from the case through the tests? Hmmmm
Yeah that would be cool
Ivan Loar they’re just display
Fun to bring it up though.
because that was an actual museum piece, not a replica.

I think Doug is aware of his meme status now
Sergeant Rainstorm it will meme
I don’t know how to forge, but I’ve watched this show long enough to know that once you have to reheat or requench, your blade will bend or break.
5:04 guess you could say that was "jaw dropping"
There is the door, you can show yourself out now.

That display of sportsmanship just about made me cry. Good show sir, good show.
What an amazing guy.. always smiling
As soon as I saw the guy with the beard, I said “He is going to win this”.
As soon as the other guy put his blade back into the forge after quenching it, knew that was the end.
How these guys are so hard when he Said keel.
"22 tons of squish squish" my favorite line to this day!
I love how Doug turns round with a beaming smile on his face and chats with the smiths with "blood" spattered across his face, like that serial killer who kills a family in their home and sits down to eat soup in their kitchen afterwards. (thanks Bill Burr)
This ones new. I'm excited.
Go Army!
0:14 When you laughing at ww3 memes and get drafted the next day.
Respect for both the contestants and the judges in their grace and class.
i love how humble they are. kudos to you all
"22 tons of squish squish" and that's the technical term?
AutumnSilverWinds yup. Correct as as can be
Yes indeed
It's not but it's pretty explanatory.
If it's not, it should be.
He ruined his heat treat when he heated it up without a quench.
I think so too. However I am curious to know if a second quench would work as well as the first. Maybe the blade was ufixable at that point.
If he had just quenched it it wouldn't be as effective. But if you put the steel through a few normalizing cycles then re quench it you can get as good a quench as you would have the first time.
Excellent show. Watched season 1 three times. Hope it has a long run. Thanks HISTORY!
Well done with your sword. As a marine corps veteran, I will say we marines will give you a great fight. Good luck.
7:43 the sword the guys face goes from 😁😁 to 😐😐

I’ve only seen that guy twice on here, and he hurt himself both times. I think it’s him.

I wanna see a sword that doesn't chip at hitting steel barbed wire
That's the point 🤦♂️ it's supposed to simulate years of wear and tear in 30 seconds. It's supposed to damage the blade they just wanna see how it can sustain the damage.
Really representing vets well. These guys are gentlemen - really, really fine.
the best show!!!
Poor him he looked so innocent(guy in grey shirt
I don't even trust an officer with a map and compass let alone a sharp sword.
So u don't trust 40% of the military
The trouble with officers is the compass, it doesn't have North South East West but rather Eeny Meeny Miney Moe.
