@KackisHD i saw a tip on the bungie forums about killing the meatball with only regular weapon damage. I tried with only outbreak and it dropped first try like that. I had about 8 kills with abilities and supers involved before that never dropped it
I truly don't understand bungies obsession with artifically trying to increase the difficulty of raids. Like even reverting the changes to surges they're still effectively removing overleveling. And more than that, even if you were at light, youre still just randomly doing significantly less damage than before. Like as a solo player of 9 years, I already have enough trouble running raids. Now bungie just wants to make it harder like why? At that point, just add a master difficulty to every raid
When you say "A lot of players liked the changes" you mean roughly 3% at the very pinnacle of the game that complain that the game is too easy. Everyone other player hated it. I saw NOTHING but hate. The ONLY change they should have made was make a new difficulty that you can SELECT. Leave everyone else alone. Hell, even make an easier mode for people that don't no-life the game. Casuals are where the money is at and this makes the game less playable for most players.
A little “heads up” from Bungie before the launch would have been nice. I was looking forward to the new class items. I enjoy the game a lot more as a solo player. I feel like I wasted a lot on money on this expansion only to blocked out (unless I want to partner up with someone and not enjoy myself) of powerful items needed for a better playing experience.

Yeah, that just feels absolutely backwards. On top of that, the lead dev said she wants player to be put outside their comfort zone. That should be player choice, not an always active effect. You are literally getting to the point of telling players to piss off at this rate Bungie, fix this.
Bungie really needs to see the total feedback on these ideas on a 2 or 3 day period on every form of media before saying guardians we are doing this and that to destiny 2 etc
So now the raids are just more difficult without the interest of rotating loadouts? I feel like they did the opposite of what they should have. If you want the raid to be friendlier to newer players, then remove the light cap. The barrier to raids and dungeons is the time sink to run them and learning the mechanics. Not the dps phase. Then, keep the weekly surge so that more experienced players can be incentivised to switch up their builds and try new things. This helps no one.
I feel like raids shouldn’t be new player friendly, seeming as though they are meant to be “endgame content” you can’t make it friendly to new players & give the same rewarding feeling after completing something that’s meant to be hard, can’t have it both ways bro.

The whole premise of a raid in this particular game is to have people who can think on their feet, adapt to their chosen roles, and have clear communication, newer players or casual players would have to work on that overtime in order to be effective in raiding, with that being said, raids are also meant to be for endgame content, when you have put a lot of time into the game to the point you can do pretty much anything. Therefore, making raids easier would not only be killing the enjoyment of a raid, but also killing the rewarding feeling of accomplishing such a feat. For instance, the new raid, hardest raid ever in destiny. This raid is a perfect example of what is required to be any raid , it’s just not forgiving as like the rest of them are. My point is making raids easier would be killing maybe a third of the community who actually enjoy challenge, which then would just make it harder to raid with anyone who enjoys that bit. This is my opinion, not everyone sees it this way.
@SujiOfficial I honestly believe there is a difference in making something that new players could beat with the worst gear vs making something that more casual players who don't take it that seriously would be willing to play the activity. You can have those things regardless of difficulty. Difficulty just adds pressure to it. The thing said below applies here as well. The thing is how more Newer/Casual players supposed to actually learn to raid if they can't do the raid because the message that they come across is that you have to be top 1 percent before you attempt it. It's kinda like when an entry level job where you're supposed to get experience asks for experience. Again those things aren't necessarily dependent on difficulty. If we are looking through a Gamplay only lens then maybe. But even that can sometimes have the opposite effect. A good chuck of players who don't play raids don't do them because they believe they aren't good enough especially when they listen to other people description of the difficulty. There isn't one universal sense of enjoyment or satisfaction. Well considering the context of the last raid it's only logical that if would be difficult. You say that like raids are generally easy. Or like people let just anybody in the team and keep them there. But this is the normal version of the raid we're talking about and from a perspective of a top 10 percent player who enjoy a challenge this would bearly change anything for them. So I don't know how this helps those players. That's the reason master mode exists. Bugie should have just added another difficulty and then like that everyone is actually pleased. Especially the players who actually want a challenge.

Seems to me that this is another example of bungie dictating how they want the players to play the game. Not much of a choice if they only choice is to play it their way.
Instead of removing surges and giving the buff across the board... Why not just remove the hard cap on the base difficulty? This just seems like it's getting more convoluted. Players don't even raid enough, this will just dissuade players from raiding further. They should make the harder difficulties harder as opposed to further raising the ceiling for casual players that barely raid as-is.
Common sense. They should also just always have Pantheon. Lower difficulty single encounters on rotation that casual players can try and get good at. Just have the loot be lower chance or whatever.

Here's my take which is something you see in most big MMO's. If it's not current content, don't make it -5 power cap. It makes no sense to have old content that's been run to death by a good majority of the playerbase be more difficult to farm (even if it's not by a lot) just for the sake of it being harder. Let players farm for armor or weapons easily, it's not going to affect current content much aside from giving newer players or returning players a better experience when grinding for meta weapons that others had years to farm already, as well as allowing people who wanna dress up their guardian to do so more easily. There is genuinely little to no upside from the change, and the surges are only a problem because of the randomly added -5 power cap.
Elden Ring had its DLC release today, and guess what, no server issues, everyone was able to get in the game and play it right away. D2 and TFS DLC is pretty bad currently and If bungie thinks we re gonna continue D2 for the next several more years, then they must be smoking some really good shit. I shouldnt even have purchased the final shape DLC, such a waste of money.
The petty, sneering backlash against solo players basically killed my enthusiasm for the game again, right after the DLC. But I guess I'm just another n00b and have a 'skill issue'. I hate the whole level cap difficulty adjustment they made a season or two ago. It makes leveling your guardian seem absolutely pointless. If I over level and go into a dungeon/raid or w/e that has a recommended power level then let me go into it my level, don't cripple me by sending me in under leveled.

They need to fix some issues. I was doing strikes last night and had invisible guns other players invisible we had to wipe more than once to get mechanics to work that we had to do to progress. This is just a 3 player strike I can't imagine what happens in the 12 player when things like that are happening. They also need to go back on difficulty. If I want to destroy everything then I should be able to do so and if I want more difficult then I should be able to select more difficult activities.
It's not just raids and dungeons tho. Vanguard and regular strikes enemies also do a ridiculous amount of damage. Dual destiny and Cyst enemies are another example where the new enemies just randomly melt tf outve you. Theres no reason this games difficulty needs to be increased this isnt a fkn souls game.
Yeah I have to agree with mono guy here. I won't call it a skill issue but probably a build issue. I solo cyst with greatest of ease as a pvp main. Solo the story on legendary difficulty with minor difficulties. Yeah the new adds and their crowd control is insane sometimes but I mean at some point adapting and overcoming has to play a part in a game that involves progression.

Im complaining because the change is unnecessary and for new or retuning players the game is significantly bumped in difficulty due to ads simply just outputting more damage and being spongier and NOONE ASKED FOR IT. Tryhards and content creators make up only a fraction of the whole player base. More than half are casuals or solo and the new content forces them to simply try harder which is a valid point for certain content but not the base game. That's the point I'm making. Not, "oh boohoo me I can't complete anything cause it's too hard". I've done gm Excision. Master nightfall since release and I have a solid build, it just an unnecessary and dumb change and I object to it.
If players would stop crying every damn season and claiming the game is soooooo damn easy when more than half of the play base doesn’t even play any end game content like grandmaster, raids or dungeons.

D2 of course it is already hard enough because you can have so many people who just struggle to survive even when they are overleveled to hell and back, All I see that doing is making it to where it's even more daunting for people to come in and learn. I already have enough difficulty trying to get people to be honest about the fact that they don't know what's going on. But now there's going to be the added difficulty of those lower skill players are going to be struggling more because they're having to devote more of their focus to living then ingraining the information... They just need to bring back Master modes for everything D1 style which it was hard modes back then I know but same concept that's all they need because you don't need to make the normal mode harder for everyone just make it to where there's a hard mode for everything so that way the people can get their rocks off whenever they want. And what I mean by that is make it a real hard mode. Go fucking wild bungie don't touch the normal mode because people learn they understood this back in 2014!!
I just genuinely don't like things that only appeal to the hardcore fans who are desperate to find fun, I have been playing since day one destiny 1 you can always sidestep certain ways to do encounters if it is boring to you to use a rocket launcher or a grenade launcher

Bro just because you are able to play the harder difficulty it doesnt mean you want to have to deal with that all day bro. Its already annoying enough grinding for good rolls, exotics and red boarders. I played ghost of the deep the other day and realized how much more challenging it was. Maybe they increased the damage in dungeons but they countered that by making almost every enemy a yellow bar enemy. I was playing on normal mode. I tried to play master spire of the watcher at lvl 2002 because it said powercap was at 2010. The enemies power was at 2030!!! Bro the burn out is so much man. I just wanna get some of these rolls and stuff not start another career. I have a life outside of the game and I have a job theres no reason for such extreme difficulty like its a dark souls game. I think the players that want the game to be harder are players whos life is the game. They’re bored because maybe they beat everything or tried everything but they have nothing outside of destiny and they’re just looking for more to do. Try playing a different game, go to the gym, go on a date, get a job, go outside, talk to your FRIENDS OUTSIDE OF VIDEO GAMES, just for the love of god do something other than treat destiny as if its your own personal game. Normal mode should not be increased in difficulty thats the point of selecting different difficulties. Stop nerfing the titan every season. Having a meta build isnt going to give you the skill to beat someone whos better than you. Learn ability counters, map control etc. ward of dawn and well of radiance were not op supers. They were easily beatable with suppression grenade. You could win by suspending them etc.
just my opinion, im not a fan of the -5 for the harder content personally, add it to higher tiers. I dont mind a challenge, but having a -5 on normal for raids is a bit much. put for the hard mode.
As a solo player, this expansion is a bit of a let down. It seems almost everything is tied to teams. In other expansions there were at least plenty of solo content.
Surges should be there to improve things not catch back up. The Delta -5 change was a poor decision, making harder content should be at the Master and Grandmaster level, Normal is for entry level "endgame." I'm glad that Bungie is walking some of this back, even if they're doing it in the most haphazard way possible.
At night the severs are so damn laggy that my character and weapons don’t load in, even during activities. Can’t inspect weapons cause they just don’t load
VoG used to be the go to raid to teach people how to raid, tried to raid with newlight friends who where returning to the game, and my god, the changes have made it so much more difficult
Great change by Bungie, I to have a vault full of weapons, but being forced to play a certain way is not fun. Let us play our way, stop with all these surges and such it makes the game so boring and annoying, and puts off new players.
Base Raids are hard enough as it is ,if you want it to be harder, you can always select a harder difficulty, but hard core players seem to want to ruin the game for anyone who isn’t as sweaty as they are. I have a job and a family. I can’t just grind on games 24/7. (As much as I’d like to). I also don’t have 5 raid capable teammates, let alone ones with the same work/sleep schedule as me. But I feel like I should still get to experience the whole game. If you disagree , my question would be why? Why should I not be able to play all the content I paid for? I’m supporting the franchise. Players like me greatly outnumber hard core elitists. We keep bungie fed so they can keep making destiny. Why do you want us to be left out of activities we are paying for? At the end of the day it is just a game. It’s supposed to be fun and challenging. But it shouldn’t be so challenging that half or more of the player base is left out.
How about instead of capping people off and forcing them not to care about playing for better gear anymore, just make differnet difficulty raids and one of them scales with your level like this but the other ones are a set level. Then people who want to get to light 2050 and completely dedtroy bosses, still can and the people who want a challenge, still can. Stop limiting people when they should be rewarded for playing alot
Did bungie forget they nerfed every exotic in the game by 10% damage output yes they brought legendary weapons in line a bit but still now adding this this is ridiculous new light or inexperienced players that don’t have certain weapons are just gonna be kicked or have a miserable time I would of understood if prismatic was receiving these new raid difficulties if you run that class you run into these new bench marks but for all classes root of nightmares is a minimum now 3 phase because of well nerf and bubble they want us to play with other things then don’t make have to revert back to those super make the other one better than to make up for this

lol- massive debate about raid surges and the drop in DPS huh, well who saw that coming.... The writing is always on the wall for these things, Bungie and Sony care about engagement (butts in seats grinding hours away in the game - kind of like a casino). Which means less people doing raids and dungeons for whatever reason is a NO-NO; anything that blocks this engagement is a potential customer walking away to play another game. Sony does not want to lose a player (short or long term) which they can't afford to do considering the cost of maintaining the infrastructure and continual development for this game. What was the number of the player base doing raids back in 2015 - 18%, then last year that dropped to 11%, wonder what that is now?
why wouldn't they just let the surge effect our weapons positively like ok arc surge in play thunderlord gets 25% bonus dmg but your void and solar weapons arent impacted in anyway and if they are weapons related to artifact mods treat them as if a surge is applied....this would broaden the weapon pool and allow a work around while also making non meta weapons have a place in the sandbox
the raid/dungeon damage system was so much better before. Just let me over level it if I put in the time to grind and let the higher difficulties be the capped modes with all the wild modifiers
There has been a long push by segments of the playerbase to kill the light level grind. These kinds of caps are part of the processes unfortunately with a game that doesn't follow a traditional power leveling system which itself was voiced heavily against since D1.
Trick for Khvostov. If you have 16 motes put them into your vault. Then go kill the meatball. After one or two tries it'll drop the exotic mote. You'll still have the other 16 motes in ya vault. But thata what worked for me.
Dunno I got the exotict from the one in the impasse, not meatball. I got my final normal 'missing' mote from the searing. Ive seen several people that have had that one fail or it was missing.

My issue is the duos, tried class item on lfg a couple of times and both guys I tried it with couldn’t call out etc. Tried walking them through it but no luck. So the exotic heavy and class items are going to be difficult if not impossible for me to get unless I get lucky on LFG
Why not be able to access RAIDS & DUNGEONS with Surges and Without 🤔 wouldn’t that make EVERYONE happy 🤷🏻♂️ and maybe increase the drop rate of the rewards for the hardcore players who are taking on the harder difficulty same way the do with Nightfalls on Normal, Master, Grandmaster? Pretty easy solution, really: Normal mode: Basic raid loot, 5% chance of exotic, one rotating challenge per week, or even per day! Master mode: adept raid loot, artifice armor with ability to focus a certain stat, 10 % chance of exotic drop, all challenges at a time. Contest mode: -25 power, random surges, exclusive cosmetics including glowing weapon and armor ornaments for doing challenges, 25% chance of exotic.
Since i started playing Destiny 2, the only constant thing was server issues with pretty much every new content launch. I have not experienced instability and frequency of this magnitude with any other game that i have ever played. Be it new season or DLC, Bungie's reaction is always the same surprised "how could we have known that people will want to play the content, that we have been teasing for months and months???" Pikachu face. When they boasted how Witch Queen sold over 1 million copies long before the launch, cheapest option was 40 euros. And you would think that of that 40+ million, they would spend at least a few euros on the infrastructure. But no. Service stability is way way over the competence level of Bungie.

I don't see why they hate the idea of people over leveling. That's the power fantasy, you aren't just a Guardian, you are THE Guardian. In many MMO games you absolutely can over level and crush and that's fun, that's the power fantasy. Otherwise what's the point? Why bother getting all this gear and upgrading if the end result is you still feel the same as you did when you started.
Sad replace your luffa every 30 days it even says on them to do so...literally you should never use the same wash cloth or bathing items more then once or twice without washing them... the reason is when you wash your body you are taking off all kinds of amino acids and fat or fatty acids... now after it sits and drys it starts to grow bacteria wich eats the acids and turns them to yeast... so if you wash yourself after this has happened... well you get a yeast infection... or worse bacteria or fungal infections... also not sure if I said it backwards or not but either way always wash your wash cloth and never use a luffa longer then 30 days!!! Don't use silicone it's dumb... can u wash it? Duh?

If they remained silent for the dual destiny problem, they should have not reverse the difficulty changes. They didn't say anything about the dual destiny, they should also on that logic, not inform the players about the difficulty changes. Such hypocrits.
Hot take raids aren’t and shouldn’t be end game. Why limit an activity to just people who put in 4-7 hours a day into the game. No normal person can do that. I have friends that work 9-5s that can only play a couple times a week and they never raid due to the fact they can’t get the right load outs for raids. Making it harder just makes it unachievable. End game should stick to master difficulty activities and gms. I play the game a lot and still struggle on master raids.
Yeah... I wasn't a fan of Raids before because it took hours if you weren't over leveled, not its impossible with LFG. Bungie killed engame for 95% of players, but hopefully this patch is better.
To be fair, I was never going to raid anyway but this sure does make me less likely to even try it. Having to figure out all the mechanics while getting destroyed for being a lower level. That's one thing I wish, as a newer player, that they had more of... Is solo missions that you can practice all the different game mechanics so if I jump on a multiplayer activity, I already have an idea of what to do. Sure, the stories have some, and the Pale Heart has a bunch of different puzzles to practice on but it would be nice to have a solo nightfall activity that mimics the multiplayer one since I can barely keep up or even see what they did to understand the mechanics. I don't even care if you don't get any loot for it. Just something to help catch up with all the veteran players.

Honestly, Destiny has one of the biggest crybaby communities I've ever seen. People complain en mass about difficult content and having to find a singular partner to run a glorified strike (duality), and they want to he spoonfed the best gear for running around in patrol essentially.

This is the lowest interest I’ve ever seen in my clan, from a possible plus 20 if you were fully levelled to go fuck yourself everyone at minus 5, I’ve done at least 2 Sherpa’s in old raids this season, one took 4 hours, I can’t do this anymore.
In all honesty vault that I occasionally bring out from time to time I don't always use the same loadout Alan pull out certain weapons in case I absolutely need to like with certain raids and stuff like that I'm a returning player and won't affect me none whatsoever I barely do raids and dungeons in this game unless I absolutely have to to get like good weapons and stuff like that that's why you have to make a build that can literally do high damage I use a lot of stasis weapons in any of my b builds but the fact that Bungie did kind of do this is kind of interesting to say the least it makes things harder to dungeons yes but it'll probably make it more fun makes you be on your toes and make sure you try to actually work for your rewards I think this is somewhat of a good thing but also a negative thing as well I just generally believed should work hard to get certain rewards and bungees making abundantly clear on that now shoot last season I did a Kings fall raid before a bunch of people that I never even met and they pretty much almost one shotted everything we only did two damage phases to oryx and it didn't take very long to beat him
Surges artifact mods, in just about everything that forces you to play in a certain way I think actually hinders the game. People should be able to use whatever subclass and whatever weapons they want at all times I know some people would mad Max the hell out of that but you have a lot of players that just want to have fun

I tried with only outbreak and it dropped first try like that.
I had about 8 kills with abilities and supers involved before that never dropped it

I truly don't understand bungies obsession with artifically trying to increase the difficulty of raids. Like even reverting the changes to surges they're still effectively removing overleveling. And more than that, even if you were at light, youre still just randomly doing significantly less damage than before. Like as a solo player of 9 years, I already have enough trouble running raids. Now bungie just wants to make it harder like why? At that point, just add a master difficulty to every raid
When you say "A lot of players liked the changes" you mean roughly 3% at the very pinnacle of the game that complain that the game is too easy. Everyone other player hated it. I saw NOTHING but hate.
The ONLY change they should have made was make a new difficulty that you can SELECT. Leave everyone else alone. Hell, even make an easier mode for people that don't no-life the game. Casuals are where the money is at and this makes the game less playable for most players.

A little “heads up” from Bungie before the launch would have been nice. I was looking forward to the new class items. I enjoy the game a lot more as a solo player. I feel like I wasted a lot on money on this expansion only to blocked out (unless I want to partner up with someone and not enjoy myself) of powerful items needed for a better playing experience.
Bungie should have done the opposite and removed the minus 5 power. The surges should have been a choice to the player, not a requirement.

If you do the numbers, surges actually make you do less damage other than without them (25% for only the surges instead of 35% across the board)

So now the raids are just more difficult without the interest of rotating loadouts? I feel like they did the opposite of what they should have. If you want the raid to be friendlier to newer players, then remove the light cap. The barrier to raids and dungeons is the time sink to run them and learning the mechanics. Not the dps phase. Then, keep the weekly surge so that more experienced players can be incentivised to switch up their builds and try new things. This helps no one.
I feel like raids shouldn’t be new player friendly, seeming as though they are meant to be “endgame content” you can’t make it friendly to new players & give the same rewarding feeling after completing something that’s meant to be hard, can’t have it both ways bro.

The whole premise of a raid in this particular game is to have people who can think on their feet, adapt to their chosen roles, and have clear communication, newer players or casual players would have to work on that overtime in order to be effective in raiding, with that being said, raids are also meant to be for endgame content, when you have put a lot of time into the game to the point you can do pretty much anything. Therefore, making raids easier would not only be killing the enjoyment of a raid, but also killing the rewarding feeling of accomplishing such a feat. For instance, the new raid, hardest raid ever in destiny. This raid is a perfect example of what is required to be any raid , it’s just not forgiving as like the rest of them are. My point is making raids easier would be killing maybe a third of the community who actually enjoy challenge, which then would just make it harder to raid with anyone who enjoys that bit. This is my opinion, not everyone sees it this way.

The thing is how more Newer/Casual players supposed to actually learn to raid if they can't do the raid because the message that they come across is that you have to be top 1 percent before you attempt it.
It's kinda like when an entry level job where you're supposed to get experience asks for experience.

If we are looking through a Gamplay only lens then maybe.
But even that can sometimes have the opposite effect.
A good chuck of players who don't play raids don't do them because they believe they aren't good enough especially when they listen to other people description of the difficulty.
There isn't one universal sense of enjoyment or satisfaction.
Well considering the context of the last raid it's only logical that if would be difficult.

Instead of removing surges and giving the buff across the board... Why not just remove the hard cap on the base difficulty? This just seems like it's getting more convoluted. Players don't even raid enough, this will just dissuade players from raiding further. They should make the harder difficulties harder as opposed to further raising the ceiling for casual players that barely raid as-is.

Here's my take which is something you see in most big MMO's. If it's not current content, don't make it -5 power cap. It makes no sense to have old content that's been run to death by a good majority of the playerbase be more difficult to farm (even if it's not by a lot) just for the sake of it being harder. Let players farm for armor or weapons easily, it's not going to affect current content much aside from giving newer players or returning players a better experience when grinding for meta weapons that others had years to farm already, as well as allowing people who wanna dress up their guardian to do so more easily. There is genuinely little to no upside from the change, and the surges are only a problem because of the randomly added -5 power cap.
One thing I've always enjoyed about destiny is how activities get easier as you level up. Or wtf is the point lol.
Elden Ring had its DLC release today, and guess what, no server issues, everyone was able to get in the game and play it right away. D2 and TFS DLC is pretty bad currently and If bungie thinks we re gonna continue D2 for the next several more years, then they must be smoking some really good shit. I shouldnt even have purchased the final shape DLC, such a waste of money.

I hate the whole level cap difficulty adjustment they made a season or two ago. It makes leveling your guardian seem absolutely pointless. If I over level and go into a dungeon/raid or w/e that has a recommended power level then let me go into it my level, don't cripple me by sending me in under leveled.

They need to fix some issues. I was doing strikes last night and had invisible guns other players invisible we had to wipe more than once to get mechanics to work that we had to do to progress. This is just a 3 player strike I can't imagine what happens in the 12 player when things like that are happening. They also need to go back on difficulty. If I want to destroy everything then I should be able to do so and if I want more difficult then I should be able to select more difficult activities.
It's not just raids and dungeons tho. Vanguard and regular strikes enemies also do a ridiculous amount of damage. Dual destiny and Cyst enemies are another example where the new enemies just randomly melt tf outve you. Theres no reason this games difficulty needs to be increased this isnt a fkn souls game.

Yeah I have to agree with mono guy here. I won't call it a skill issue but probably a build issue. I solo cyst with greatest of ease as a pvp main. Solo the story on legendary difficulty with minor difficulties. Yeah the new adds and their crowd control is insane sometimes but I mean at some point adapting and overcoming has to play a part in a game that involves progression.

Im complaining because the change is unnecessary and for new or retuning players the game is significantly bumped in difficulty due to ads simply just outputting more damage and being spongier and NOONE ASKED FOR IT. Tryhards and content creators make up only a fraction of the whole player base. More than half are casuals or solo and the new content forces them to simply try harder which is a valid point for certain content but not the base game. That's the point I'm making. Not, "oh boohoo me I can't complete anything cause it's too hard". I've done gm Excision. Master nightfall since release and I have a solid build, it just an unnecessary and dumb change and I object to it.

All I see that doing is making it to where it's even more daunting for people to come in and learn. I already have enough difficulty trying to get people to be honest about the fact that they don't know what's going on. But now there's going to be the added difficulty of those lower skill players are going to be struggling more because they're having to devote more of their focus to living then ingraining the information... They just need to bring back Master modes for everything D1 style which it was hard modes back then I know but same concept that's all they need because you don't need to make the normal mode harder for everyone just make it to where there's a hard mode for everything so that way the people can get their rocks off whenever they want. And what I mean by that is make it a real hard mode. Go fucking wild bungie don't touch the normal mode because people learn they understood this back in 2014!!

This is all good but no one is mentioning that Neptune has mobs that are way above 2000. Not in legend lost sectors just in main areas.

Its already annoying enough grinding for good rolls, exotics and red boarders. I played ghost of the deep the other day and realized how much more challenging it was. Maybe they increased the damage in dungeons but they countered that by making almost every enemy a yellow bar enemy. I was playing on normal mode. I tried to play master spire of the watcher at lvl 2002 because it said powercap was at 2010. The enemies power was at 2030!!! Bro the burn out is so much man. I just wanna get some of these rolls and stuff not start another career. I have a life outside of the game and I have a job theres no reason for such extreme difficulty like its a dark souls game. I think the players that want the game to be harder are players whos life is the game. They’re bored because maybe they beat everything or tried everything but they have nothing outside of destiny and they’re just looking for more to do. Try playing a different game, go to the gym, go on a date, get a job, go outside, talk to your FRIENDS OUTSIDE OF VIDEO GAMES, just for the love of god do something other than treat destiny as if its your own personal game. Normal mode should not be increased in difficulty thats the point of selecting different difficulties. Stop nerfing the titan every season. Having a meta build isnt going to give you the skill to beat someone whos better than you. Learn ability counters, map control etc. ward of dawn and well of radiance were not op supers. They were easily beatable with suppression grenade. You could win by suspending them etc.

just my opinion, im not a fan of the -5 for the harder content personally, add it to higher tiers. I dont mind a challenge, but having a -5 on normal for raids is a bit much. put for the hard mode.
As a solo player, this expansion is a bit of a let down. It seems almost everything is tied to teams. In other expansions there were at least plenty of solo content.

At night the severs are so damn laggy that my character and weapons don’t load in, even during activities. Can’t inspect weapons cause they just don’t load

Great change by Bungie, I to have a vault full of weapons, but being forced to play a certain way is not fun. Let us play our way, stop with all these surges and such it makes the game so boring and annoying, and puts off new players.
Base Raids are hard enough as it is ,if you want it to be harder, you can always select a harder difficulty, but hard core players seem to want to ruin the game for anyone who isn’t as sweaty as they are. I have a job and a family. I can’t just grind on games 24/7. (As much as I’d like to). I also don’t have 5 raid capable teammates, let alone ones with the same work/sleep schedule as me. But I feel like I should still get to experience the whole game. If you disagree , my question would be why? Why should I not be able to play all the content I paid for? I’m supporting the franchise. Players like me greatly outnumber hard core elitists. We keep bungie fed so they can keep making destiny. Why do you want us to be left out of activities we are paying for? At the end of the day it is just a game. It’s supposed to be fun and challenging. But it shouldn’t be so challenging that half or more of the player base is left out.

The writing is always on the wall for these things, Bungie and Sony care about engagement (butts in seats grinding hours away in the game - kind of like a casino). Which means less people doing raids and dungeons for whatever reason is a NO-NO; anything that blocks this engagement is a potential customer walking away to play another game. Sony does not want to lose a player (short or long term) which they can't afford to do considering the cost of maintaining the infrastructure and continual development for this game. What was the number of the player base doing raids back in 2015 - 18%, then last year that dropped to 11%, wonder what that is now?

why wouldn't they just let the surge effect our weapons positively like ok arc surge in play thunderlord gets 25% bonus dmg but your void and solar weapons arent impacted in anyway and if they are weapons related to artifact mods treat them as if a surge is applied....this would broaden the weapon pool and allow a work around while also making non meta weapons have a place in the sandbox
the raid/dungeon damage system was so much better before. Just let me over level it if I put in the time to grind and let the higher difficulties be the capped modes with all the wild modifiers
There has been a long push by segments of the playerbase to kill the light level grind. These kinds of caps are part of the processes unfortunately with a game that doesn't follow a traditional power leveling system which itself was voiced heavily against since D1.

Trick for Khvostov. If you have 16 motes put them into your vault. Then go kill the meatball. After one or two tries it'll drop the exotic mote. You'll still have the other 16 motes in ya vault. But thata what worked for me.

Dunno I got the exotict from the one in the impasse, not meatball. I got my final normal 'missing' mote from the searing. Ive seen several people that have had that one fail or it was missing.

My issue is the duos, tried class item on lfg a couple of times and both guys I tried it with couldn’t call out etc. Tried walking them through it but no luck. So the exotic heavy and class items are going to be difficult if not impossible for me to get unless I get lucky on LFG

Why not be able to access RAIDS & DUNGEONS with Surges and Without 🤔 wouldn’t that make EVERYONE happy 🤷🏻♂️ and maybe increase the drop rate of the rewards for the hardcore players who are taking on the harder difficulty same way the do with Nightfalls on Normal, Master, Grandmaster? Just a thought 💭
Pretty easy solution, really:
Normal mode: Basic raid loot, 5% chance of exotic, one rotating challenge per week, or even per day!
Master mode: adept raid loot, artifice armor with ability to focus a certain stat, 10 % chance of exotic drop, all challenges at a time.
Contest mode: -25 power, random surges, exclusive cosmetics including glowing weapon and armor ornaments for doing challenges, 25% chance of exotic.
Since i started playing Destiny 2, the only constant thing was server issues with pretty much every new content launch. I have not experienced instability and frequency of this magnitude with any other game that i have ever played. Be it new season or DLC, Bungie's reaction is always the same surprised "how could we have known that people will want to play the content, that we have been teasing for months and months???" Pikachu face. When they boasted how Witch Queen sold over 1 million copies long before the launch, cheapest option was 40 euros. And you would think that of that 40+ million, they would spend at least a few euros on the infrastructure. But no. Service stability is way way over the competence level of Bungie.
Bro just because you are able to play the harder difficulty it doesnt mean you want to have to deal with that all day bro. Its already annoying enough grinding for good rolls, exotics and red boarders. I played ghost of the deep the other day and realized how much more challenging it was. Maybe they increased the damage in dungeons but they countered that by making almost every enemy a yellow bar enemy. I was playing on normal mode. I tried to play master spire of the watcher at lvl 2002 because it said powercap was at 2010. The enemies power was at 2030!!! Bro the burn out is so much man. I just wanna get some of these rolls and stuff not start another career. I have a life outside of the game and I have a job theres no reason for such extreme difficulty like its a dark souls game. I think the players that want the game to be harder are players whos life is the game. They’re bored because maybe they beat everything or tried everything but they have nothing outside of destiny and they’re just looking for more to do. Try playing a different game, go to the gym, go on a date, get a job, go outside, talk to your FRIENDS OUTSIDE OF VIDEO GAMES, just for the love of god do something other than treat destiny as if its your own personal game. Normal mode should not be increased in difficulty thats the point of selecting different difficulties. Stop nerfing the titan every season. Having a meta build isnt going to give you the skill to beat someone whos better than you. Learn ability counters, map control etc. ward of dawn and well of radiance were not op supers. They were easily beatable with suppression grenade. You could win by suspending them etc.
I don't see why they hate the idea of people over leveling. That's the power fantasy, you aren't just a Guardian, you are THE Guardian. In many MMO games you absolutely can over level and crush and that's fun, that's the power fantasy. Otherwise what's the point? Why bother getting all this gear and upgrading if the end result is you still feel the same as you did when you started.
Sad replace your luffa every 30 days it even says on them to do so...literally you should never use the same wash cloth or bathing items more then once or twice without washing them... the reason is when you wash your body you are taking off all kinds of amino acids and fat or fatty acids... now after it sits and drys it starts to grow bacteria wich eats the acids and turns them to yeast... so if you wash yourself after this has happened... well you get a yeast infection... or worse bacteria or fungal infections... also not sure if I said it backwards or not but either way always wash your wash cloth and never use a luffa longer then 30 days!!! Don't use silicone it's dumb... can u wash it? Duh?

If they remained silent for the dual destiny problem, they should have not reverse the difficulty changes. They didn't say anything about the dual destiny, they should also on that logic, not inform the players about the difficulty changes. Such hypocrits.

Hot take raids aren’t and shouldn’t be end game. Why limit an activity to just people who put in 4-7 hours a day into the game. No normal person can do that. I have friends that work 9-5s that can only play a couple times a week and they never raid due to the fact they can’t get the right load outs for raids. Making it harder just makes it unachievable. End game should stick to master difficulty activities and gms. I play the game a lot and still struggle on master raids.
Yeah... I wasn't a fan of Raids before because it took hours if you weren't over leveled, not its impossible with LFG. Bungie killed engame for 95% of players, but hopefully this patch is better.
To be fair, I was never going to raid anyway but this sure does make me less likely to even try it. Having to figure out all the mechanics while getting destroyed for being a lower level. That's one thing I wish, as a newer player, that they had more of... Is solo missions that you can practice all the different game mechanics so if I jump on a multiplayer activity, I already have an idea of what to do. Sure, the stories have some, and the Pale Heart has a bunch of different puzzles to practice on but it would be nice to have a solo nightfall activity that mimics the multiplayer one since I can barely keep up or even see what they did to understand the mechanics. I don't even care if you don't get any loot for it. Just something to help catch up with all the veteran players.
All of you RUclipsrs kept saying it’s our destiny and that’s how bumble wants to make the game where making our own destiny….but how am I making my own destiny if I have to use guns I don’t want to use 🤷🏻♂️ or even if a team is looking for a arc gun that’s meta that’s actually kinda not fair and the damage buff would just been better I’m on the other side sorry

The best weapon in the game right now is the truth every time you follow a rocket you get two rockets in replacement. You could have a total of nine rockets shooting over and over and over again and no one‘s talking about this.

Honestly, Destiny has one of the biggest crybaby communities I've ever seen. People complain en mass about difficult content and having to find a singular partner to run a glorified strike (duality), and they want to he spoonfed the best gear for running around in patrol essentially.
More difficulty? Good, it's end game so that's not a problem
pigeonholing loadouts? Awful, makes the game feel unfun. Same reason why I don't like champions
Lol that's not the most controversial thing... We all know what the most controversial thing is and that's not being able to solo for class items. Only about 10 percent of the destiny community has the class item. Maybe the 90% should stop playing and let's see if destiny cares then

This is the lowest interest I’ve ever seen in my clan, from a possible plus 20 if you were fully levelled to go fuck yourself everyone at minus 5, I’ve done at least 2 Sherpa’s in old raids this season, one took 4 hours, I can’t do this anymore.
In all honesty vault that I occasionally bring out from time to time I don't always use the same loadout Alan pull out certain weapons in case I absolutely need to like with certain raids and stuff like that I'm a returning player and won't affect me none whatsoever I barely do raids and dungeons in this game unless I absolutely have to to get like good weapons and stuff like that that's why you have to make a build that can literally do high damage I use a lot of stasis weapons in any of my b builds but the fact that Bungie did kind of do this is kind of interesting to say the least it makes things harder to dungeons yes but it'll probably make it more fun makes you be on your toes and make sure you try to actually work for your rewards I think this is somewhat of a good thing but also a negative thing as well I just generally believed should work hard to get certain rewards and bungees making abundantly clear on that now shoot last season I did a Kings fall raid before a bunch of people that I never even met and they pretty much almost one shotted everything we only did two damage phases to oryx and it didn't take very long to beat him
Surges artifact mods, in just about everything that forces you to play in a certain way I think actually hinders the game. People should be able to use whatever subclass and whatever weapons they want at all times I know some people would mad Max the hell out of that but you have a lot of players that just want to have fun
