If people are running somthing and are doing the glitch every run it’s no longer a glitch to most but an “new mechanic”. Bungie should realize that if people are constantly glitching this than a quite obvious change is needed.
Calling a glitch a new mechanic just because a bunch of lazy, greedy players were doing it shows you as a person.
I like how their error messages are still insinuating that there may be a problem with YOUR connection and not their servers. No accountability!

Still invisible weapons and guardians, cannot equip shaders on my character. Cant give commendations in gambit, postmaster so slow at loading must times and doesn't show my inventory so its a double click to see what i have. I've checked my internet speed, latency and rebooting but no luck. Game play seems ok but extremly frustrating to have to deal with this ever time i log on. Maybe put some priority on servers instead of broken crucible weapons, ????? Thanks

I got like 20 drops and I haven't even equipped one of the new class items on my hunter because its not even remotely worth it they all suck, there is only one combo i want and the rest aren't worth using under any circumstance imo. Also why only prismatic wasn't aware of this until i read the comments thats straight bullshit. Also I have like one or two days to play the game a week and I have to farm salvations edge which no matter what anyone says is boring as fuck the second time going through it, way too complex and time consuming to do reclears now i got to farm this class item, I'm out you'll see me at the start of the next episode.
Tldr, prismatic underwhelming, class items bullshit trash, time needed to farm things to the moon, im checking out

@@dongdoodler i got Caliban's with Liars & i have less than 10 exotic class items...its worth farming for, its super fun to use but they defs are worth it plus alot of people like to experiment with different rolls & that's how we find out cool builds. if your into pvp theres defs rolls that are good as well but sounds like your just tired of destiny or getting burned out...as a returning player myself after not playing since dawn..destiny 2 is a blast right now

1. The exotic class items are tied to prismatic. They don’t work with any other element. That just sucks for a start. 2. The drop rate is less than 2 % in overthrow. I’m just ignoring them. I only play as Titan anyway, and according to ALL the RUclipsrs , I suck. 😂
You get them to drop from overthrow chests pretty quickly. I do not believe 2%. Farm chests for an hour and I guarantee you’ll get 1 if not 2

You get one in 40-60 chests on average. If you just focus on being efficient the route for opening 5 chest in the landing takes less than 90 seconds.
Which would mean one class item roughly every 15 minutes.
The class items work on all subclasses lol..

@@StephenCBell influencers are part of the hardcore I’m talking about so yes I’m sure they have. People think of the top .1% as hardcore but really it’s the top 20% or so I was talking about.
For a little perspective just under 20% of people have even completed a single raid and the games been out a decade. If you watch RUclips videos about the game you’re probly in that top 20% so it’s not a problem for ppl in this comment section.

This whole season is designed to force you to waste inordinate amounts of time grinding. Anyone who expected the double exotic glitch to stay should get a reality check.
There are 64 combos per character! Locking it behind a two player non matchmade activity was bad enough but then they expect solo players to spend hours farming patrol zones for a CHANCE at one every hour or so?! Why is it so easy to get ergo sum rolls?? Add class items to pathfinder or or completing overthrow level three like ergo sum. This is ridiculous at this point.
Yeah the class item should've been the Pathfinder reward.Ergo sum being in the pathfinder makes zero sense since there are 2 fucking ways of getting it and one could've been used for better purposes

i get 2 sometimes 3 per hour. if you simply farm chests it takes about the same amount of time to get one to drop from chest as it does to clear the mission
You're not farming efficiently then, doing it properly you can get one every 12 minutes, netting 60 hours to get (a 99% chance at) EVERY roll out there, of the most OP items currently in the game. It's a fuckload, but it's also a looter shooter. I'm disabled and can't play much, and even I've managed to farm a few dozen of them so far. The key is to open ALL the chests, not just overthrow. I usually grab a sniper, ghost mod and run in a circle getting every chest, then if there's a quick overthrow encounter (ie shrieker under the bridge for the landing) I complete it, maybe get a nearby high value target and then loot the chests as they respawn. I'm not even optimized but this way I can watch a show on the side and not get bored.
Dual destiny should just be a matchmade strike

Whole game should be opened up to matchmaking. And they should add a ping system to divert from mic requirements.

Agreed. The fact that it’s not matchmaking really hurts those of us that are unable to find a friend that can play it with us.
Not to mention BOTH players have to have the mission unlocked (understandable, but it was annoying to unlock it imo).

I'd be way more okay with the class exotic if we had dupe protection. but I'm just a fan of dupe protection altogether for a game like destiny.
What would fix this whole class item dilemma would simply be to allow people to decode exotic engram’s just like you can for any other exotic you unlocked. Tbh there is no actual benefit in making this drop such a grind other than wanting force players into engagement
Reason Bungie does anything to stop quote "Glitches" is cause they use us for the tests and more when it comes to the drops otherwise they would've known this happens.
Along with that is they need player retention so they can say "Hey look we had so many people play our game it's so great we are able to get more money." So anytime this happens it never surprises me and why once you do the mission just farm pale heart to get quests/bounties/Pathfinder or weapon rolls you wanted done, makes it all better.
Try being a solo player I was only able to run the mission once I've had to farm chest for every other drop but I do recall most the community saying to just to grow up and run it, etc but now that the mission only gets one drop as designed now its bad what a bunch of hypocrites

These company worry about every little thing, but one major problem is a server they need to fix that first before they go. Next step. It’s unplayable most of the time.
3 weeks of dead space is not something I need to worry about being bad at the game and not having done dual destiny looked at the raid or any end game activities lol.
It’s wild how glitches are often the thing that so many fans enjoy the most about Destiny, when there’s no new campaign at least lol. Ergo Sum itself is absolutely a result of, “The Craftening.” Next one that comes to mind is, “Laser Tag” Crucible when Prometheus Lens dropped LOL. And the granddaddy of them all: 9-Man / 12-Man Escalation Protocol and Raids! Of course, that glitch is the reason Excision exists. Lol 4 of the best features of The Final Shape so far center around glitches 😂… Ergo Sum, Excision, Double Drops Dual Destiny, and the 40% Arc Grenade which just got nerfed. There’s another, “unexpected interaction” that was recently fixed that people were loving too, I can’t remember what it was. Something on Hunters, I think. 😂😅

i wonder if people would be up in arms about this dual destiny fix, if the bug was never in the game to begin with and you always got one class item from the activity... i get that class item spawn rates in the pale heart should probably be increased to compensate for this change but the double class item was never supposed to be in the game anyways and EVERYONE knew it... and it takes nothing away from how good the mission is before even reaching the class items

Dude the mission is not that long and it’s quite easy, you can just chill with a friend while doing it. Takes like 35 minutes tops
@@ergos1422 people started making glitch videos two days after the mission came out… after they were singing praises for how good the mission was and casuals started getting mad cause it was a duo mission and couldn’t run it solo since they had no friends apparently😕
These prismatic items are guaranteed after an activity that's easier and required less people than a raid. But yeah this bug fix "ruined" our experience. Sure LOL

Unless it's a bug, I've been able to get random rolls from Rahool by turning in Exotic engrams without focusing them into anything specific.
Again, it could totally be a bug or glitch, but it's still happening...at least for me

I looked into it, and safe to say the engram part's probably a bug (seeing if you're not actually lying). The only way to get them (naturally) is through the Dual Destiny activity or randomly acquiring them from chests around the Pale Heart AFTER finishing the activity for your first time.

They did the same thing with menagerie seasons ago. Bungie patches glitches and shortcuts super fast. They still haven't fixed their server issues.

@rexgreyback4778 LFG sucks, and a mandatory 2p activity should just be matchmade to get rid of the need. Not everyone likes to co-op everything. Strikes can be beaten solo, as can content up to Grandmaster. Dungeons too. PvP with the exception of sweat/tryhard modes like Comp or Trials too. Raids can't, and Solos tend to be fine with that.
No other exotic mission before this DLC REQUIRED help. They could be solo'd, more or less. Now two are locked behind duo-locked missions. It's kinda bullshit.
I have absolutely no way to earn the exotic class item. I have no friends and absolutely horrible social anxiety. It sucks

You also have to remember that there are people like me that can only play for an hour or so every other day because of home stuff. So this is more than enough content for me.
I believe they should let us focus the class item. When you think about it. players who have been playing for a while have a lot of exotic engrams so why not spend them on the exotic class item.

Majority of you streamers are ignoring the anger of solo players regarding the class item and there not being a way to get it solo, when Bungie only listens to you. How is the outrage over the fix to the double class item exploit any different than the solo player outrage? Oh, because it affects YOU now. You guys love the mission so much, play it that much more to get your rolls. You insist on wearing the fact that you can play with someone else to help carry you through the game as a badge of honor to shove in solo players' faces when they have problems with the game. Enjoy playing the mission twice as much. I have NO sympathy for you.

Here's the thing, Dual Destiny wasn't even the best way to farm for drops with the double loot. The mission is still fun and anyone that wants to enjoy fun activities can still play and enjoy it. There has been way too much drama about all this already and it really isn't that big of a deal. I'm honestly more annoyed that no one can pronounce Ergo Sum correctly.
Running the mission if you have a good partner is still faster than running around opening chests

First of all; no class item exotic should ever have been locked behind any type of multiplayer wall when most of the player base id known to be solo players. Secondly, if you are using skips then you are not even playing it the way it is intended but you are upset that they stopped your cheating the system and getting double items.... Just stop whining! Just to be clear, I am a solo player with ASD, hence the reason for being a solo player. To complain about them cutting off your double loot is just ridiculously immature.

After you do the quest and get your 1st one, just farm chest running the pale heart. I do like 30-45 minutes and get one or two a day.
It be nice if they added the exotic class items to Pathfinder rewards like Ergo Sum. The amount of Ergo Sums I have is ridiculous, and it be nice to see an exotic class item as a potential reward from them.

like sure its fun having the ballistic shield playstyle but having a 3 minute cooldown is frustrating and not fun, not to mention the hitbox is wonky and you can get headshotted through the shield in PVP

Yea hate to say it but it’s going to probably be better now for duel destiny. I’ve helped a good few people how to do the quest and some of the stories I hear where people don’t have friends or they have a disability and so most people would ignore them and not help them.
Plus you had 2 weeks to do it. The only people that are really complaining are those who spends hours a day or [ cough cough] stream or upload a video as. Your job. Hmmmmm. Love how destiny went from a looter shooter to now what ever it is. At this point bungie should just get rid of the power score as most of yous complain about everything on the game.

Personally, not having the double exotic glitch just means that either you have it be up to grinding a mission for one or hoping RNG is decent to even get one. For Dual Destiny, personally it takes me around 35-50 minutes for a run with my brother while grinding the Landing chest route gives atleast one Exotic per Overthrow Level but occasionally chests won't spawn in areas or I wouldn't get one until I'm nearly done with Overthrow Level 2 with the likely singular high-level target kill on the way. Sure, Dual Destiny may not be as good for getting the class item as it was but it is definetly the best method for people with terrible RNG for getting it from chests (for example, someone ran the route a hundred or so times and never got a single Exotic class item). Dual Destiny can be more efficient and reliable for getting the exotic class items within an average amount of time the mission would take for you over getting it completely randomly out of random Chests in the Pale Heart (High Value, Overthrow, Corrupted mini-game chests, and randomly spawning).
For Dual Destiny, you just need communication, time, and memory to do the mission over and over again in a decent amount of time.
For the Pale Heart, it can be done solo or matchmade for casual Overthrow, or farmed with a route but heavily requires time to farm the route and decent RNG. Both have their pros and cons but both are still somewhat reliable in different ways.
Just my view on it personally but likely not shared as I never used the glitch and very likely have a different perspective than such person who was able to use the glitch.

how i would have done dual destiny is to have 2 versions of it , a normal mode without the timer and death hinders progress if there is any , 2nd mode lets call it expert has everything that the mission has but has double loot at the end , it might go some way appeasing every one .
I didn’t really like the mission. Personally I like jumping puzzles and add clearing, but don’t really care for Raid/Dungeon type mechanics (in a mission). I really think Missions should be solo-able.
I definitely didn’t want to run the mission again even for two drops.

lol this is the problem with the community. We have a child like understanding of everything.
They know exactly how long the activity will take and they added a specific number of exotic perks (8 each slot). So using the power of math they designed it that way, to have a specific amount of time most players would have to grind in order to get the best loot. Maybe they started with more perks or fewer and maybe the activity was shorter or longer... they landed on this design on purpose.
The exploit, obviously, broke that and cut the total activity time investment in half for most players... Then we'd complain about content droughts. lol we are so dumb.

Making shitty rng just to keep people engaged in an activity is poor game design. Unfortunately this series lacks the proper replay value so they exploit their fanbase into unnecessary grinds in order to keep up with the “meta”. It’s kind of something they can’t control though because this game uniquely mixes RPG elements with fps which means they don’t excel particularly well at one of those aspects

When crafting came out, people praised it for being able to guarantee god rolls. But ut was unhealthy for the game moving forward as players that got all the guns had no point in coming back to play the activity besides doing it for fun (ie doesn't ng speedruns and low mans).

I spend anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes doing the mission with random people to get the exact same roll just burns me out. Same with grinding the chests, went over an hour yesterday before a caps dropped one I already own i didn't play much D2 afterwards

When has bungie ever let a fun/efficient glitch rock? There’s no point in doing dual destiny after getting it done on all 3 characters as it is. Just farm chests in the landing. Ur almost guaranteed 1-2 by the time you reach the boss of the overthrow unless ur RNG just flat out hates you. The only thing I’m actually annoyed with is the old raids being -5 on normal.

Absolutely. From Bungie's point of view, you "getting the roll you want" is "not healthy for the game", why? Because they believe (incorrectly) that IF YOU GET THE ROLL YOU WANT YOU WILL STOP PLAYING. It's an unhinged, insane point of view, but it's absolutely what they believe. So their goal is to force you to play as long as they think they can force you to without getting what you want.
There's research that shows that increasing player frustration corresponds to longer playtime and more money spent. It's a dark pattern that Destiny 100% subscribes to. And you can see it in nearly every decision they make.

You can get the class exotic item through overthrow public events, and if you’re doing story missions they have a chance of dropping. I usually get the exotic after 1-2 overthrow’s. If l am lucky I get it from 1 overthrow. Also going up a phase in the overthrow, all of the chests respawn. So you can hit 4-5 chest each phase, including after the boss. It is a lot of grinding, but after an hour I get about 2-4 class exotic items. I am just still trying to get the roll I want but I haven’t been lucky lol

Ive done this mission 10+ times and its not fun on repeat playthroughs. I have my routes and understanding down but thats not alwasy the case with randoms.
It can take 20 mins, or we could be almost out of time. The fact that all the content creators are mad about the double class item glitch shows that the mission gets repetitive on multiple runs.
I think there needs to be a alternative to unlock the class items so anyone can get them. And there needs to be a better method for farming them.
Make it to where you can unlock them through a vender as a 1 time thing. This way people can actually get them without it being locked behind this mission

People don't want to listen to me when I say this, but Bungie's whole schtick is boosting your play time to as high a number as possible WITHOUT giving you what you are trying to get. And the inevitable response I get is, "Why would Bungie care about playtime? Shut up you're stupid". And those folks are simply not paying attention. When they fixed this cheese, THEY KNEW they were doubling the time it would take people to get the roll they want. Obviously the most basic reasoning applies: they extended your playtime because they want to.
Every decision Bungie makes is designed to get you to play longer. I work in the software industry, I can't comment on their *specific* reasons but I CAN say they would not make that decision without data indicating that increased playtime is beneficial to Bungie. More than likely, for their specific reasons, more hours played = more $$ spent in Eververse, as this is usually the correlation you see in most games (it's due to the sunk cost fallacy - you've committed to the game, so you spend more money on it to avoid "losing" your investment.).
Every bug they quickly fix, every cheese they immediately address, will be because leaving it in the game reduces your playtime (so for Crucible for example, they'd note increased quitting or reduced player base outside of norm). Note the ones they leave sitting around for years - no effect on playtime (like the Lake of Shadows boss cheese).

Yup that’s how the majority of lootbox based games work unfortunately. Once u put some money in you almost feel married to the product. Now on there part it makes sense since they are not releasing yearly games and instead just adding expansions. This game has a small niche fanbase as it is so they probably prioritize profits more than anything

Also to add, they never actually fixed the riven cheese till this day, and I can definitely tell you rn that glitch DEFINITELY lowers play time.

Just so some you get an idea to what bad luck is when it comes to the exotic quest. I have farmed 54 unique exotic items not including duplicates on my hunter. That has taken me 30+ hours. I have done it all through lfg as I have no freinds who have played it with me. I still have not gotten the item I want. That is absolutely ridiculous and needs to change. There needs to be dupe protection. It is so boring playing a 25min plus mission just for a dupe at the end. I can’t believe I’m seeing comments saying they should keep it this way. It has taken me 30+ hours WITH THE GLITCH! Can you imagine how long it would take to even get this far without it. Absolutely insane for anyone to argue otherwise.

Imagine if that bug was mostly beneficial with no harm to the actual game and they patch it. You can still do the vault from any activity glitch because they specifically stated that they are going to keep that bug in the game until they can turn it into a full feature. They do this all the time because not all bugs are bad. If they follow this mindset we wouldn't have nearly as many nice things as we have because the bugs that caused them to even come up would have just been patched.

I hate that I still randomly get invisible guardians or my own guardian and weapon goes invisible. I also wish they would allow us to chose to load into a player filled pale heart or a solo pale heart and not just have a giant world feel so empty if none of your friends are on
I wouldn't mind the double loot bug getting fixed if there was some more control over getting the roll you want. Having 64 different combinations with no source of roll/dupe protection makes getting what you actually want even harder. It would be nice if they let you do what Warhammer 40K: Darktide does where you can consume a weapon to earn a blessing/trait to be able to apply to that said trait to another weapon of the same type. this helps protect you from getting a gun with a really good trait but bad stats since you can instead place the trait you want on a gun with the stats you want. Being able to consume a single spirit for a class item and then letting you craft them with only the spirits you've unlocked would help with some bad RNG since you would only have to work with a 1/8 chance for the single trait you want.

There are some of us like myself who still haven't found someone to run dual destiny to get the class item the first time.
I see way too many people saying "It was intended to drop as one per mission" when im pretty sure the same type of people complained about the mission requiring 2 players and that exotic class items were locked behind that. I did the math and lets just say that the "rare chance" to get the item from chests is 1%, that would mean that its a 1/100 chests it'd drop right?
You can farm 5 chests in the landing in about 5 - 10 minutes give or take (sometimes 3), so getting 100 would take up to an hour per 100 chests IF YOU DONT GET LUCKY (again, give or take). The mission gives one every 25 minutes or so, a whole 75% lower time to get if you DONT count having to go to LFG, but I can see why the mission would be heavily underutilized without the 2 exotic glitch, because of the amount of time it takes to get a partner, so now the most optimal method of gaining said item is chests. Now... Would i still recommend doing the mission once? Absolutely. Would i recommend farming the mission? No. Would i recommend farming chests? Depends on how bored you are, personally not for me.
I myself am taking a break from D2 as i personally got all the fun i needed from the campaign and I do not intend to run around like an idiot for chests for a roll that has a 1/64 possible rolls to drop without dupe protection, either they remove dupe protection, or find a more effective method of farming thats both fun AND effective. Because while the mission can be fun, it aint effective. And grinding chests isnt fun but it is effective. **Please be civil when replying**

Idk I’m a solo that got over the initial disappointment cause prismatic is still fun without it, and I can’t raid or dungeon so I don’t have a reason to really puff up my build.

Most of us can’t do 7hrs in a day like Kak. It takes days to get that time in during the week. But Bungie does want us playing over time and not finishing every possible activity in a week like the Kak’s do.
I will say Bungies reward drops are stingy in general. We should get multiple enhancement cores for nearly everything you do. They’re so essential and they barely drop at all for normal activities.

With the way they advertised the class item, I was expecting it to unlock in the story somewhere or at the finale. Instead you just get an exotic engram when killing the witness. I get that Dual Destiny is a well made multiple player mission, but it would have made sense to unlock the class item for everyone after killing the witness. Bungie is playing way too hard into the whole double exotic trait thing with the class item story wise.
