You're insanely fast!! Did the Nordschleife three days ago on a lowly Honda CBF500 (about 10min30 sec on touring tyres) and I thought it was pretty quick but this is something else! Thanks for this excellent video. It think I saw your ZX10 on the 'ring parking lot sunday.

Das kann man nicht bewerten, ist auch gar nicht Thema.Alles zusammen, der Fahrer, die Maschine, die Reifen, die Strecke, das Wetter, diesen Mut. Keine höhere Gewalt, die die Sache hätte beenden können.Zum Glück.Das anschauen vom Bürostuhl ist schon verdammt aufregend.

Er hatte ja einige heftige "Drifts" und Wheelies drin die er einfach mit Vollgas noch in der Kurve mitnimmt. Ich bewundere sein können und wünsche ihm Glück in den weiteren Saisons ;)
Ich will später mal behaupten können mein Bike so gut unter Kontrolle haben zu können wie er :) :P

I love how as soon as he hits a certain speed the bikes sound changes from motorcycle to fighter jet!
@marpetpet Agreed 100% The lean angles match the RPM & the cornering speed. The hand actions (brake, throttle , clutch ) are consistent throughout.
I have track European track experience with a hyabusa and feel that this rider deserves respect 1) for a very quick time, 2) for doing it on the track, not the street.

Hi Xorbit, the "Nordschleife" is always big fun. No matter if you are sitting on a ZX10 or a CBF 500. And i think 10.30 on a CBF 500 is even more exciting than 7something on a 1000!!!!!!

That was magic! That's the first onboard footage from a track (granted, it's not yer average track) that is as impressive as some of the onboard from the Isle of Man TT. Also would agree with the comment about his consistency and smoothness, but one or two small errors towards the end of the lap maybe? - hardly surprising as he must have been knackered by that stage! Great stuff.

@Battlax003 Thx, Battlax! Could've won some time by braking later but I didn't know the track very well. Did push it hard though. Exciting! Almost lost the front once. My Michelin Pilot Road 2's held up pretty well. A 52 hp motorbike doesn't need a sports tyre. The absolute cornering speed these tyres can achieve isn't bad really. But they can't cope with the sudden jerking forces of powerful bikes or quickly changing grip levels. So if you're gentle with them they're fine. (52hp=gentle :) )

@theduderwiggysan The video wasn't sped up. This time has been verified by a german motorcycle magazine in conjunction with Bridgestone that sometimes takes bikes around the Ring to see how fast they go. This was the first time that the track was closed just to race bikes so the bike can go as fast as it can and not get slower cars or bikes on the way.
Jeez dude, That's some hard riding there. I did the ring 5 years ago on my GSXR750 and was going 9:20's.. Thought that was pretty fast!! lol!! :o The bike sounds awesome too... Are you a pro racer?

@iTziLLUMY : The track runs uphill to the Karussell, and the down hill to the finish straight, etc. Which would explain why less throttle is used after the Karussell.

@ChrisMag100 The video isn't sped up. I've done the kind of speeds he's doing on the same kind of bike (I wasn't driving, I was a passenger on a 2008 ZX10-R) and everything goes by really fast when you're doing 186 mph on a straight road. BTW, the video starts at 0:25 and ends at 8:17 which gives a lap time of 7:52 since this was timed in a gate to gate configuration. If the intro says that he did a 7:50 laptime, the video must slowed down in some parts, not sped up.

@abrahamosi Wir hatten zwei Mikrofon-Systeme an der Ninja montiert. Eines vorne beim Fahrer was deutlich empfindlicher eingestellt war und sogar das Geräusch der Knieschleifer rüberbringt und eines hinten im Windschatten für die Abschnitte mit höheren Geschwindigkeiten. Im Schnitt haben wir dann zwischen diesen beiden Mikros hin und her geblendet um die extremen Windgeräusche zu reduzieren. Deshalb die Tonunterschiede.
@Stuntman175 The lap time might be accurate, but the video is definitely sped up on a number of parts. Everything between :30 and 1:02 for example. You can tell by his hand movements as be blips the throttle, for example.
This video is scarier than real life! My hands are sweating as I watch this.
To think that this lap didn't beat the porsche around the nurburgring is almost nonsensical.

@rausgeschmissen Danke noch einmal für den Hinweis. Und auch noch einmal an alle anderen: Unser Fahrer Tim Röthig fährt seit Jahrzehnten auf hohem Niveau im Motorradrennsport. Er hat unzählige Runden auf der Nordschleife absolviert und weiß genau wo er was riskiert. Insbesondere auf der Nordschleife darf man nie an oder über die Grenzen gehen. Wer sportlich Motorrad fahren will sollte dies ausschließlich auf der Rennstrecke tuen. Z.B. mit dem motorrad-action-team oder dem PS-racecamp.

Würdest du uns die Montage der Kamera verraten? Mich würde es sehr interessieren. ist das ein Chest mounting und dann einfach nachbearbeitet damit es aussieht alsob die Kamera nicht bewegt, sondern nur der Fahrer und das Motorrad? Danke schonmal =)

6m50s fullthrottle and revs, 6m55s power wheelie, 7m06s - 7m 12s ful throttle. I'm not sure where u get the scared part but the track does change with regards to speed. He doesnt seem to be hanging back at all!!

@thesiknik what do u mean by "suspension changing"?? we cant see the adjusting knobs....and yes the speed sensation is fake due to the fish-eye camera...ive been on the track at 7.50 and if u look at videos of cars going 7.50 on cars (exemple Subaru STi) u will see that it is a lot "slower" then that....but thats just the camera..its not the riders fault..
Oh my God...the Bridgestone R10's have..as I can see and notice...a spectaculair and awesome grip....They 'll be the next tire's on my Suzuki B-King... :)) so I can lay my bike down on his ear in the corners... :))

@ixclus1ve Die Kamera war auf dem Tank befestigt. Im Ganzen ungefähr so groß wie ein Tankrucksack. So konnte Tim sich nicht wirklich hinter die Verkleidung klemmen was speziell auf den schnellen Passagen ein wenig "windig" ist.
"Track experience" means hiring a track for a day with a group of enthusiasts, then traveling around Europe on the Hyabusa to do the same again at different tracks. Racing is a completely different story of course, but hard riding on the Hyabusa is certainly possible.
@ Havana81Club the 7m10s on r1 was run on 19.1 km this one is the 20.832 km...

Irre, das war mir schon am Bildschirm zu schnell; wie muss es erst auf dem Bike mit Gegenwind und Fliehkräften sein? Schade, dass es keine Speedeinblendung gab bzw. man den Tacho nicht erkennen konnte. Die Geschwindigkeit hätte mich in einigen Passagen wirklich sehr interessiert. Muss 'n geiler Job sein. Reifentester.
@lotterynj I've seen a 7:29 on a 750cc several years ago. Not sure exactly how "stock" the bike was though.
how about a Nordschleife TT Trophy ? Would be very interesting to see those maniacs doing this
Pro driving! I am 40 seconds slower on a CBR 600 and I have to scare the shit out of myself to get that time, aspecialy on the second (more technical) part of the track, beautifull.

@Ruefus I've done enough video editing and riding myself to believe you're wrong. I've been riding for 18 years, and currently own a RSV4. The pitch of the audio shifts in a way which is inconsistent with a normalized frame-rate. Watch around 2:40 - definitely sped up.
