- We do a full strip and ground up restore of the NA6 dashboard that's going in the Miata. Kill the rattles! Full detail and plastic restore! I replace the foam strips, fix broken tabs, rust restore the support bar and paint. Then I extend the wiring for the NA8 dash harness so my power mirrors can work and I can have two working entry lights. I also add a custom feature or two.
Weather striping is the closed cell foam type and came from a local hardware store.

Great video! I'm doing an interior restoration on my NA6 right now as well. Waiting on a few parts before I get going but your video will be a huge help. Thanks!
Good luck!
7:32 drag it across the pavement. brand new.
Oh this is going to be good!
great video! im looking to reupholster or repair the panel just above the glove box. would I be able to remove that without taking apart the whole dash?
Yes, you can take out the center console "tombstone" and eye vents and then it should come off. You can work a plastic trim tool in there to help pop it off.
@@OGPedXing oh okay interesting! Yes I’m quite familiar with removing the tombstone but I was under the impression that panel above the glove box was screwed in. So I can just pop that panel off once the tombstone is off?
Just to be sure I understand, you mean the long panel that goes all the way across on 90-93 dashes right? Aka the crash pad. I think that one is clipped/glued in. For 94 to 97 there's the passenger air bag panel, I was assuming that's not what you meant. Although before swapping my na8 dash for na6 I took out the non functional airbag and glued the panel back in.
@@OGPedXing exactly that! I have a ‘93 miata
Yep, I think there are no screws, it's mostly glued down. I've been told start from the passenger side first and work it off slowly. Unfortunately due to age, breaking the plastic backing is somewhat likely. But I've also seen replacements on ebay and such. Good luck with your project 👍 😀
My '90 has a few huge cracks going through the entire dash, wondering if there is any possibility of saving it.
@carguyforlife Yes, so the best path is to epoxy the cracks and then wrap the dash with something...could be vinyl or leather or even flocking to cover up the repair.
Thanks mate! Really helpful ;)
4:25 who are you and why do you know me so well?👀😂
I thought I had opened up a separate chris fix tab for a second
