I was waiting for this video! All three of the builds shown here were of great inspiration for my own sets, and I can't wait to see some elemental LS runs from Peppo since I'm really having fun with elemental LS in rise
just noticed this in my sub box after doing my own notepad math and getting unreasonably excited, I'm really impressed by the diversity of raw builds in this game! I'm really excited to see how things shake out on the sides of ranged weapons and all the new elemental armor and rampage skills
For the 'Pro Raw Narga' build, I think I actually made something better: - Zinogre Helm S - Remobra Suit S - Rathalos Braces S - Anjanath Coil S - Golden Hakama - Talisman with Attack +2, Weakness Exploit +2, and no slots With that, I can get CB 3 and only drop one point of attack (so CB 3, WEx 3, Attack 6, plus the staples like QS 3, Stun Res 3, Speed Sharpen 3) and some extra stuff (Latent Power 2, etc.) That out-performs the listed 'pro raw' build by 2 points per hit in a helmbreaker test in the training room.
If you have a wex 2 talisman with a 2 slot and a 1 slot, you can change the waist into anjanath, effectively gaining the exact same build, with a few more 1 slots. Happy hunting, guys.

For DB the staple skills would be Constitution(unless you use dash juice often) & Razor Sharp + atk boost + wex + crit for raw damage. For elemental builds just add specific elemental dmg boost + elemental crit

I always use the Rathian long swoard as soon as I'm able to make it, I don't know if it's particularly good but I simply used it so much and it has never let me down. I also love the Seregios weapons but they aren't in the game of course.
Lucked out with Quick Sheath 3 talisman with a lvl 3 slot and a lvl 1 slot. Just changed out the Barioth chest for the Vaik chest to get the same result as the Pro Narga, very happy.
The fact that decos are no longer stonewalling people out of builds is amazing to me, as gaijin once said, not having the perfect charm means you can still get 90% of the way to set you want, but not having a deco could mean that set is locked from you until you get that one mighty bow jewel.
Having played World, i feel the pain about the deco. At least in Rise you can farm materials and eventually able yo craft the deco. Tailsman wise it is so random but at least build is not entirely depend on that. Tailsman will make it better but not end of the world if you don’t get the one yet.
I ended up getting fairly lucky with a Quick Sheath 1, Weakness Exploit 2, 1-1 charm so for the Nargacuga Pro build I managed to get the same skills by subbing out the Skalda waist with Anjanath Coil S which leaves you at Attack Boost 4, 4 level 2 slots and then room for 9 level 1 decorations for whatever you need.
I’ve been using a similar build myself. I like raw builds for ease of crafting/overall. no need to worry about element matchups or making one of each type. I have fire dragon electric in CB but usually do the same thing and run goes harag 90% of the time
Great maths like always from you guys! sidenote: LS block should totally have a timeout. Standing there for seconds in a block position to "perfect dodge" some thing seems off.
it does have a timeout. i couldn't tell you exactly how long it is, but eventually your character goes back to just having the sword sheathed regularly.
I went with a build for the Gnash that gives : Quick Sheathe x3 Attack Boost x7 Critical Eye x3 Mind's Eye x2 (especially important for low sharpness, despite spirit combos giving natural mind's eye) Bludgeoner x3 with armor and slots. Still waiting on a charm that doesn't suck, just have a placeholder with a 2 slot. Comes in at 332 effective raw roughly, which is less on paper but doesn't lose any raw if you roll or aren't targeting weak points (or rather don't have 100% accuracy). Plus you won't bounce and will deal _slightly_ more damage on non-weak parts, not that you should generally be aiming for them anyway. Build Aknosom Helm Kadachi Chest Tigrex Gloves Rathalos Waist Ingot Legs Decos needed Attack x3 Sheathe x2 Bludgeoner x1 with only 1 single slot unfortunately. There's probably a better helm out there, especially with some good charms. Somewhat easy to make and more effective in the field I believe, especially for budget. Since the Gnash has such a high attack to begin with the Attack 7 boost is huge.
I always sharpen on my palamute so I can avoid the monster while sharpening. So Instead of speed sharpening jewels, I went for Free Meal and Hunger Resistance. It's nice not having to worry about keeping up your stamina with rations/steak, and it's also nice when you're drinking potions or buffs without wasting resources.
The RNG gods have blessed me with a talisman with 3 Attack Boost, 2 Quick Sheath and 2 lvl1 slots. With it I managed to make a build similar to the first one, but with Attack Boost 5, Critical Boost 3 and Critical Eye 1. I'm wearing Zinogre Helm, Remobra Chest, Barioth Hands, Spio Waist and Rajang Legs. I don't normally main Long Sword, but now I gotta take this for a spin! I also slot 2 Attack decos and the rest is just QoL stuff like grinder, brace and satiated. I'm thinking of replacing the Remobra Chest with a Barroth one though, that will drop my Critical Boost to 2 but lets me reach Attack Boost 7.
My current long sword build is full magna armor the magna long sword with magna soul which increases damage output when affected by hellfire blight which is applied when a monster rages due to magnas armor, and I even have white sharpness because magnas armor has handicraft. I also have quick sheath level 3 (with 2 levels coming from a talisman), speed sharpening level 3, and because I hate being poisoned level 3 poison resist. Though I am looking to replace the poison resist so if anyone has any suggestions let me know.
I've seen a Quick Sheath +1 Attack up +1 charm that unfortunately had no slots, but with Remobra chest CB +3 and attack up +7 should be possible in theory on the first build. You'd need to win the charm lottery though.

Ok so, am I blind or something? My charm has QS 2, 1 level 3 slot and 1 level 2 slot. The build at default has Attack Boost level 2. In total there are 4 level 2 slots. That means you can only get Attack Boost level 6 max. I could use the level 3 slot from the charm for it but then I wouldn't have QS 3. Am I missing something or?...
Dude he got good talisman. You can use slot lvl 3 to equip 2 slot jewel and you got max attack +7 and for qs in barrioth mail u got 1 qs so if you have 2qs from talisman you got 3 qs

The Ice Longsword from iron tree (forgot its name in english) has a especial wirebug attack bonus, I am testing it and doing like 100 more damage than Nargacuga Ls with Sakura slash especial wirebug attack! So if you are gonna spam Wirebug attacks its seems to be the best one!

500 hours in iceborne and not a single magazine jewel for my chargeblade build :(

i would personally switch the legs in the first set to the ingot s for 2 attack boost and crit eye. but sick sets none the less
