Love your content! Was wondering if you’ve tried the Modern Double Wide 7’4” (72L) and how it compares to your favored Mega Magic 7’2” (65L). I’m torn between the two (38, 205lbs, beginner, SoCal).
I haven't tried the Double-Wide but I'd be hard pressed to think that Modern Surfboards would make a better big boy board than Steve Walden. I also have demos up of the Walden 8'0 Mega Magic and the NSP Double-Up. The Megas are my choice. Best of luck!
@@surfboarddemosthank you for the reply! I picked up a near mint 7’2” mega magic for very cheap - just one small ding on the rail to repair. Took it in today and hope to get it out this weekend in Ventura. Stoked!
Have you ever tried the firewire greedy beaver 6.10 52 liters.? If so fffor one quiver board between walden and firewire what will be your recommendation
I've never ridden the Greedy Beaver but have ridden the Takayama Scorpion 2 (videos posted) which is similar to the GB. 6'10 49 liters. I prefer the 7'2 Walden for smaller surf (chest high and below). More volume, paddles better, catches everything.
@@surfboarddemos thanks a lot. How about the weight of the walden? It's heavy? Have you tried it with single fin? Which size and fin format you recommend
@@Cif-ng3gs Weight is 12 pounds. Fins are pictured at the start of the video. Futures sides and a 6 inch Dolphin center fin. Prefer a 2 + 1 set up opposed to a single fin.
Yes I have. It was way too much volume for me. The pulled in nose doesn't work for me. It needs to be surfed more off the tail. You can't trim well on that board.
@@surfboarddemos Thanks a lot for the feedback, I have the 7.2 Mega Magic, and I was thinking to buy the 6.10 mini Magic for the bigger days, but after your feedback I have to reconsider. I have a 6.10 greedy beaver that I use for the bigger days, but i think that I need a bit more volume and I dont want to go above 7''
I have a custom 7’0”, 60L from Dan O’Hara getting in this weekend looking forward to it.
Sweet!
Super Funky tune, bro!
Thank you✌
That is sick!!!

Great vid. Where is this?

what do think of this board for a 5'10 215 lbs 25 year old beginner to learn on?
Good board to learn on. The 8'0 Mega Magic would be an even better choice for a beginner.

I bought the board and i am really enjoying it. , your review helped me a lot, thanks
Excellent! Happy to hear it.

@@Cif74 Consider the 7'0 Hypto Krypto, 7'0 Firewire Sunday or the 6'4 Sweet Potato.
@@surfboarddemos Great thanks, the 7'0 Hypto Krypto seems interesting the other 2 have similar volumes of the 6.10 greedy beaver
67 liters on a 6'10 without a full nose is way too much volume in my opinion.@@Cif74
Do you like this board?
Yes, this is my go to board for knee high to chest high waves.
