  • A Small Clip from our CQB foundation Class.
Highlighting how we slowly layer more tasks onto the students. As more responsibilities are introduced, additional considerations will be expanded upon. Providing too much information early on can over load students new to these principles and becomes counter productive. As the student becomes more comfortable with the task we will introduce pertinent information and provide the "why's" behind these principles.

Why not keep the 4 man at the door holding hallway security?
If you give up the hallway every single time you enter a room, the potential of a threat advancing toward your position increases.
The 4th gun in the room doesn't accomplish anything that the first 3 weren't able to.

“OWN rooms, RENT hallways.” The short answer to your question is that you simply don’t ever want to spend any extra millisecond standing in a hallway if you can help it. The goal is always to get into a room and fight from rooms. so that you’re fighting from a place of relative cover/concealment. I get what you’re saying: why not just stand in the hallway and pull security down range? --it’s because just pointing your barrel isn’t enough. You’re still exposed as hell. You NEED to always find cover once it’s available. It’s so easy to get shot when you’re standing out there. “Own rooms. Rent hallways”

@@DevilFrog61 you obviously did not grasp what I was saying at all.
I was not suggesting that you sit in the hallway like a dunce. You suck into the room in the relative concealment of the threshold, but keep your weapon and eyes focused down the hall pulling long security.
Now that your misconception is out of the way, you didn't answer the question.

@@simonsundy518 same answer, that (what you just described) is a valid option. There’s nothing wrong with that.

@@DevilFrog61 my question was, why are they not keeping eyes down the hall holding security. CQB is all about covering angles and unknown threat areas. If you take your eyes off of the hall and expose your back to the door, you fuck your entire team.
If a potential threat is waiting a few rooms over, and gets a wild hair up his ass, he can engage your entire team from outside of the room because you decided to lose security on the hallway.

@@alwaysoutafterdark6136 I can understand that everyone will have a different answer, but in the basic law enforcement academy, we were taught that 540° coverage was the goal of any small team element engaged in CQB. If you turn your back to unknown and uncleared areas, you compromise the security of your team.
