  • I hear it all the time “Don’t rush to your death”
My reply is simple, I am not, I am Attacking.
CQB is an offensive technique of fire and maneuver, utilizing the application of
surgical firepower & tactics combined with surprise, speed and violence of action.
An OFFENSIVE technique that requires rapidly and methodically seizing control
of a room or series of rooms, and all of its inhabitants (both hostile and other). Dominate the room, immediately clearing red zones, eliminating the threat and controlling the situation. This is CQB whether you like it or not. Risk adverse tactics have no place against actual committed adversities. All they do is put the officer behind the power curve and starts them in a reactive posture when they should be proactive. - Paul Costa

How do you go about entering the first room considering the opposing open doors?

When entering a room with an opposing doorway and both doors are open, like in your video, are you concerned about turning your back to the uncleared room as you make entry into the other one? Great video as always.

Simul entry on both if you have the personnel

This maneuver was being taught as if you already controlled one of the rooms. If you were in the Hallway and had to pick one of the rooms, the outside guy ( whichever side is not being entered) would move into a blocking position to plug the opposing door and provide security just long enough to get the team into the room and then he would retake his role as the 4 man into that room. Ideally this would be taken simultaneously, but I wasn't allowing students to split there stack yet at this time in the class. This is an Intro class and information needs to be introduced and layered correctly for student retention. Hope this helps

Question: As it's a 'short room' that's not necessarily cleared yet how does man 3 and 4 immediately proceed to the next door. If man 1 or 2 engage a threat or are processing the room (Intel, hostages, survivors, etc.) how do man 3 and 4 push so quickly to the next door?

Yeah good question, I thought we were always supposed to have one guy covering the hallway and leaving the others clearing the rooms... In this situation, I would have put 4 men inside just like he did. Still, one guy covering that opposite door+hallway from the inside, waiting for the tap then moving to the opposite door just like he showed, 1st man right, 2nd left etc... I'm sure that's what they actually do but we can't see it in the video.

1 and 2 man are exposed to the opposing opening as soon as they enter the small room, they need people to watch their backs. Maybe they can roll across and all hold but idk. I think it’s more of a preference at this point.
