      Ok I need some help with this. I’m not a close minded idiot but the Province thing always confused me when I was in Canada or reading about Canada. So I love Louisiana and understand that parishes are no different than counties in the rest of the US. But take NYC for example. I’m from Queens, which is the County however when we type out addresses we don’t put the county, we just put address and town within that county we live in. And the same in Louisiana in my experience. So then going to Canadá it will be the address, province and then city. I was like “where tf am I?” 😂. Like seeing 555, Ontario, Toronto etc. I was so confused the first time like where am I going and where am I staying? 😂. Is this just a me thing lol?

    • @tardbug

      @@LaFlor718 Provinces (and Territories) are essentially the same thing as States in the US, not counties. In our addresses the Province would go in the same place as the State in an American address - street, city, province.
      Rather than counties, we have various names for regional municipalities - regions, counties, districts, in Quebec I think they are called agglomérations (though I may be wrong), etc - these don't exist everywhere, but where they do, like US addresses, they would not appear in the home address

    That Olive Garden manager might be wanted. I mean, the only way someone can get into an accident and get to work on time *(if that's really true)* is if they committed a crime by doing a hit and run. It takes time to be in an accident ("the air bags went off and everything"), react to said accident, exchange information and what not. Unless they leave to go to work VERY early just in case, there's no way they got into an accident and got to work on time without committing a hit and run. Maybe another person wasn't involved, but either way a rubbish story, or it's exaggerated. How well can you *really* drive a "totaled car"?
    Edit: I know you can get into an accident and still get to work on time probably under certain circumstances, but the point I was making was the person literally used the word "wreck" and "totaled" to describe the situation of the vehicle. I just feel it wouldn't be so quick and easy to leave that scene if that was the case hence me suggesting they lied, exaggerated, or "left the scene of a crime". I can't see someone quickly leaving the scene after wrecking a car so horribly and realistically if they also got "wrecked" they'd more likely have some form of injury whether serious, or minor such as even just a headache. Considering the boss seems to like to make themselves sound superior and can do anything, surprised they didn't brag about having a broken leg and still going to work.

      Well, it is possible if the distances aren't too great. I had been hit just down the street from where I live. I had minor injuries, car totaled, and somehow I made it to school on time that day. (I can't remember if I got a ride, took the bus, or borrowed a car.) Because I wasn't seriously injured, I felt like I had to go. I really should've stayed home, though, because I jumped ten feet in the air when someone accidentally dropped a pencil next to me.

    • @loveyourselfplease6842
      @loveyourselfplease6842 Год назад +6

      While questionable & yes most accidents take a great deal of time because most people would consider an auto accident a genuinely good reason to be late or better yet a reason to call out, there are multiple circumstances where you could leave relatively quickly. There are lots of states where you do not have to call the police so if you & the other driver are content to handle it separately by exchanging information & taking pictures that's up to you. My last accident was in a parking lot & because nobody was injured & no crime was committed (even though they hit me by running a stop sign) the police couldn't come since it was considered private property, so an agent from the office where I'm insured came down & documented everything & stayed to instruct the tow company because I had to go pick up my child so my mom came to get me, I left with his booster seat & handled everything later.

    that olive garden manager sounds EXACTLY like my Kroger's new DM. He somehow has a wife and 2 kids, but absolutely no life from what I hear. He nitpicks at the TINIEST things, and doesn't listen to anyone when we try to explain things. He just yells (I am very fortunate to have not been in the store at the same time as one of his visits yet.) He literally SCREAMS at people, and has made SEVERAL people cry. I heard he had a tantrum in our produce back room one day, and he was just throwing stuff around like a child. When his wife went into labor w their first kid, he did not go to the hospital to be with her, and instead kept working and said she was fine, because that is what she was "made for". He only still has a job because he has connections w higher ups, bc he's had a MASSIVE amount of complaints against him for YEARS. These kinds of people literally have no lives, and are probably actual sociopaths :/

      not sure about that, we have a union, I'm sure people along the line have reported it to them, but unfortunately it's a pretty weak union, and they're very rarely able to help anyone who comes to them :/ I'm actually waiting for them to help get me my back pay for the year where I had been certified as a cake decorator, but the store manager never put that in the system (I asked many times throughout the year, and no one ever gave me an answer), and the only way I found out they never actually put in in was bc an auditor came in and found out. I was told early October that I'd be getting my back pay in a couple weeks, never got it, asked about it in November, was told by HR she'd send an email, asked HR a couple weeks later if she'd heard anything, was ignored, so I finally emailed my union rep and filed a grievance bc I could tell they'd stall it out as long as they could, and yeah I hate dealing with stupid stuff that I shouldn't even be dealing with 😩 my store in particular is notorious for either toughing you up, or making people who are transferred there quit 😬

      @@skadiyoko im sorry you are going through that. report them to the labor board anyway. unless there is outside sources of complaint, they can internalize your grievances and complaints and noone outisde the company is even aware. i would absolutely try, tell them everything you stated here. plus any other issues that seem fishy. i was employed somewhere that wasnt giving the last shift our last breaks because we had no coverage. happened the whole time i was there, 2 years. people complained repeatedly to no avail. someone went to the labor board, and it became a class action lawsuit that you didnt even have to "apply to get in" because if you were employed by then between a certain time period, which i was, but was no longer working there when i found out abouut it all. i ended up getting two sep checks over a year after i quit for total of 2000 dollars, SOLEY because a pissed off employee was sick of being gaslit and told one thing, for it never change or happen, and the entire company got a settlement and the chain has no changed their policies and the last shifts literally close the stores for their last break. ended up costing them alot of compensation to past and present employees, plus they loose business shutting down for those 15 minutes at every store, nationwide. all because they chose to ignore a request to allow us our LAWFUL breaks. sounds like it cant HURT your situation. once companies realize they are being investigated by the labor board, they often snap too, or pay the price financially. with all that said, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and i hope it improves for you! happy holidays and keep your chin up, the work you do gives everyone joy!

That’s exactly why I would never be a driver for any stranger.
