Hi, I'm Charlotte Dobre. I'm an actor, reactor, singer and sometimes (not really) comedian. On this channel I do reactions, commentary and occasionally I make a joke or two. I love poking fun at social media, weddings, entitled people, tiktok and OF COURSE petty people. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. Come hang out, it's a good time.

I remember asking my dad when the world turned color because his childhood photos were black and white.
Lol I used to call them grey people!
We were passing caves on a train and I asked my dad if he used to live in them. To be fair, he is a wee hairy Scotsman so I can't be completely blamed for thinking he did 😂
Omg... same
@@folkloreofbeing that's savage. L🤣😂😱
Haha.. that u Dorothy? 🌈
If you feel old, you'll enjoy this story. I was an interim teaching assistant in high-school and one day the kids were trying to guess my age. I am very petite, about 4'10" and my size was throwing them off. Then Nate stands up and says he doesn't know exactly but guesses that I'm about 85 give or take 2 years. Intrigued, I asked how he arrived at 85. He said, "well old people shrink as they age. My grandmother is 79 and you're even smaller than her. So that must make you about 85"
I was 23.
🤣😂... High School?!?😂
@@DominiqueNicole144
It was a class for high schoolers with learning challenges. They said some funny stuff. Their view on the world was really interesting
@@DominiqueNicole144 yeah, sounds more like kindergarden.
When were 85 we’ll be laughing at how old we felt in our 20s & 30s.
My granddaughter 6 at one of her regular scans was listening to the junior dr talking about how long I takes to become a dr. She responded so in awe that must mean all drs are 100 by the time they get out of school he told her she was savage
Whoever played the grinch in that tiktok has probably been shown lewd photos of the grinch so he was probably like "Oh boy here we go again!" but the instant hand cover with "I sent that to Martha in secret!" just killed me.
And I can honestly see the Grinch (the live action version) react like that
I feel bad, she clearly worked really hard on that cake. Especially the decorating. If it was a skit and she knew about it, great, but if he did that on purpose, that’s an invitation to being buried underneath her petunias.
I'm bringing the shovel
Charlotte, did you know that when big corporations ask you to donate to a charity, they get the tax breaks from it. Don't let them guilt you into donating. Do it directly through the charity and then you get the charitable contribution slip.
Legit how i convince myself to not round up. I’ll donate to charity myself
That is such a good reminder. I knew they got tax breaks for it but never put it together that that's what they're asking. Damnnnn glad I didn't give 12p to Cancer Research the other day, I'll give it directly

Yes, they get tax breaks from donating money that wasn’t even their’s. Don’t feel guilty
....but it's too hard for her.... Can't be bothered.
You can tell she MADE that cake and decorated it on her own...I'm gonna internally cry for her bye
Yes, this made me so angry!
The look on her face. I would have been so sad!
At that point since cake was already ruined..I would have picked that mofo up and just smashed the rest on his face and head. Lol
@@OnePoetWanderer Someone who did this would not be part of my life. He is the wrong kind of person. hurting her for the pure hell of it. too sadistic for me.
I was wondering if I was the only one who this had really upset 🙈
If he had done that to me, I would have been fuuuuuuming
As a teacher, it really pained me for a while when students referred to “the 1900s” and “the turn of the century.” Lately it hasn’t been bothering me and when I realized that I’ve had way bigger things to worry about since 2020, I decided to just lean into it with a game of “I’m sorry, kid, don’t you mean in my childhood … last MILLENNIUM?!” 😂
My youngest is 14...my oldest is 25. She asks me why I couldn't have had her before my 30s all the time. I'm not elderly!!! She says, "Yeah, you are, you were born 25 years before the 1900s ended." 👵🙅♀️💀 I just clap back, "Well, you weren't planned."🤷♀️
@@JustAGrrrrl 😭💀
So I had a flip phone until a couple of years ago and a coworker asked me when I as 'going to get a phone from this century'. I wish I was glib enough to have told her that flip phones are this century!
I wonder if people born in the late 1800s despised people born in the early 1900s.
Well the 1900s refers to 1900-1909 so I don't think you have to worry lmao
That grinch one had me rolling. He KILLED the character lol ~perfection~

If you feel bad about turning down the checkout counter donation requests, you should know that the company is counting on that and exploiting it to their benefit. It's always better to give directly to an organization! Corporations use your money to get tax breaks (and a better public image), instead of donating out of their own profits - that 57¢ is doing more for cvs than for whatever foundation it's going to, and it's also much harder to account for it on your own taxes 🤷🏻♀️
I love the coparenting joking one. My husband's ex-wife came to pick up my stepson and asked how my pregnancy was going. After I filled her in, she turned to my husband, looked him up and down, and said "Are you pregnant, too?" 😅 all jokes and we all had a laugh. It's nice when you've reached the friendship level of coparenting.
Lmao savvage!!
Same with my folks. :) my dad stops by every Tuesday to hang out with us and he shoots the piss with my mum and stepdad. They’ve known each other since college, so it’s really nice to see they’re still solid buds. :)
Breeze. Shoot the breeze.
That's hilarious!! My parents got along better when they divorced, well not right away. But later they found out they were not meant to be married and better off as friends. Although, if they hadn't gotten married, my brother and I wouldn't be here. For the most part, they were good coparents when we were growing up.
My mom and dad were GREAT coparents. They both realized that they were better off as friends, really cared about each other, and were besties until they died within 10 months of each other.
I had an adult realization the other day. I was singing along to the songs in the grocery store. Then I looked in my cart and I had yarn and cat food. I've officially reached the age of 80 at 21 years old
Congratulations! You beat the rush. I'm over 40 (never mind how much). When I was 13, my best friend and I decided to have our mid-life crises then to beat the rush. I have no regrets about that decision.

That last one with James Charles made me spit my drink everywhere 🤣 that was so quick and savage 😂
I remember the first time I was "Nice Ladied" . I was coming to a grocery store check out and a woman with a young child reached down and said, "Let's move over for this nice lady!" It honestly made me feel great. Like I finally graduated from girl to lady.
I remember the same situation in retail! Lol "give the money to the lady" made me feel like I had levelled up.
I don't like being called a nice girl but I do like being called a nice lady, but I still like being called miss not ma'am
Moved to the Southern US in my mid-20s and immediately got called "ma'am" by anyone under 18. I was horrified until my friends explained that it's a sign of respect, not old age.

My bestie and I have realised we have reached a new level in "old" (I'm 60 and she's 63) when we were discussing which store sold the best re-useable bags. We were talking about it and I started laughing ... "are we really excited about re-useable bags??"
I'm addicted to trader joes reusable bags myself. They're so pretty or interesting. Hubby just grabbed me their newest design. It has Sardines! I'm in love with it lol. And its cloth compared to the plastic type material lol
ETA i just turned 59 lol
Hun if it's any consolation, I'm not even 28 yet, and my friends and I recently had a conversation about buying reusable bags with rope handles instead of those flat woven ones because they're nicer to carry.
You're good 😂
That’s just saving money for partying 😂
I love a good quality re-usuble bag. You know how people would get plastic bags and store them inside of their plastic bags? I have a re-usable bag full of re-usable bags - somewhat harder to do as they're all fabric 😂
@@the.office.alliance4736 I have my bag o' bags, too. The big one has a broken strap so no good for carrying groceries anymore.

My children once asked me what it was like to be alive when slavery was still a thing. I was never more insulted than that moment

Charlotte, if you think you’re old, I’ve got a story…
I was babysitting a 10yo a few years ago and we were watching Lady and the Tramp (1955). We were discussing the animation style and how it’s different from most of what he’s seen. I said it’s because it’s a lot older than most of what he’s seen. And then he hit me with, “So… was it made in 2003?” I wanted to throw him out 😑
But he absolutely loved Lady and the Tramp ☺️ we watched it a lot, which is cool with me, cause I love it too XD
I'm 53 and when I was in my early 20s I had dinner at my aunt and uncle's house, with their 3 boys. We were chatting and one of my cousins asks what year I was born and when I said 1969 he looked utterly shocked and exclaimed, "YOU WERE BORN IN THE 60s?!?!?!?!" I was only 21 or 22 and to say I felt old...
@@thomasjoseph5876 it was a “digitally remastered” dvd release
@@thomasjoseph5876 The real Disney movies hadn't any warning of any sort, we weren't so fragile than kids today... I have all the Disney's DVDs and no-one any mention of that kind, except the one that "Downloading is killing film industry" or something like that.
@@yazdhenab. Imagine thinking addressing and trying to correct racism in old movies is "fragility". Gross.
@@the.office.alliance4736 I agree. I described the 1946 Disney movie, "Song of the South" to my 30 year old son and he thought I was exaggerating. It was still being shown in theaters until about the mid-80s, but I don't think Disney ever released it as VHS or DVD for obvious reasons. Not the only embarrassingly cringey Disney film with racist stereotypes, but probably the worst.
I think Disney is missing an opportunity to make a new version of it, but one done with respect for the beloved tales of Brer Rabbit, Fox, and Bear. The Uncle Remus stories were published in the 1880s by a white author, Joel Chandler Harris, but he wrote the stories as they were told to him by former slaves.
"Harris's Uncle Remus trickster tales derive primarily from transplanted Senegambian African folklore and are rhetorically and sociologically complex representations of the often predatory world of Old South slave life-where survival depends on trickery, wit, and will pitted against the brute strength of overseers and masters. Controversial today because he was a white man retelling black folk narratives, Harris nevertheless helped preserve the trickster tale-cycle and promote black folk-tale collecting, generally; hundreds of scholars and linguists have studied his works."
(ugapress.org/book/9780820331850/joel-chandler-harris)
BTW, Harris was a contemporary and close friend of Mark Twain.
There's a wealth of African folktales that have been passed down for generations and published by descendants of former slaves. There's an animated video series of African folktales that my son loved when he was little back in the 1990s. It featured Anansi the Spider, a clever little spider who was always getting in and out of mischief. I'm surprised Disney-Pixar hasn't used the adorable CGI "Lucas the Spider" to bring those stories to a new generation.
“God built me. Your doctor built you.” IM CRYING!!! BRB adding to my list of comebacks
I could tell by the first guy's giggle that it was a roast and less of a bitter statement. 🤣 Friendly co-parenting is awesome.
I was grading papers the other day (college prof) and a couple of students were talking about things that occurred in the 1980s and 90s as "the late 20th century" and, as someone born in the 90s, I felt like I had been punched in the gut.

Oh, wait until you explain party lines. If you know what those are.
We still have our landline XD XD XD
We have cell too, but our sons never answer their dang phones. So a landline also....plus I just like landline phones for longer talks, lol.
@@rebeccaklages9783 I do know what they are, but never used it. I also remember the line being busy, the kitchen phone cord and dial up when we first got internet. I also told my daughter I was almost a teenager when my family got our 1st computer. It’s amazing to look back and realize just how much the world has changed.
People in Hurricane America are smart to keep/get landlines. A Level 2 is enough to knock cell towers down, as well as trees and then you're cut off from civilization. Landlines don't need either towers nor electricity to charge them up. Lots of people have landlines on the Gulf Coast.

My husband has a shirt that says “Classically trained” with a Super Nintendo controller. My Sunday school class (3rd to 6th grade) was so confused, and asked what that was. When I was really young my dad introduced me to old black and white movies from the 50s. One day I went up to him and said, "Dad, you were born in the 50s, right? When did the world finally invent color?" I straight up thought the world had no color in it until we finally invented color. 🤦♀

We had a old black and white tv and I really thought that the tvworld was black and white and when I saw someone from tv in real i screamed, MOM she has color (Bad thing was, she was black,... thanks to mom she explained it) soon after we got a color tv, they were already out, but we were very poor.

I was born in 1961, back when the world was black and white. Then one Sunday night in the mid 60s, it instantly changed when "Disney's Wonderful World of Color" came on, and ever since then, we have lived in color! Oh, except when commercials came on it went back to black and white for a little while.
I tried to tell my son that when he was little, but he didn't buy it.
We had the first color TV in our neighborhood. I still remember the neighbors came over to "Ooooh! and Ahhh!" over it.

I heard that “rounding up for charity” usually gives them a lot bigger tax breaks and isn’t about charity at all, it’s about saving money.
EXACTLY. All it does is help the business. If someone wants to donate to charity they should do it directly.

LMAO, I was born in 1964. We saw movies at the drive in. Mom would make a bunch of popcorn and put it in a paper grocery bag and make Koolaid in a milk jug. As a former grocery store cashier who had to ask people if they wanted to "round up" their total for charity...I AM SO SORRY 😂😭
I would skip it sometimes but sometimes my manager would stand at the end of my check stand to make sure I asked people and got a warning if I didn't. 💀 I don't miss that job.
Yeah. Even sometimes as a manager I hate it but it comes with the job
Right.... NEVER give impulsively! Research the potential charities that advertize support of the cause you like, and arrange to give a monthly contribution to the one that gives the most proportion to the cause you support. NEVER give impulsively, especially NEVER give to beggars. 50 to 100 percent of gifts to beggars will go to meth/H dealers. If you are challenged at checkout, the reply is "I don't give to beggars." If you feel strongly, volunteer at a food bank, or whatever charity you support. This can combat the isolation anstability that is the new American norm. If you are asked to give at checkout, you know that much or all of anything you give supports this solicitation.
I love making creative ways to say no.
Like, sorry no, but i am open to charity if (corporate) is lookin for a place to send them record profits.
I simply just say "no, thank you" and I don't feel guilty about it. I've done charitable work over the years to help out people. I'm not a big fan of giving to retailers, etc. and they get credit for the money THEY raised because THEY didn't donate it. No, I don't want credit for it, either. I just like to do things for people instead of handing over money and not knowing where or how much is getting to people in need.
The company taking your money gets a tax deduction for it as they’ll donate it in their name.
I told one of my daughters friends that I was old, she said I was not old that she thinks of me as an antique hippie because I am so much fun to be around. I love that kid!!!!!!
I too was born in the late 1900’s. In fact my nephew graciously pointed this out when referring to a movie I saw that, in his words, “was made in the old 90’s”.
10:37 Don’t feel guilty about not donating through a business like that! I rather donate on my own than lining pockets of a big cooperation

In my olden days ...the 70's .... We had to wait 3 years for a movie to be broadcast on the Sunday night movie on one of the 3 networks. With commercials. Getting a VCR in the 80's was amazing!! When I moved out of my mom's place I had to rent the VCR and the movies because the machine was quite expensive.

It was so funny! We realized he was judging our age by our personalities. I have a very fun and playful personality. I always jumped on the trampoline with the kids and take turns doing cannon balls into the water with them lol.
Kevin on the other hand was born an old man. Very stern and can be grumpy at times. Lots of "get off my lawn" energy lol. So now the joke of the family is that Kevin is 57 lol.
My dad used to take my sister and me to the video store. It's definitely an experience and sadly one my children will not get to enjoy. So much nostalgia!
(Guess we'll have to settle for the library!)
5:58 it was because she insalted.
5:32 That grandma saw it! She knew what she's supposed to do!

oh, I remember when the owners of Italian pizza places stopped saying 'Signorina' and started with the 'Signora' --- that gave me some food for thought
The first time someone called me "ma'am". 😲😳😠 I was 24!!! 🤣
When I went from being "the girl" to "the lady" 😭
@@willashriver1356 For me it was at 17...but it was a comment here on YT so 🤣 I'm 18 now turning 19
Did you just get married when they started that? Because "Signora" is "Missus" in Italian.

The Grinch did a full send and I loved every second of it. 😂😂
I love watching Renovations show or people building their homes from scratch😊my daughter came in while watching an episode and she said "I'm sure you enjoyed watching Noah build that Ark"...... Does this tweep actually think I was around during that time?
She also asked if was part of Solomon's harem of 700 wives and 300 concubines?

Those companies use your dontions as charity deductions on their taxes to lower or get rid of any taxes owed. It is better to make those donations directly to the charities :)
EXACTLY
4:58 😭😭😭😭
🤣 🤣 🤣 The kid that had a savage come-back for the guy born in 1989, has restored my hope for humanity!
We donate at various times of the year to various charities. I have absolutely no problem just saying “no, thanks!” when asked to donate anything while at the cash register. I do not feel guilty because we donate already. 🤷♀️
Especially if it’s a local charity. I have no problem there and already do, so don’t feel bad saying no anymore.
I married a clown once too...I didn't see that one coming! 😆🤣🤣
10:52 there’s a good episode about that bull**** on South Park
Slogan of the "late 1900's" was "be kind and rewind"
When my son was 15 he told me that he liked “really, really old classic rock bands like Green Day”. He’s 25 now and still trying to get back into my good graces 😂
Someone's out of the will.😂😢😂
Nothing better on a Friday just after work than a video like this 🌟
Working 3rd shift be like that. 100% understandable
Cool remix you did thank you for your content, love it!
I was born in 1981, graduated high school in '99. One day a few years ago when my daughter was like six, I was telling her about the time my mom picked me up from school on horseback (we had horses when I was a kid and I thought she would think it was cool). She says, "Well, yeah! That's how you guys got around back then." I said, "Exactly how old do you think I am, child?!" 😂😂😂
I was just talking to someone about how I miss going to rent movies and making a Friday or Saturday night movie night with my friends. Locked in my room with snacks and being ridiculous. 😂
Had a really hard day today. Thank you for brightening it and giving me laughs Charlotte 🥰
Have a great day today:-)
That Grinch was lit!! 100% map awareness. He won't be caught off-guard!
"Do we bite off the tips?"
Mike in another room: *screams like a wounded hound*
Just went through a break-up tonight and it's nice to know I can count on good ol' Charlotte to make me laugh.😭❤️
Sorry to hear. I went through a break up last week and I was just in bed cryin watching Charlotte. It cheered me up :)
When a store employee said “This Lady needs help…” My heart aged 30 years that day…👵🏻
I remember 3 channels on the TV and the outside being the only visuall input beyond books.
One comment reminded me of something. My mum and my Grandmother were watching walking with dinosaurs one evening. My Gran turned to my mum and said " why are you watching this rubbish? You are never going to see a dinosaur they live in Africa. Still makes me laugh to this day .x
