It is a shame that in light of Bob Newhart's recent passing and all the reporting on Bob Newhart and his comedy legacy no mention seems to be made of his early comedy sketch albums which are pure genius. Can this be rectified somehow? Thank goodness some things are on youtube. He was a fine comedic actor but these sketches are pure gold and show an incredible and hilarious imagination and wit beyond belief! He deserves to be remembered for this stuff!!
Without a doubt the best comedian in my opinion. Immaculate timing, deadpan facial and vocal characteristics. Seeing him on The Big Bang Theory was an absolute treasured gift that he gave to us.
All Newhart albums are great. We had all his albums plus Allen Sherman, Jose Jimenez, Shelley Berman, and "A child's garden of Freeberg" by Stan Freeberg.
@@JGLy22086 A guy goes away on a trip and ask his neighbor to look after his cat. When he returns his neighbor tells him his cat is dead. The guy asks what happened, and the neighbor tell him the cat got out through an open window, somehow climbed to the roof, and fell off. The guy says that is how you should have told me by describing what happened, not just blurt out, "your cat is dead." A couple of months later he has to go on another trip and asks his neighbor to go over to his grandmother's house and check on her regularly. When he gets back, he asks his neighbor how everything went with his grandmother. The neighbor says, "Well she managed to crawl out through an open window..."
The driving instructor is internationally famous. I still remember that from when I was a kid in the UK. . Time is travelling much faster these days, but I am guessing that would be about about 10 years ago.
I absolutely love his delivery. Skits are so well thought out - there is no one like him today!
Brilliant thank you 😂
RIP Bob Newhart
1929-2024
Thanks for all the laughs
Timeless comedy. I remember this from when I was a kid and my parents had several of his albums. Still cracks me up at age 60.
We never had any comedy albums, but I remember my best friend's parents had a Bill Cosby album which included the giant heart routine.
One of the absolutely comedic genius of all time, maybe Robin Williams… nobody else holds a candle.
I would put Rodney Dangerfield, Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder a very close second.
Victor Borge. Abbot and Costello.
"My jurisdiction only goes up to his navel." His delivery is sublime.
My favorite Newhart sketch
The one and only Bob Newhart………….😊
The pauses are the best part.
He has perfect timing!
He will be missed. A truly funny guy. His deadpan style. RIP.

Apes And Apes’ Toes.
Without a doubt the best comedian in my opinion.
Immaculate timing, deadpan facial and vocal characteristics.

He's SO funny. I'm glad he's still alive. We are losing the greats at a staggering rate these days.
"Shoo Ape!"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
This one of my favorite routines

Berman killed
One of my favorite episodes of "The Twilight Zone" stars Shelley Berman ("The Mind and the Matter").
funny when I was young still funny
Bus Driver Training was another wonderful bit on the same album.
This is my favorite skit.
It's too true!
I liked the one where a woman across the street has fallen out of the window and he’s yelling instructions to her.😂🤣😂

I still love Abraham Lincoln vs Madison Ave.
I was gonna take the elevator up to his head.
RIP Bob. 😢

Who cares???
That's a compliment to the piece.
Humor has changed over time and has become more raunchy.
@@im1who84u exactly. No subtlety either

All my hero’s are nearly all gone so I guess I’m moving up the death ladder at an alarming rate.😮😮😮😮😮
Should have King Kong gotten a place in the village and that would have solved everything.
