And I totally want to see a tut on the McCall 7576 wide leg pants. I've never attempted my own shirring, and never had a pair of pants that had that. Would love to learn how to do it. And nice pattern - already searching where to get that one.

So, the McCalls pattern has an elastic band, but I changed it up to shirring. It's simple to do, I'll show you the change if this ends up being the demo pattern!
I love your sense of color and style. I’d love to see how you sew on sleeves as you always seem to do it better than the pattern directions.
As luck would have it I need to set some sleeves in a jacket! If the heatwave holds off I’ll get that up soon 💗

I just bought the Koos origami jacket pattern. I was thrilled to see yours done up. I'm stunned at the amount of fabric it takes, though. 3.9 metres of 150cm wide (60").
You know…..I would raise an eyebrow at that yardage suggestion. I’ve made mine out of less, and especially if you’re not doing the appliqué work, and cut pieces in a single layer-just requires a little pattern Tetris!

@@thehandmadeharriells very cool. I just saw that you dropped a new vid about your NYC place, I'm about to watch it. I am too much of an urbanite. I live in Bangkok, and for me NYC isn't a big enough city anymore, so a place like Fayetteville would feel painfully small to me.
Oddly enough tho. I once lived in a different Fayetteville, in NC. I have no doubt that the one in Arkansas is magnatudes better. Cheers.

😅 that's a HANDFUL. Have you tried sewing by timer? When I'm swamped, I carve out 15-30 minutes a day. All the little bits eventually add up to a dress...
@@thehandmadeharriells!!! I have not, what usually happens is that I have so much to do, I run out of those minutes, but maybe a seam here, a seam there... boundaries on fabric buying (no more until you sew or pass on what you have... that may be a stretch 😉 )... just maybe, I'll get there.

You never fail to make me laugh. I've actually got a jumpsuit idea that is multisize! And the hoodie dress is just a copy of a RTW sweatshirt, so, if you're into cutting something up to make a pattern, you can haz hoodie 😎

hahaha! It might be teen sized at this point.
Sadly the wax paper trick won't work...the zip coil actually tears away from the fabric after a few wears on these cheapo zips!

Ah yes, I inserted elastic into the hem allowance to cinch up the sleeves! I’m planning a video on easy ways to change the look of a pattern, I’ll add that little hack 💗

Fab dresses etc. I know already that you guys pay a lot more for (the same brand) patterns than we do in the UK, but how about fabric? If I say a rough price for a meter of pure cotton patterned fabric might be about £6 - £14 depending on quality and make, what is the price in the USA?
it all depends on where you're shopping-- in Fayetteville, where the only brick and mortar is Joanns, it's around $7 (sale price) to $25 (full price) for a patterned cotton. But here in NY I can find just about *anything* for under $10 a yard....cotton, brocade, silk...it's nice to be near my favorite shops again!
