The last section of this song is one of the most beautiful harmonies I’ve ever heard. It’s beyond perfect. A word doesn’t exist to describe how wonderful this performance is. God bless Kurt 🥲🙏🏼
The Outro (which is beautiful) as it begins and goes on, is in your face w/ its beauty and then it seems like Kurt Cobain starting to hum was an ‘in the moment’ thing and guitar Kirkwood realized it, loved it and dialed himself back so that those hums could come through; just wonderful...

You see a lot up there but don't be scared
Who needs action when you got words
When you've finished with the mop, then you can stop
And look at what you've done
The plateau's clean, no dirt to be seen
And the work, it was fun
Nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop
And an illustrated book about birds
You see a lot up there but don't be scared
Who needs action when you got words
Many hands began to scan around for the next plateau
Some said it was Greenland, and some say Mexico
Others decided it was nowhere except for where they stood
But those were all just guesses
Wouldn't help you if they could

Honestly what the lyrics is all about? 😅😅
Hi
Hola
Ridhuan AB imo it’s about hitting plateaus in life like we all do whether it be work, working out, music etc Just my opinion tho, Kurt wanted his songs to mean whatever they meant to you not what it meant to him, although this isn’t his song he picked it for a reason to cover.
@@d1want34 to me it's about true happiness (paradise on earth), but it's a song that's about what you feel like fits the most!!
Y'all know this is a cover, don't you?
The last section of this song is one of the most beautiful harmonies I’ve ever heard. It’s beyond perfect. A word doesn’t exist to describe how wonderful this performance is. God bless Kurt 🥲🙏🏼
Kurt is dead
God bless the kirkwoods
@@Batyr.samoychka🤡🤡
@@Batyr.samoychka no digas eso q esta muerto para nosotros no eso ya es un insulto muy grande
Kurt's thoughtful humming is so great..
"Nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop and an illustrated book about BiRrRrRds"
Best part.
I was scrolling through the comments and read your comment at the exact moment he sang that line. That BiRrRrRds got me
hahaha ye, such a tune
coot
best part (2)
Something about the way he clears his throat before he starts to sing is so endearing, this song and "lake of fire" were definitely the highlight of this set/album
The look on Kurt's face as he was humming was pure tranquility. It made me tear up a little.
And Kurt's just spinning his chair left and right like a little kid in it's mother's office
haha, he had such a child like vibe ? love it
Freddy Richards ❤️❤️❤️
Lets be honest, who doesnt spin side to side when on a spinning chair
Daniel Elder exactly!
He was going through withdrawals
This Unplugged Nirvana session is truly their lightning in a bottle moment if they ever had one...This WAS it!!
Try their album Live at the Paramount (1991). I'd say there's as much lightning in that bottle as there is in this one.
The guitar with Kurt's humming are therapy
I love all members of Nirvana, but Kurt was gifted beyond belief. Pure genius. God rest his soul 🙏
RIP Kurt 27 yrs we have been without you or your sweet soul. We miss you and still love you today. Never another. Today 04/05/21 marks the 27th yr. Feels like yesterday.
My god this man is so beautiful. Such a precious soul. The amount of sadness and emotion in his face when he sings gives me chills. He died before I was born but I feel his presence all of the time, especially in Seattle which is where I live at the moment. He has very much affected my life. Much love for you Kurt ❤️
Nobody in that crowd even understands what they’re witnessing. Just amazing. Masterpiece.
I never knew he sang this entire masterpiece with a cigarette in his hand
Yes sulking and smoking was very 90s.
Did he ever hit the cigarette?
Is there any other way to sing it? Light it with this song cause it is fiery as fuuuck.🔥💜🔥
@@AnnaLVajda so 90s
Anyone can do that tho
I'm listening to this on March 26th, 2020 in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. We need someone like Kurt to guide us through these tough times. All we have are his music. I feel soothed and comforted by his "werrrds". Thanks Kurt!
That's exactly why I'm here too. Stay safe
same here on May 9th 2020 ☠🖤💋
Consistently Random Ya the answer is Trump

@@jaegerentertainment6865 you dont actually think that do you?
Kurt had limitless talent and so much more to give
Truly a grunge legend and icon for so many generations to come
I like that this album sounds like a studio album but its actually live, the greatness of Kurt
Hey you might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like Nirvana. Particularly in this unplugged show, I can hear a Beatles influence in both bands too
we are all growing old, and look at him staying young forever.
even francis bean is older now than he ever was, probably a trip for her to think about haha
His human body is being eaten by worms. His art is timeless and still radiant like you still feel his energy even though he is gone. Growing old is not so bad but what do I know I'm thing 1 and that is thing 2
@@mikelinder2071 He was cremated, and yes I am well aware I am being "that guy" right now

I love the way Kurt says Birds!

Me too, his voice sounds so itchy
I love it how he just Humming At 2:24 and till the end :)
His voice is just one of a kind
I’ve seen this a million times, and I just realized he’s sitting on a random office chair.
Yeah they showed him a bunch of really great stools and chairs and thats what he picked😂
Over two decades and I hadn't noticed either
Everyone’s gotta sit on something
its like the organisers of the show were last minute like:
"aww shit we don't have a chair for Kurt, quick, go get the nice one from the my office"
back when...mtv was broke too...i guess
Cobain will never die in my mind. Him and his music will live on forever
when you have online class at 8 AM but its 3 am and you’re watching nirvana mtv unplugged
Sounds about right, yeah
same
literally 3:29 here rn
me rn
When you have online classes at 8 and it's 8 am but you're still watching Nirvana cause who cares about education when you can watch Kurt Cobain!
It's easily one of the best pieces of music ever written.
i agree meat puppets II is one of the best pieces of music ever written!!

Feel the same.... Heard this album....this song sooo many times and i still tear up every time
I'm so happy I'm not the only one, the way he sings the verses.. I just can't explain it, it just touches my soul and makes me sad everytime..
i dont know how to express this properly but the part from 2.16 till the end gets me everytime. i feel overwhelmed. its not sadness but sometimes tears roll. nirvana helped me in my early teens when i was struggling with life. i love them.
I used to force myself to take breaks from nirvana so I could always enjoy the song :)
Especially with the end solo
Ima have to start doing that
Most underrated Nirvana song on unplugged in my opinion. Personally one of my favorites. I cant explain it. This song is so catchy, but so eerie.
A song about the destruction of the land due to highways being built, mining, etc….
the guitar solo that starts at 2:10 is very profound
Using a quarter as a pick, mind you.

one of the best chord progressions. radiohead has many songs with similar thats why i love them. you can see kurt drifting away during that part... he did the same during the rehearsal. it does something to you when you hear that chord progressions idk what

I love this moment from the unplugged.
This unplugged is a underrated masterpiece
underrated???????????????????????????????????????
A masterpiece definitely, but underrated? Not really. Even the least viewed songs have 10m+ views, as well as being referred to by the best acoustic performance ever by many.
What a legend. This is proper music, no auto tune, no horrible DJ bass boosts. This was all a masterpiece. One of my favourite bands to listen to, such a shame that he is gone.

I have a huge picture of him by my bed . My daughter got it for me for my birthday. The other wall has Chris Cornell and Layne Staley.. lots of others waiting to be put up

Magical. The final acoustic guitars ensemble, since I listened to it (1993), always got me gooseflesh. And it's gonna keep that utterly feeling.
How delicate every musician was in this situation, they felt they were just there to help this angel and true poet shine
In this case, Curt Kirkwood would be the poet. Meat Puppets stuff is truly awesome.

Kurt is the perfect culmination of beauty combined with pain.
Fun fact about Kurt that people don't really bring up these days. He had a fetish for wearing womens underwear...everyday. People also like to bring up his addiction to boy, but his DOC was cough syrup.
