My favorite thing about Teddy's content is the attention to watch size. Especially the "wears like" feature
I also enjoy how his approach to presenting every watch is done in the same logical organized fashion, so I always know I'll get the relevant info I need for possible shopping purposes
Anything less than 40mm is a lady’s watch.
@@yusufbest4475 You must be a Ladyboy, I can be your gorrilla😉😉
You are projecting your insecurity. Wearing larger watches dont compensate for your deep seated insecurity of what it means to be a man.
@@silveriver9 Wearing lady sized watches is your expression of trying to be effeminate and being dominated and penetrated by an Alpha Male like me.
I do own a 4-watch - collection, that actually costs roundabout eleven thousand:
- My "daily driver" from Mon-Fri: Last years Tudor Ranger with the steel bracelet. To me, being a physician, this is the perfect watch for work. I wouldn't want to hold a watch that screams luxury under a patients nose (but to each his own) so I love its tool-like beauty and understatement
- My weekend-watch for a BBQ with friends or a trip with the kids: The Hamilton Murph (42 for me). Beautiful watch. I love its versatility and own 4 additional leather straps I keep rotating. In theory, this could be the only watch one ever "needs"...
- My dress watch: A Baltic MR01 (silver dial). I don't dress up very often these days, so this is to me is perfectly suitable.
- The watch I only wear for "special occasions" and on holidays: The Omega Seamaster Diver 300m, white on a rubber strap.
I'm very happy with my collection although I have to admit: There are a few GS models out there that look very, very tempting😅
Grand Seiko is an amazing brand. I love the use of the power reserve in the case back. Beautiful utility.
Not very convenient
That JLC ultra thin moonphase is so gorgeous. Wish I could justify it, but hard to get away from my Longines Moonphase 42mm in blue.
I have been going through a lot of health problems, anxiety, depression. But finding your videos and getting into watches has been a life changing distraction from it all. Thank you for everything you do.
HOpe things get better for ya! Yeah, i've found watch channels to be very relaxing and therapeutic for me as well
Grand Seiko SBGA413 Cherry Blossom and a Tudor Pelagos 39.
My 2 favorite watches, and I own both.
As someone who is starting to get going with his collection, Teddy’s videos are a perfect balance of education and buyer’s guide. The Aqua Terra highlighted here is my next target.
I'm getting an Aqua Terra soon!
Hey Teddy, I wanted to start off by saying thank you. Your videos are awesome and always very informative. With your help today I just purchased what I consider my 1st quality time piece to start my collection. I went with the Doxa Sub 200 Professional on the bracelet. I love it. Thanks again for the info on it to help me make my decision. Looking forward to starting this journey.
I can't get tired of this series.
My combo for this price range would be an Aqua Terra from the video as an everyday/sports watch and JLC Reverso for a dress watch. Might be stretching the price with JLC a bit (not exactly sure how much they are on retail because stores dont reveal the price), but those 2 sound like a dream collection to me.
The best one watch collection nowadays is the GS Lake Suwa 😍
I have a 36 datejust steel/gold and a sub no date and i just feel like its the absolute perfect 2 watch collection. I have more watches, but those 2 watches can cover literally any occasion
Agree. I got sub date ans dj 36 blue and they are stuning next yo each other. Nothing else yuou can add.
Teddy do you not think the Polaris date is worth it?
I also have a few watches but my Grand Seiko SBGA 283 and Tudor Blackbay 58 can do everything. Great two watch collection.
Wearing my father’s DateJust ref 16233 Steel/Gold with a fluted bezel and Champagne dial on a jubilee bracelet… Even if it wasn’t my father’s watch I would still adore this thing, it’s simple yet uniquely elegant, it really is an incredibly beautiful time piece! My father was a contractor but despite his line of work he wore his watch every single day, when he got sick as a teen I brought it to him thinking he would want it as a good luck charm before going into surgery (yeah I was silly). Instead he took my hand and showed me how to wind it and how to set the time before giving it to me and telling me to keep it safe. I’m 19 now, and I wear it every single day, when it’s on my wrist, as silly as it sounds it’s like he’s still with me. ❤
@@griffins750 that's really cool, thanks sharing. I plan on giving my most collection to my son before I pass considering he's 10 and I'm 32. I want him to be able to enjoy them like I have.
The el Primero and GS two amazing movements; also the Longines and the Doxa.
This is my favourite series by a mile. Absolutely love it!
A pure pleasure to watch…..Superb across the board options of beautiful timepieces Teddy.
Great combination of entertaining and informative! Thanks Teddy!
This was my budget over a 12 month period and as much as I wanted to pull the trigger on a grey market Rolex Sub/explorer 2. I now have 2 new watches. Tudor BBGMT & Panerai luminor….and I’m so glad I got these
I think I'm definitely checking off the boxes, juggling between a GMT, dive watch or field watch for my next purchase
Man that Zenith looks great. From the dial to the movement it's just stunning.
I just started my own watch collection. This is an amazing hobby and I appreciate the tips and suggestions from none other than the Watch Chad himself. 😎
I always enjoy your recommendations. I look at store looking for new watches all the time. Will be buying my third watch soon
Can you make a video on quality beater watches? This is an overlooked category because collectors never want to "beat" on anything in their collection. I think the beater is a pivotal piece in any collection.
I love this kind of video. 1. Check Off the Boxes 2. Hipster 3. Perfect Duo.
Love your channel and knowledge man about the watch industry and world!!! Just bought the 38 mm Hamilton Murph from your website and it comes today!!! So fkn stoked ! 🎉
Enjoy the new watch, Ryan! Great choice.
amazing video! thank you Teddy! I discovered many new models !
I loved the different categories and the hipster group was really fun. My dream watch had long been the Santos, and I got the Santos Galbée in 2011 as my one luxury watch. I thought I’d never “need” or want another watch. That lasted for more than 10 years. But as my brother got more into watches (Seikos specifically) and I had a trip to Japan planned, it got him excited for JDMs and me for the watch universe again. For the last year my “To Watch” list is basically Watches to Watch list, many of which are yours.
I love these videos and surprisingly, I see myself in all of these categories
I was lucky enough to be able to purchase the Saffron Aqua Terra and you are spot on Teddy with the date window!! Didn’t notice it until watching this video
Another awesome video Teddy!
Dude that Vulcan Cricket is super sick! Looking fwd to your video.
For me it is really interesting how many people buy watches for the sake of owning certain "types" of watches, e.g. Chronograph/Diver/etc.. I personally just buy what I like. I own both a GS SBGA 415 as well as a SBGA 413 which might seem weird for some people but I just buy what looks like art to me.
Great video, Teddy! I am surprised the Omega Globemaster didn't make it into any of the collections. IMHO it is one of the most versatile watches available, and is generally overlooked in the watch enthusiast community.
Teddy much love for your work! Please give us a good brands to buy straps for our watches from. Thank you!
It took me 8 years but I finally got my perfect duo:
A Speedy Pro and a Grand Seiko GMT!
That Oris is stunning. Great video Teddy!
This is really cool and helpful. 🙏
The cool thing about the Zenith Chronomaster sport is you can pick them up online for way less than retail.
How much would you expect to pay?
@@rohanpatel2828 $9,500 brand new, $8,500 in excellent/near mint condition
The New Sport with black bezel your Not finding for 8500! Maybe in a year or two.
@@frankmirandosr875 not new. They are available in excellent condition around $8,500 in Chrono24
@@frankmirandosr875 Yes you can. There are several on Chrono24 for less than $8,000 right now. And that is way less than retail. The retail price on these is $11,000. That's around a 30% discount.
A very interesting and well articulated video.
1. Dress watch 2. Diver with black or blue dial 3. Panda chronograph. All with 20/22mm lug width for strap combinations. Covers all occasions (toss in a smart/g-shock if you work blue collar/out field). *Edit: Panda chrono can eliminate the need for a diver if you don't go into the water.
Love this teddy, u really inspired me to start my collection back in 2018! love from SWEDEN :)
Love this channel always waiting for new videos 😊
Excellent video Teddy! I'd have to go with the omega Seamaster and Seiko 5 sports as my duo. Wouldn't consider myself fancy enough to own a dress watch, I need something more sporty than the Omega.
Great video again! Loving the JLC and Certina. 👍👏
Another excellent video. Teddy has impeccable taste. The size feature is also key as buying the wrong size is the biggest rookie mistake. When it comes to size the mm is not the only consideration. Lug to lug can be important, especially if they don't turn down. Also, black watches wear smaller than white watches. Dive watches wear smaller than thin bezel watches.
Watch Fit to wrist size (architecture) is paramount. Learning
curve on that for collector's.
I like the 'build a collection for a personality' approach to this video, it hits home. I would love a lot of watches on the list... Pepsi gmt or a sweet set of 5 or so watches would be my move for 11k
Thanks Teddy, another great vid
I have been Person 2 most of my life, but after watching this vlog, I am transitioning rapidly to Person 5, very enjoyable Teddy!
Beautiful watches. Teddy's preferences are mine
Well done!
My favorites are the JLC, Grand Seiko, and the Glashutte Original. Now, in the real world of brands I could afford, my favorites come from Longines.
very informative as alway, well done.
the Longines 40mm Record Chronograph is a real beauty. With a brown leather strap...love it. However, I already own a Union Glashütte Noramis Chronograph, also with a black dial, that is a pretty close relative. Sadly too close for a smaller collection of around 10 pieces. Anyway, a great watch!
the path i took last year was acquiring the best watch i could get for $11K...one with:
- light & not irritating to have on my wrist all day -> Titanuim case / bracelet
- high contrast
- saphire glass
- micro adjustments
- high accuracy Sprive Drive
- gorgeous dial
I went with the Grand Seiko Evo 9 Back Stream SLGA015. it's perfect. great exit watch.
Hey Teddy! I was wondering if Agelocer is a good cheap watch brand. I really want a tourbillon but they are out of my price range, should I buy or stay away! Love the videos!
One problem is that the blue Bel Canto shown here, is a sold out limited edition that goes for closer to 10k on the used marked. There are other colors, that cost around 4,5k (not 3,6k), but none look as good as the blue one.
Regarding Bel Canto, at first I was very much taken by the hype, but at the end of the day it will get real old, real quick. Dial is hard to read, it's a novelty and it will die down, and finally, you are right - the blue is best - the rest is 'meh'.
Great video. Thanks
Is the Nomos still offered in this configuration? On their site I see the Tangente midnight blue with gold hands in a 35 however in the 38 option only rhodium-plated. Ref 133 is all I see.
I'm the "check all the boxes" collector.
There are so many beautiful pieces out there, that I can't imagine missing any type of watch.
And it's also hard to pick just one of each type of watch (dress, diver, chronograph, GMT/dual time, field, Everyday/GADA, pilot, quartz...). Always looking for a new type of watch to include in the collection... 🤷🤦😁
Finally the guide I need, you earned my sub 100%
@________MrTeddyBaldassarre no please delete your comment it's stupid and viewers of Teddy's channel aren't kids
I like your picks, Teddy. My favorites: Rolex Pepsi, GO SeaQ, JLC Master Thin Moon, and Grand Seiko SBG 007. I just spent $40k. Oops!😊
I’m saving up to buy the Tudor BB 54 or the 58. I just adore that watch
love your videos! can you make watch collection with Tudor watch only in budget :p
love these videos
Definitely the On Trend for me, seeing as I have the navy BB58 already.
The Pepsi is the only GMT dial that looks better on the jubilee. The other dials look better on the oyster. So, you’re close to correct Teddy 😂
Yup, agreed. Batman looks better on an oyster bracelet.
The Bel Canto is a fantastic watch! Best watch of 2022 in my opinion
Great video Teddy. I myself am a fan of the perfect DUO. I have a White Faced Omega Seamaster with the Grand Seiko Shunbun. Tell me what ya think.
Great, great watches in this video( maybe one I wouldn't include). I buy used or grey market so I have a Tag Monaco, Cartier Roadster, and a Zenith Elite chronograph with the El Primero movement. Under 8k for all three.
Alternative Perfect Duo:
- Dress Watch: Grand Seiko SBGE 271 („Kanro“), attractive and with the bonus of being a GMT
- Sports Watch: Tudor (Black Bay 58 / Pelagos FXD / Pelagos 39)
the SBGY007 is the watch I aspire to get... nothing is done over-the-top but that dial is absolutely stunning.
The Chronomaster Sport takes a lot more from the Zenith De Luca than the Daytona. They did a black bezel chronograph long before the Sport. Just a fyi
Fell in love with tge Oris on this video
I really hope you will also often discuss and recommend "manual winding" watches, which are certainly affordable
I agree. If I was a just one watch person, the GMT Master II is perfect. If I had to keep only one watch in my collection, It would be my Pepsi.
Another mention is Glashutte Original seventies date but they stopped making them and for little more get the seventies chronograph which can be had preowned great condition for around 111k
Hi Teddy, where did you get that blazer? Thanks.
As a bit of a rally snob I must add that Group C was a sportscar classification used in the World Endurance Championship. The rally classification was Group B!
I like the "Overbuilt" collection. I love durability and over engineered everything. My first watch, the Victorinox INOX titanium 241812, black and yellow. Next, I don't know, looking at a G-Shock MTG line.
Omiwatari & Tudor BB. That would be my two and through. Working toward that……along with some Nomos because……well, Nomos 😎👍🏼
I would go the Hipster route. Definitely some unique watches.
Hi Teddy, Group C was a category of sports car racing introduced by the FIA in 1982 and continuing until 1993. So think prototypes at Le Mans
Came here to make that exact comment. The famous rally cars of the 80s were group-b
Hi Teddy could you please review Cartier Santos Dumont? I like the design and its history but I think for a quartz watch the price is rather steep. Appreciate your insight into this watch.
Hi all, I just came back to collecting watches (I had a Casio Edifice 5118/EF-539 before) with my first buy being the Seiko 5 Sports "Sea Urchin" in the Pepsi colorway and I was wondering what the community thinks about that watch.
@Teddy Baldassarre
I searched your channel for Egard watches. I own one and really like it. Just curious why you have no videos on their watches. Granted, they are NOT a Rolex, but still a nice watch, especially for men on a budget like me being retired military.
This made me lol at myself for owning a OP41 in green, bb58 in guilt and a moonswatch 😂 love them all.
Hi Teddy I realised that u Don Do any vid on F. M.
I think f. M provide high horology watches but the cuvex shape does not fit small wrist.....
Hope to c a vid on f. M
What about saicos new Corona graph with a column wheel and vertical clutch thread around the $3,000 range classy beautiful and an amazing time piece
That Grand Seiko is incredible, wow
The hipster coffee comment 😂😂😂 just realized it's a buddy of mine 😂😂😂😂 can't wait to tell him
The GTM-Master II is a $20,000 watch at this point...
What would you pair with a BB41 for a 10k collection?
Where can I buy the Bel Canto at retail price? 🙌🏼
In my imagination, I'm a check off all the boxes guys. In reality, I'll probably have a one watch collection instead. I'm working on getting a Pepsi on jubilee, but if that doesn't pan out, I am in love with the OOP LN. Would probably buy a second hand factory GMT jubilee for it. Stellar combination.
i really like your picks. the hipster could get a smart watch or g-shock.
Where would you place Nivada?
For the perfect pair, I would go with the Santos De Cartier not Dumont. You get the in house movement, both a bracelet and strap(a bracelet that is quick change and tool less link removal and the strap coming with a deployment buckle). Plus its a better sport option and just as good as a dress option. The medium goes for $6800. Too me it’s not even close. Your second watch could be either the Longines Spirit Chrono with a flawless case and almost in-house mechanism, choice of bracelet or strap and they are also quick change at about $3100 on the steel or if you want to up it a bit go to the Longines Spirit Chrono fly back which is even nicer for $4400 on the steel. The other option would be an Oris Aquis Date calibre 400 in 41.5 mm for $3700.
Best 11k duo: Explorer 1 40 mm + B&M Clifton Baumatic
We always go slightly over budget in some recommendations anyway, it's just a thing that we do. But I just find it funny Teddy say it's because we are bad at math lolz
I’d do the “Perfect Duo” a Cartier Santos and a Tudor Black Bay Pro and a g-shock with the change 😅
