Thank you so much for putting up your blog explaining the 4 intervals of doom. This helped me understand what are minor and major intervals as well as 'perfect' intervals, and how to actually use dissonance. Its still challenging to use dissonance, but its finding its way into my writing, particularly the flat 2nd, its a ton of fun and so thank you so much i really appreciate the fantastic lesson!! Its really getting me out of that minor scale mode of thinking and spicing things up!
@@DoesItDoom Yeah nobody teaches doom and stoner metal so that was incredibly useful thank you so much again. Btw youre an awesome teacher, you explain everything so methodically and coherently.
I am really having trouble with Hung Drawn and Quartered. In fact I have absolutely no clue where to begin. There doesn't appear to be any tabs that I can find for this one either.
Just subscribed to your Patreon, I think I'll be busy for the next few months! Thanks for sharing your precious knowledge. Do you have an opinion on Blackstar valve pedals? I think I found little similarities with High On Fire tones using mine (well, not exactly, but this satisfies me lol).
Taofik953 Thanks for the sub! The setup I use for these lesson videos is very basic-directly into a solid state Orange Crush 20. Check out my Instagram page @doesitdoom if you’re interested in some better tone demos using the rigs behind me!
elkemm1 i believe it might be because high on fire doesn’t play 440hz like a majority of the bands out there. I forget but I believe it might be 432hz that they tune to
@@DoesItDoom I've been sourcing free vsts and have found some really good amp sims and cab impulses. I've found vst pedals as well but what should I be looking for as far as "signal chain" I would guess it 's more or less fuzz -> amp -> cab. Maybe an eq in the loop or before/after the fuzz?
Chris Adams my setup for these lesson videos is ultra simple. I run straight into a solid state Orange Crush 20 amp which has a built-in 4x12 cab sim on the line-out. Run from there directly into my audio interface. I run the amp on the dirty channel. No pedals, no post EQ - The amp itself has a fairly open / fuzzy tone and feel to it.
@@DoesItDoom I've been window shopping amps and one of these Crush's might just do the trick. Especially with the cab sim on the line-out. Score! Thanks a ton. Keep up the great work.
Chris Adams I just posted an 8min Instagram live story running through the details of my setup for producing these lesson videos. Might be worth a quick look for ya.
Hey Steve - U were close, but forgot the most important thing about playing any Matt Pike riffs = NO SHIRT !!!! \m/
Byron Laird TRUTH!!!! My favorite videos to repost on @itdooms are the ones where guys go shirtless for maximum authenticity. 😩🐐🤘🏻
But without an epic wolf tattoo it's just not the same
More high on fire riffs! That tone is monstrous!
Slung From A Tree thanks for checking it out! Definitely much more High on Fire to come!
Just came across your channel, you literally made me leave work early so I can go home and jam in my guitar room
Now that’s a cool comment! Hope it was worth the early departure! 🤘🏻🐐

Jason Wotring one of the greatest of all time.
I am really having trouble with Hung Drawn and Quartered. In fact I have absolutely no clue where to begin. There doesn't appear to be any tabs that I can find for this one either.
Jason Wotring would love to have a go at it someday! High on Fire can be fairly challenging to figure out at times.

Hung, Drawn & Quartered!
Petr Jericho such a good one!!
Do you have any idea how he does the outro on this song? I believe it is the same way he does the intro and outro of dopesmoker.
Sorry, no info on that front. 🤷🏻♂️
@@DoesItDoom Okay, thank you anyway, and keep believing in the signs of the reptile master!
Fuck yes! Please do Ghost Neck next! Those riffs are the nastiest.
Collis Crafton thanks for checking it out!! I’ll add it to the growing list of requests!!
Can you do some lessons on songs from Surrounded By Thieves such as Speedwolf and the self titled track?
Such an awesome album. I think I had Speedwolf completely sorted out a couple years back but never taught it.
I iphone speaker can’t handle this level of brutality.

Thanx a lot for such clear explanation. Great channel.
What do you thing about to make some lesson for "Brother in the wind"?
Appreciate it, brother. I’ll add that one to the request list. Great song!!!

Does It Doom? Not as glad as I am lol. Awesome channel man.
Arnie Slab thanks man. I appreciate it.
Just orange drive or used a pedal?
Just the amp.
"Master of Fists" please.
damn dude, pretty solid tone u've got there, a bit bright tho compared to the original. still, u got me subscribed

I sound like B or the album does?

What about Electric Wizard stuff ?
Какой-то Чувак definitely planning some EW. What songs do you want to see?
Does It Doom? Many fans very like Dopethrone album, my favorite song “We hate you”.
@@andrewwwg.8359 cool, man, I'll add it to the list. I'd expect I'll get into EW here sooner than later. Stay tuned!
Is there anyway to get a similar tone to this using vsts?
I would guess so, but I’m not familiar with VSTs.
