Your tutorials always really impress me, because it's clear you do your research on both the "official" way to play the songs as they are recorded, but also explore numerous live examples of the songs being played in a more nuanced manner. Appreciate the tutorial, keep it up 🤘🤘
Thanks, Erik! I spend most of my time just studying and playing along with loads of live footage. Oftentimes I have to go back and almost relearn\adjust certain parts to match the albums, especially if the song is old and the live footage recent. It's always a top priority of mine to play the songs the "official" way. Thanks for taking notice!
I just found your channel while I was searching for C Standard lessons. I didn't know anything about C Standard before this video. Thanks for this tutorial man. Very clear and concise.
Thanks so much for gear suggestion!!!! Had a Crush 20 lying here and playing it through a Little Big Muff with a Troy van Leeuwen Jazzmaster. Holy crap......exactly that sound. 🤪
Does It Doom? Cool man. Don’t know if you’re a fan or not but there’s a serious lack of neurosis content on RUclips. They’re my favourite band and some of those tones and riffs are killer. Keep up the good work man
Whoa... I now have a new fuzz pedal on my wishlist! Also, could you possibly do some lessons (or any other type of video really) on Earth Ship? Keep up the filthy work \m/
One of my favorite sleep songs. Man I saw monolord live last night. Holy shit it was unreal. Can I make a request for a lesson? Audhumbla by monolord. That would be sick
@@DoesItDoom So glad someone is here for us begginer guitarist Weedians that can't tab out the solos through our ears, when you end up getting to 100k subs you should do a full dopesmoker lesson (with morris!)
@@haxhuragsgax5453 hey im not does it doom but when im transcribing sleep I just go into drop c and mess around on the 12th fret using powerchords, sleep stays mainly in pentatonic and sometimes harmonic minor so once you learn the notes on the low e (c) string you can just riff that shit out gl!
I struggled in the early stages as well, and it's something that I got better at over time through a lot of practice. Learning scales and interval relationships (how notes sound in relation to the root note) helped a lot, but in putting together every lesson I study countless videos of the band playing the actual songs live--without that I could never achieve the accuracy that I shoot for. So if you're trying to learn a song, see if you can find footage of the band playing it live, and try to sort of follow along. This is where knowing scales tends to help, as it becomes easy to find the correct notes, even with only a quick glimpse of where the guitarist's hands are positioned on the fretboard.
@@damianboolsen I figured he meant at a particular show he attended. There are several live performance videos here on RUclips -- I studied them all week!
Thanks so much man! You nailed what I was asking. I was told a way higher gauge. I'm an Ernie ball fan so that's why I asked your advice. Thanks so much.
@@DoesItDoom Yea I was advised on like a 13 set. Which seemed huge to me! Thanks for the advice. That First Act is so cool man. Never see any of them anywhere.

Iommi uses 9-42 for C# in Sabbath, Garrett uses 11-54 for C in Windhand, Jus uses 10-52 for B in Electric Wizard, Jimmy uses 11-56 for C in EHG, Thomas uses 11-56 for B in Monolord, etc.
I can't remember if I asked if you have listened to asunder? It's an offshoot of dystopia... I can only find it on RUclips. Check it out. Doooom. Thx as always. I'm going thru your vids and learning.
A couple of weeks ago i saw you bought v8 Black russian muff. What do you think about this muff? it seemed to me less gain than a classic pi, but a lot more bass (tone to zero handle).

quick question , you're using the Burly slinky for C standard , would you go up to a higher gauge for Drop B
or keep the Burly set? thanks man!
