What people keep forgetting is Intel knew early 2023 about their 13th gen CPUS actually had defects (via corrosion) but they didn't tell anyone. They have B2B partners now asking why were their RMAs not honored when they knew before and it only came out now.

@@DaggerDaggerYT The only things that will save them from that is if the gov't steps in. Knowingly hiding defects for more than a year is grounds for a class action lawsuit. Add to the fact that they lied about their BGA chips with reports of laptop partners complaining about 13th and 14th gen failing. If they don't get sued or a total recall isn't made, the FTC needs to be called out for this. Think about it, Samsung had less than 200 reports in the US and recalled 2.5 million phones. Intel just swept everything under the rug and it's like nothing, because its a US company. I know it's a bit extreme comparing it to a mobile phone, but Intel has affected B2B partners all over the world. They've also produced much more 13th and 14th gen chips than just the paltry 2.5 million phones Sammy recalled. On average Intel produces near 2 billion chips per year. Imagine when B2B partners say the failure rate is 50-100%.

How ? It's simple, to keep up in terms of performances, the only solution they found was to push the silicone to its limit, to an unreasonable point.
      This is why.
To keep up in terms of performances they have a CPUs consuming 4 times as much power, anyone can understand that Intel was acting totally desperate with 13th and 14th gen to keep up in terms of performances.

I also got a 12th Gen CPU and I'm still angry. I was planning on waiting for 13th/14th Gen prices to come down and slap in a 14700K or 14900K a few years down the road. Now, there's too much of a gamble in grabbing one since all of the SKUs are like playing timed minesweeper. Bartlett Lake _might_ be an okay upgrade, but the fact remains that there's two years of CPUs that will always be under the shadow of dying with little warning.
I went AMD with my past builds and went Intel this time around since there was a nice confluence of factors (DDR5 dropped in price, AM5 motherboards were still pricey, and I really wanted an all Intel system just for kicks.)
They need the people who are doing Arc's PR on board because despite Arc's massive screwed up launch, they fessed up to it not being up to par and went about trying to actually make it good. They didn't BS anyone after launch and did the hard work to make things right. The fact that the CPU division tried to brush this under the rug for so long is unforgivable.
I don't care if Alder Lake was fine or that Bartlett Lake will be okay. After (a long postponed) upgrade, I will never buy a CPU from Intel again until they get their act together.

Went with Intel i9-13900K Everything worked great at the first month and no issues. Then suddenly when playing games with some friends the entire PC would just freeze and Id have to hold down the power button to turn it off. I thought It was a game issue at the time and thought nothing more of it. A couple of months pass and I notice that when loading into some games and areas in games the temps would go into extremes for a little bit and then stop. Then now in the past 3 months more random issues have come up like desktop apps crashing out of the blue. I was looking at all sorts of threads and advice but nothing seemed to be of use so I figure that maybe I have a computer virus or something but then I see someone post about these Intel issues and it all just clicked. Ordered AMD today so I can change asap cause the Intel card noticeably and quickly degrades when the issues come around.

Its interesting to hear from someone first hand who is having all these issues though, thanks for sharing.
If you do end up switching to AMD with an AM5 Motherboard, it should still last you a long time at this point as you will be able to upgrade to any future generations of CPUs that support AM5, there should be at least 1 or two more generations on AM5.

I can perfectly imagine what it must feel like to put that machine together after investing so much only for it to give you headache after headache. I'm so glad I got a 7800X3D instead. Been using it for about a month now, absolutely zero issues.

INTEL.... You Shattered my DREAM !!! Hope your kids give you the look of disappointment :D

My i9 13900k is recently all of a sudden making every program crash frequently. Hoping to get a replacement right now but Intel's customer suupport is so bad it's crazy to navigate their site. It's as if they wanted to make it as painful as humanly possible to use your warranty.
I identified the problem being a damaged core by using a software called Lasso, after googling a bit it seems that the main problem of 13 and 14th gen intel processors draw too much power causing them to become defective within a couple years.

Greed. Pure, unadulterated, greed. That's the one thing driving every issue that's now biting Intel in the ass now. I was super excited to see how their Battlemage GPUs developed, but now I'm just frustrated. AMD makes stupid, stupid marketing decisions. Stupid pricing decisions to either encourage buying a higher SKU. Stupid last-minute things. But this? This is so, so much worse. So, so much more malicious.

    • @BridgeTROLL777
      @BridgeTROLL777 20 дней назад

Greed, is the one thing protecting them from full recall that would be a massive blow on them. Besides all corporations are founded on greed, that is their mandate, AMD isnt any different.
Providing fix that might work or not plus extending warranty avoids them billions of losses that would come if they recalled all chips.

My solution for BSODs were fresh installs, ram kit swaps, eventually I just went Nobara 39 then 40 recently. On 12700KF & 12900KF 4090 but that stuff gets annoying to deal with. So much time spent in the BIOS for the last year getting both machines stable.

Apparently there's evidence of oxidation at one of Intel's fabs, on top of people noticing that the power delivery in the cpu that supplies to both the P and E cores, as well as PCI lanes is being way overworked. You are definitely way safer skipping the next couple of Intel skews that aren't on a new node. 7800x3d is a safer bet. 12900k cpus are also seemingly fine, but Zen4 is just better.

man that sucks, I got my 13900k on presale, and I do heavy 3d rendering for work, I haven't oc or downclocked or undervolted or anything, not even tried the micro codes or the new bios, I downloaded the last bios from asus proart, but read some threads that is unstable for some people and haven't updated it, idk if it helps for you but the settings I got, are, all on auto, and disabling all the asus crap, multicore blah blah, and the seting that says "enforce all intel limits" I don't remember where it is, but with that on, I haven't had a single bsod, right from the start it gave me some errors but it was memory issues, I got 128 gb and on of the stcks was a fifferent kind of chip than the rest, I returned the kit and got anohter one and problem solved to this day, saw you have a noctua, temperature seems to be critical, I have this on a 360 aio and a thermalright contact frame too, all since the day 1, if you get another 13 or 14 i9 I recommend you those settings and a better cooler and a contact frame 👌

I empathise. Having problems like that with any PC, let alone an expensive one really is a nightmare. Not only because of the need to systematically swap things in and out if the source of the issue is not known but it also takes a lot of time, costs money causes a lot of stress and prevents other productive work being done. I have almost always followed a rule whereby when I build a new machine, I only use components that have been on the market for at least 18 months but are still available new. That way, if there are issues I nearly always avoid them. The only time I ever did run into issues was when I broke that rule. I am fine buying a recent or current product if it is merely a faster version of precisely the same thing sold 18 months ago but that is the limit of my rule-bending. My machines might not ever be state of the art but since anything I run on them is also mature software, the only thing I really miss out on is the very latest and greatest (which is usually under beta testing anyway). To give an example, the brand new machine I built this week is a mere B550 chipset ASUS mainboard with 5800x3D CPU and RTX4080 Super. Granted the GPU did not come onto the market 6 months ago but it is still an RTX 4 series architecture which is of course older than that.

I had it running butter smooth for three months and now it's fucking up again, but even worse. I never even had a BSOD until very recently and now my files are becoming corrupted. And for some reason, this now happened after the latest microcode update. Now I'll have to sell my mobo too. I'm never touching Intel for the rest of my life. Going with the Ryzen 7950X3D probably. So disappointed.

Intel has a long long history of doing all sorts of shoddy things, from paid stores to only sell intel (illegally), the same with benchmarks, execute worst code for AMD in their compiler, and a long etc.
