Not even joking. That truck mainly sees patent and burnouts/donuts. Was built about 12 years ago. Engine, body, ect. And just drove ever since. 79 Ford trucks are some of the best looking trucks ford produced. Pure character! Ford pioneered the retro/modern remake of the muscle cars, they should do a retro/modern 79 pickup build! Cause I would buy one if they ever do!
Sure brings back memories! I had a similar build, with a 500hp fe block in a 75 f250 with a 79 front end. 10" of lift on 40s, about 20 years ago! Lol Your truck is Badass! Love it!!!

Elijah Brown I drove a Nasty 76 HiBoy in Highschool that had a 390 out of an old Mercury and a C6 with a 205.... I can't even count all the times that truck had another Ford, Chevrolet or Dodge hooked to the bumper and only ever lost one tug with that truck and that was to a F250 that had shitty tires and a 300-6.... loved that truck, ran 35x12.50 BFG AT's on 16.5 wheels for tugging and a set of wore out 9.00x16 Co-oP Super Traction Kings for the Mud Boggs. Man I miss that old truck, sold it about 20 years ago and have regretted it every day since

Now that's just truly real OBS BFT those older trucks were always the best in strength and what a truck really should be used for which is power, but maybe you probably don't have good MPG, but you can't always get everything on point.
Taylor Woodward who is the whinny chevy boy? There is only 2 reply on this comment. I was not whinny btw, just pointing out that you need to overcome static friction-which is greater than moving friction.
I grew up with a Ford F250 high boy with 360 2bbl and the 4 speed with granny low. Great for low speed crawling off road on the farm. Being in the northeast, biggest problem was rust. The truck bed only lasted around 5 years. I suspect a good dual plane aluminum manifold and 4 barrel carb and electric choke would have helped fuel economy and ring wear. The heavy iron intake didn’t warm up fast. Being used off road so much, did a lot of repairs on u joints, axle seals, etc. Driving in deep water is fun but tough on machines.
Wouldn't hurt me one bit to see more of this truck in action. Great build!!
Just a 1/2 ton street truck for the most part.

I had a 72. Brought it back from the dead. Built with a BBF and 40 inch MTs
I agree. I think a close second was the '92 - '97 body style.
Whether it's a Chevy Ford or Dodge they don't make 4-wheel drive trucks like they used to
Amen to that
