These are life savers! I was under the illusion, I’d buy some fpv drones and just fly, I’m useless on pc but so far learned how to take a drone with unknown fc that’s firmware was out of date. Find out what the fc is, fix connection problems, save calibrations, update firmware and restore it, convert it from mode 1 to mode 2 and setup modes to how I like them, basically get it flying like it should! Really enjoying the programming side of things.
I have owned my quad for about 4 weeks and didn't even know how to start. I am sooooo thankful for all your videos which make learning of this hobby so much less frustrating and much easier to understand. Keep up your awesome work! Like always I did learn a lot from this video
I am not able to say how much I appreciate and glad I am to You for all Your video's. They are one of the most valuable on whole RUclips, at least for begginers like me. Thanks Mate 👍
video idea: how should motors sound? Both on a bench without props, and in the air. What sounds should you expect, and what sort of problems can be indicated by various sounds
The feedforward section; "Most people should not be tuning these parameters manually. Most people should be going to the presets tab... And again, just use a preset... handled, by selecting a preset... presets... Just use the presets." Alright, I guess I'll use a preset for that.🤣 I really enjoyed the video, thanks JB!
The thing is, properly tuning those presets usually involves a lot of studying blackbox logs, and a deep understanding of how FF interacts with the rcCommand coming in from the controller. Unlike P, I, D, and even FF gains, it's not really something you can just "play around with" and expect to have a good feel for what your changes are actually doing.
the first time i flew open pilot the drone just went full power straight up untell i turned it off it fell 300 feet in to a boat in dry dock that was wrapped in plastic.
Canyon update this video to explain Manometer/Heading in PID Tuning? I have calibrated my MAG but still flies the wrong way in RTH. Is there a declination calibration necessary every separate location?
Can you use e.g. Lift Off to learn PIDs and play around with the values? Who else, if not you, would know if the simulator is well optimized in this respect ;).
Hey Josh I’m New to FPV but flown Rc Heli’s & fixed wing for years. So you said use the presets for Rc-link search for your tx brand I’m guessing ? But what if it isn’t listed ? ATM I’m using a futaba because that’s what I have available. Any ideas on what settings I should use ? Thanks
I know its not a pid tuning guide but... when I updated one of my quads to 4.3 I have ran into trouble. When I pitch forward and back, I can hear the motors snapping and twitching and I am not sure why. I can't seem to get rid of this and it did not happen in 4.2. Flew GREAT on 4.2 even on stock filters and tuning. This quad HATES 4.3. Tried resetting to defaults. Which HRZ preset do you use for flysky 2a?
hey JB my radio master zorro was in boot loader mode with the edge tx companion and now it wont turn on or even register a connection into the computer..coerrection it will go into boot loader mode the computer reconize it but i cannot get power to the radio at all and yes its fully charged
My motors sound great when testing under betaflight but when I actually arm with my radio the motors sound gritty or like a goose gargling glass. People say it's because of my pids or pid frequency but I can figure it out.
Hey guys or Joshua I have a question. I'm wanting to get into FPV and building my own drones. I know everyone recommends the RadioMaster TX16s but is the Radiomaster TX12 Ok for my first Radio??? I dont have much money so saving that $100 would help me get started with getting the parts for my first project. WILL THE RADIOMASTER TX12 BE OK FOR MY FIRST RADIO????
Yes. And if you are also planning to upgrade to the tx16s at some point, the Jr bay is the same too. I like the screen location and battery life of the tx12 too. Downsides are no flysky protocol but I'm guessing you are planning to use ELRS anyway, and potentiometer gimbals, but they were plenty smooth for me. Enjoy the new life!
This is a very bad "pid tuning tutorial". You should absolutely watch a more structured tutorial like chris rosser's guide. This is more like an encyclopedia of every option.
Integrated yaw: github.com/betaflight/betaflight/blob/master/docs/IntegratedYaw.md Here is the pull request for absolute control. github.com/betaflight/betaflight/pull/5968 You should also research integrated yaw since absolute control sort of builds on / replaces it.
Both are good. Elrs is a little more complicated but they are working on it. Tbs has always been great but expensive. Recent firmwares have had bugs sadly. I still run tbs. And I love it. Will stick with it.
Joshua when I go from Angle to Horizon or Acro, my throttle drops and when I switch from Horizon or Acro to Angle, my throttle increases. How do I remedy this to the point that the throttle does not change when I change modes? Sidenote - Airmode is not permenantly enabled. I have it activating when I switch out of Angle into Horizon or Acro.
Can someone please help me out, I think my drone on the betaflight configurator have problems with the pid tuning because my quad does not lower down when I throttle down on my controller, the quad just keeps on full throttle upward when It have or without the props on
Finished the whole video, now I know the truth!! That there is going to be a part 2 to the PID tab. >.< Thanks once again JB, have always appreciated your contributions to the hobby, especially helping to dynamically dampen the learning curve when first getting into it. (You see what I did there?) Have been a Patron for a LONG time. =)
This whole series is priceless ..
Thanks for this Mr. Bardwell
please never stop making videos as helpful and thorough as these Betaflight tab walkthroughs! THEY HAVE SAVED MY LIFE!

No doubt. I can’t believe how long this series is on a simple update of FW.
Thanks!

Great detailed vid on the most popular, and probably most important, configurator page. Great job with this entire playlist in fact!

would love to see that
I would definitely watch that!
Great idea!
If it's silent it brokey

finally, something positive to view in my day. I hope one day to finally understand all of this. thank you sir
THANK YOU for this walkthrough, i'm always coming back for parameters i forgot how to tune!
it's exactly what I waited for :) finally to understand whats all this new sliders and options do:) Thank you again :)
great video and a good explanation, now I only have to watch it 20 times more to get it in my head 😅🤣
Man 4.2 was so simple…… 11 part series for 4.3? Daaaammnnnn!
4.3 is simpler from a setup perspective then 4.2
99% of this was the sw in 4.2. I just didn't make a long series about it.
A total masterpiece :) Thanks for all your great work

Love your videos! Should I configure the feed forward with a preset even if I got a bnf?
haha was just wondering about the next video. You the man.
Thanks for sharing Joshua. You always answer my questions. I definitely learn a lot from ya boss. Keep up the awesome work 👊🏻Fpvlife
Brill video as always and thanks JB... deffo learnt a few things.
Having set up quads for beginners, angle limit also effects the rates when in angle mode... Higher angle limit equals higher rates etc.
finally ive been waiting for this one lol
this fixed my drone now thats she how good you are with a completly bricked zorro..lmao
This seemed hard to both summarise while describing in detail, I think you did well 👌
bf 4.4 will be out before 4.3 comes 😋
very good video Joshua, and I would like to ask will ever be your DIY kit for sale?
Yes V2 of the kit is going to be for sale in just a few weeks.
@@JoshuaBardwell That`s great thank you for reply

Does the cell count parameter go up to 8s?
Been looking for latest goggles you tube vids ….. is digital cheep yet? Or. what’s available in 2022. ?
Motor output limit or throttle scale? I'm wondering if there is any actual difference or advantage to one over the other?
Awesomeeeee

It'd turning air mode on and off that's changing your throttle, I bet.
This will be a really good video.

I have beta 4.0.6 and seems very different from yours, can u help? Lol
I want to turn down my throttle and slow down my rates for while i learn to fly
How to use phone for binding?
isn't betaflight 4.3 still faulty?
After I after I put bi-directional on do I have to chance settings in filtering tab ? Anyone ?
hey joshua how do i know if im using 150Hz Crossfire or 50Hz Crossfire. Stupid Question i know
Put LQ in the OSD and if it shows 1:XX then you're at 50 Hz and if it shows 2:XX then you're at 150 Hz.

Hi, could you put the subtitles in Spanish please?
Subtitles are automatically managed by youtube. I don't have any control over them.
1st!!!!🧡❤️💛💙
Its called 'P' 'I' 'D' tuning. not pid tuning.
