Mixing a hard-rock sound (for the time) with classical influence was a killer formula ... one Roxy Music picked up on, now and then, as well. Curved Air was great! Glad to hear they're still around, having survived several incarnations.
VERY VERY GOOD.................................................................................................................................................................................
It's 1972,I'm seventeen years old and working my first backstage gig in Vancouver. The headliner is Deep Purple but on the bill is this band that we've never heard of...Curved Air.So after getting the stage all set up by afternoon, the promoter sends out for some greasy KFC chicken and beer.I'm sitting on the stage with this greasy chicken and it's soundcheck time. This pretty young lady dressed in skintight satin walks by me and says"hello".My chin drops,my groin goes yum but all I can say is"hi".
I saw them on this tour and a lot too. theres a really good track they did called what happens when you blow yourself up that was on maxi single from 1970 that rarely gets heard, which is a shame.
Thanks for uploading this. The first(and probably my favourite track) from the first lp i ever bought(Air Conditioning),unfortunatly not the picture disc though. Not as good as the album version imo but not bad. They've been playing live gigs this year, anyone seen them?
@14jwh : You must be some real music fan.Let me guess.....born after 1985, to young to appreciate even the pop music of the 90's and now entrenched in the crap that's fed you that cannot even pass for anything that resembles creative, progressive art.Remember my friend,it's all been done.
Don't know, but there's something about women lead singers in rock bands that turns me off. All the songs remind me of Heart's Barracuda. I know it's weird. But hey! It's me. Great band though.
saw them last year & they are even better, Paul Sax on violin is superb & Sonja, well you jus gotta love her
IMHO one of the best live albums of the 70's English Progressive scene. Simply Great!
You said that already.
One of most criative proguressive bands ! They were really great.
Love that violin outro...😎

Spot on. Such a great sound and a great band. And this songs outro would definitely influence Roxy Music’s own wonderful Out of The Blue
IT HAPPENED TODAY... AT 52 YEARS AGO, WHEN I' M 20 !!! IT SEEMS SO ATUAL...
A pioneer group of early progressive rock
super her voice and the violin great guitar alltogether unforgetable
I was at the Bristol Gig. Right in front of the lovely Sonia.

いやはや、懐し!~イギリスの進歩的バンドだった、カーヴド・エア~勇ましいソーニャ・クリスティーナのヴォーカルと抒情サウンドの調和、このライヴは最高作!
I took that picture (and the other similar ones) at Bournemouth Winter Gardens in 1976. I was 16, you can guess what I thought of Sonja........
Classic
no, Stewart was in the band , 2 years after.

@14jwh I bet you you have your Justin Bieber tour t-shirt on.Does the 14 in your handle represent your age? Just asking.

If you want another singer you can fall in love with czech out Marta Kubisova - Czech singer who makes even Karen Carpenter look like an amateur.
@robert99brown
Did you ever see Stacia close up when you weren't stoned? Not a pretty sight I can tell you!
why doesn't anyone ever notice they were doing jefferson airplane?
except they practiced
+Alan Burrall I noticed Alan.
Which five JA tunes is this?
And this band of talent has been around this entire time? Overshadowed by the likes of zeppelin, 3 dog night, and all the rest of 'em?
IMHO one of the best live albums of the 70's English Progressive scene. Simply Great!
I agree. 'Nuff said.
