'The Rock Artist's Progress' album, featuring guest vocalist Steve Hogarth, and novel of the same name written by Charles Shorwell, due for release in September 2022 on Cherry Red, iTunes and Amazon Kindle. 'The Rock Artist's Progress' album and concept created by Darryl Way.
Video of Curved Air performing their classic track, "Vivaldi" at Club Citta in Tokyo on 17th January, 2009.
I saw Curved Air do this live back in 1971 and later when Daryll formed Wolf. He introduced it as "we wrote this in the van on the way here, so you probably haven't heard it". The audience, who had been quiet, just went wild. Amazing stuff.
Darryl all the way.
One of the greats. Loved this song and this album back in the 1970's - and still do
Loved this band - and particularly this song - back in the 70's when I was at uni, and still love it now. Would give anything to have been there at this concert.
This is my favourite version of this great track
Heard this for the 1st time on Planet Rock's long player. Absolutely amazing 🎻🎻🎶🎶🎸
I was just going into sixth form when a boyfriend gave me this single...it is still in my attic somewhere I think.........oh..wow.....I used to listen to it over and over and over again......it has to be my favourite track of all time................and I just found it again and they have made it ...better. Fantastic. Thankyou so much for posting this.....I have even found the CDs on Amazon so I can enjoy it all again.......Wow.
So lovable!
And the years pass by and on,what a graet time !!!
I love this arrangement. It's something of a departure from the original but works very well. The improv in the middle seems almost Keltic (4:20) at the beginning, but the note selection (starting at around 4:50) suggests a Japanese theme, then it moves nicely (at around 5:40) into a classical segment. The short metal section(at about 6:50) fits nicely. Daryl Way remains in my mind the premier rock violinist of all time.
Brings back memories ;-)
Absoluetly - i have no words -
my english is bad - but it is perfect ClassicRock
TNX !!!
As Brilliant as he ever was , just superb !!
Para mim, uma das melhores bandas de rock progressivo que começaram nos anos 70. Edilson Galvani, São Paulo, Brasil.
Genius
This is simply stunning. I see Curved Air are on the bill for Weyfest this year. That I'm looking forwards too,
Could be one for fans of the violin - the wonderful Anna Phoebe is on the bill too and I think you've both got Jethro Tull in common.
¡que bien que suenan!!!
Lindisssima performace ... uma impecavel irretocavel mistura do classico com o rock !!
Thanks for posting!
5 stars.
Great❤
Truly superb!! ❤
Brilliant performance - I can remember Daryl practicing this at St. Brandens, Clevedon in 1966, during a youth makes music week.
Thanks for this memory Ashley. Yikes ,'66?
Just fabulous. Enough said.
Juat fabulous. Enough said.
❤
my god are they STILL going?
absolutely fantastic!!!
Available on CD?
Hi Darillo Magillo. are you still in Datchet.
How is your life.
Good concert. Lots of notes to play.
Lark Ascending, by Vaughn Williams? My Father's epitaph music,
I want to go out with 'gimme shelter, by the Stones!
Where is Sonja Kristina?
no lyrics...
It's an instrumental she was probably taking a shit at the time.
This Darryl WAys Solo Band I guess...not Curved Air..
Agreed. How could you have Curved Air without Sonja Kristina.
@@sholimz Sonja Kristina was there just not on this instrumental track.
@@mickrob1Yes, I confirm she was there, but this track needs her vocals badly, as similar to the original.
Excellent musical talent but nothing out of the ordinary, the were ok but no hits. Classical music was for 200 yrs beforehand but today it’s all about hits
@eskimowing This is an instrumental so she's probably gone off for a sandwich :-)
I wish it had been to spend time with me...!
Drums out of sync with violin, you see the consternation in the fiddlers expression and
body language but the drummer couldn't correct
himself, pretty damn arogant, he's overdoing it
in the heavyer sections too, they're not quite musicians, they develop drummers/napoleonic
complex and focus on attention seeking, Copeland
was even worse than this bloke
Rubbish. He's the bands original and best drummer.
That’s just plain nit-picking - sounds like there might be some sour grapes involved too. Why listen to it if you can’t enjoy it ? This is a (wonderful !) live performance, not some doctored damned recording. I love it and have watched and listened to it many times.
