Hey man, I’ve been watching your videos for the past few weeks anytime I’m painting or sketching in my book. I just wanted to say you’re a huge inspiration and comfort to me. I’m 17, I just started my first year of university doing illustration. I’ve been feeling lost and a little scared, but watching your videos and hearing your insight on different things gives me a sense of comfort. I don’t even know you but you feel like a teacher / mentor to me. I admire your skill and how much you care about your community. I cant really express fully in words the impact your videos leave on me, but it’s a big one and I watch your channel almost every day. Keep doing what you’re doing, it really helps younger artists like me hold onto motivation and see that we’re not alone in our struggles
Loving your stories and words of inspiration. Yesterday, I started making some quick sketches using your exercise with pen and marker silhouettes. Speaking of stories/inspiration: Makes me come back to a great childhood memory I have related to my father. My brothers and some times our friends used to play with swords, axes and shields made out of cardboards in our basement, and he decorated each shield with a drawing made from a marker. To him, it took maybe a couple of minutes or so to make a lion or an eagle. But I remember I wanted to be SOOO careful with my shield because the drawing was simply too good to be hacked on, in my opinion. He was perhaps one of my biggest inspiration when it comes to creating a drawing or using other mediums. Think the cardboards are all long gone due to age, but I still got a quick sketch I kinda made him do, which was a portrait of Jeff Buckley. Glad I still got the drawing to this day - it's a fond memory of him.

But what if you’re not interested in drawing objects that are in front of you? For some, if not many of us it’s hard to be inspired, let alone motivated to make art of things that seem so mundane, particularly those of us in the neurodivergent community who happen to have limited interests
I have aspbergers and ADHD, I struggle with that too. I used to force myself to draw everyday objects, but usually just went doing something else halfway through because I got bored to death and couldn't focus anymore. I stopped doing that and started using them as inspiration to draw the things I actually want to draw. For example, if I look at a door handle, I now see it as the mouth of a cool mech, or the texture of a plastic bottle could be the skin texture of an aquatic creature, or it could inspire me to draw a creature that has half-see-through skin. You can use basically every object for that, and a little neurodivergency might even help with letting your mind stray

The shape of said plastic bottle could inspire the body figure, they could settle on those sand dunes that are often found on sand beaches, but they could be higher and more cliff-like for a more interesting setting, maybe they have huts or a city with towers the shape of a plastic bottle, they can have clothes of flowy, veil-like fabric if you use the see-throughiness of the bottle. Once you're at that point, there's a lot more to go from. You could take sea creatures, waves, shells, that long flowy grass on the dunes, the architecture of sea area buildings (danish, for example) as further inspiration. The point is, you only have to light the spark with something, no matter what. If an object, story or person can give you even one idea, even if you decide to scrap it later, it's usually enough to set your creativity going. Don't set yourself any restraints on what an object can or cannot be, and you have enough ideas to fill a whole sketchbook!
Interest is most likely to peak once recognition of subject starts to appear in ur drawing, so I'd recommend getting past ur non interest by doing it very loosely and without care, then once interest sparks, add focus and detail and harder lines to ur sketch ;)
Actually, I believe, you were talking to me about the subject of new ideas and copyright. :) I'll be honest. Although I love your drawing-sessions editions I always say when I have something contrary. In fact, I was also told by another person that all is already created. Subconsciously, I disagreed. Actually, I'm not agreed even now. But over time I admitted that this man might be right. But even today I believe that this is not true. Just because we're unable to see it doesn't mean it's not there. Because I have a theory. According to my theory, one never invents anything. In most cases, one recreates. So in order for one to recreate one must first see. And after a person has seen a certain number of things, and at the same time no new things come to Earth, humanity is limited to what has already been seen. But in order for one to believe that "Everything has already been created" is equivalent to the statement that "Humanity knows everything" which is not true. Man does not even know our own planet. We only know about 30% of the Earth, which 30% is just land, but we have not explored the depths of our planet. Also we only know 0.0000001% of the universe. In that case, how is it possible for us to believe that everything is is already created? I believe there are levels of creations. And we may have covered a certain level of contrivance. But we are completely ignorant of "another possible level of existences". This is of course just my theory which I am happy to share. I love to discuss. Also, I have never been depressed because everything is already created or because I have no creative ideas. These, in my opinion, are weaknesses of a fragile consciousness. I am a practical person. But I admit, I get annoyed at AI made content. AI is unfair competition. And I hope AI never gets copyrighted. If the AI gets banned, I'll be happy. Because the way AI is made now, based on stolen content from Artists, photographers, musicians and writers, AI is basically illegal and AI is under fire from court systems and regulations. Basically, you can hit an AI author if he can't prove how he created an image by presenting stages of development, include sketch, sequential development, etc. And basically he took your idea or someone else's idea and reuse this your materials or materials of another author through his AI. This is what I basically hate about AI.
