Phil Collins' iconic Gretsch drumkit with the concert toms is casually chilling in the background..... Man , how I would love to play that kit for a bit 😅
I always understood that the one drop is the tendency reggae drummers have not to play anything on the first beat of the bar after a fill, and to come back in on two. Thus, the one is dropped. Seems I may have been wrong though!
I just got the Alesis Turbo, and I'd say it's pretty good as a starter kit. (I'm not a beginner, but I'm starting to play the set again, after many years off)
As a retired professor of music, I can truly say she has the perfect personality for teaching. 😀

The trick with reggae is to be unafraid of space and if you’re playing a one drop, forget beat 1 exists.

Dude, I'm not a huge reggae fan. I hate super slows tempo's type of music. I feel that I can feel asleep above the left tom for real at any time 🤣🤣
Wtf....
