My grandad is the funeral director in this episode (as they used a real funeral company) he drives the hearse and is back left carrying the coffin in and out. He died on Christmas Day this year but it feels nice to know there's still parts of him out in the world :)

I agree, but that's why I liked EastEnders back then. Life isn't fair and the show reflected this. If everyone got what they did/didn't deserve, it wouldn't have been as realistic

Bianca gave Grant continuous grief for him sleeping with his wife’s mother. Then just months later she slept with her mother’s husband to be. So she lowered her pride enough to the point she wasn’t much better than Grant. This was when Eastenders was worth watching.
Well, Ross Kemp and Patsy Palmer who played Bianca and Grant and Sid Owen who played Ricky were about to leave Eastenders along with the Di Marco Family apart from beppe, to make way for new exciting and better characters like Mel and Steve, Lisa Fowler, Jamie and Billy Mitchell and the Slater Family, Late 1999 to late 2001 has got to be the best golden era of Eastenders
Bianca was PTSD from Tiffany’s death and her mother’s boyfriend took advantage of her vulnerability.

The scene between Mark and Peggy was so sweet
And Mark sticking up for Grant. Though Phil and Mark hated each other, Grant and Mark seemed to have a lot of mutual respect for one another.
If Louise (Tiffany’s mum) didn’t arrive Tiffany wouldn’t be dead
If grant hadn't treated Tiffany horrible she would still be alive
So sad they killed tiffany off :( I was only 9 going on 10 when this happened but I remember it so well, I love martine mccutcheon, such a great actress :)

True but I get the feeling Grant would've beaten Den into the ground. His last year he didn't seem to care at all who he hurt. Sort of strange character development from the Grant they had in 96/97.
Very Princess Diana-esque in the tone of this episode, right down to the indignant brother delivering a bitterly spirited, albeit hugely justified eulogy.

Worst mistake ever killing off Tiff. Imagine all the storylines she could have been part of in the last 20 years.
It angers me so much especially when you look at how Letitia Dean, Jessie Wallace, Charlie Brooks, Lacey Turner and Patsy Palmer are treated. They can come and go as they want when they want and that was the very reason Matthew Robinson claims he killed Tiffany for as Martine wanted to come and go. 😠
They did the same thing with Ronnie and Roxy. Killed them off, but characters like Tiff and those girls are Iconic to the show.
No wonder they are losing ratings.

Michelle Keegan, Chris Quentin, Martine Mccutcheon, Anna Friel (Brookside) were Soap Superstars and I wonder if the producers give them and ultimatum "You either stay or you leave for good" Martine took a gamble but it didn't pay off unlike Michelle Keegan and Anna Friel who went on to bigger things. Chris Quentin played Brian Tilsley and after Coronation street, he disappear into obscurity which is a shame because he would still be popular as Nick's dad now.
Always hated EastEnders for this one what was they thinking! Martin is amazing actress and is so sweet in real life too ❤️

I remember this .I was 12 years old ,Simon's speech was so deep and I don't blame him for being angry .Grant did treat his sister very badly and never loved her .He took Courtney away from her which was wrong .you could see the hate and anger in Simon's face

Bit harsh. Peggy loved her like a daughter. However you see just what the family are like with Phil saying Simon should be barred for what he said about Grant at the funeral. Nobody says that about a Mitchell. Simon was totally right about her giving and everyone else taking.

@John Gilmore I think Bianca is a hypocrite in the sense that later on she did betray her mum Carol with her boyfriend however Tiffany was her best friend and she was looking out for her. She had to confront Louise with the news she was given. Up until now Bianca has not had an affair with a boyfriend or husband of one of her daughters and that is what makes Louise even worse for what she did to Tiffany.

It's funny Terry is not even feeling emotional. It's like she hasn't even died.
Give it time. I think he eventually experienced a profuse amount of delayed grief, especially when Janine’s purposeful likeness of Tiffany, right down to her stealing her dresses as well as donning her iconic headband. Even though Janine was messing with Terry’s head for nefarious reasons, it was still ultimately enough for him to finally realise and acknowledge that he both missed and loved his dead daughter.
It's called grief.. i felt really sorry for Terry in this scene because you could just tell he wanted to say sorry to her for all the things that had gone on between them...😔

I was 9 when I watched this. I vividly remember Barry signing "she comes and goes". Even then, I knew he was a joke figure and him signing that part at a wake showed how foolish he was. I just searched this video to find it lol

What was annoying was Grant acting hard done by and even blaming Frank. It was an accident but he shouldn't have tormented Tiffany their whole marriage. He didn't know that would happen but he mistreated both wives. Tiffany deserved better, even felt bad for her mother who did do wrong. Also felt bad for Beppe and understandable why he didn't want to go although his brother told him to because he felt hurt. Grant treated her so badly and Beppe was always so kind to her. If she didn't love him she should have said so before.

its a great shame about Tiffany`s death when she got knocked down by Frank Butchers car at the time. Good acting from Martine Machutine and Ross Kemp. They played husband and wife duo Grant and Tiffany Mitchell. Well done to the cast of Eastenders and for the BBC . Only on BBC 1 no other channel will view this soap opera. For her death its a great shame and a sad loss for all in the BBC soap opera. As for the actress herself she said she is going to return to music rather than acting . Sing in musicals on the west end stage. In time for christmas. Maybe for charity of her choise aswell. Who knows what they want to do at the end of the day. Only can guess and try and donate the money towards the charity they want . For a good cause too. Raise lots of money of their choise they have choisen aswell. Well done to the cast of Eastenders .
