16 - Youngest players in history to score in EURO + World Cup:

Such bulls*** how the media twisted Rabiot's words.
First of all the journalist' question to Rabiot before the game didn't even make sense.
But basically in the first part of his answer, Rabiot was just praising Yamal for his qualities, and in the second part he just said "it will be up to us to put pressure on him, not to leave him in comfort and to show him that to be able to play in a Euro final he will have to do much more than what he has done so far."
So he was just saying it's the French team's responsibility to give him a hard time to play, he never put himself above Yamal at all, or denied his qualities whatsoever.
Anyway, the conclusion is the French didn't succeed xD Amazing player mister Yamal, Ballon d'Or in the making

Rabiot was condescending, but not disrespectful. For someone to be disrespectful, the subject of his disrespect must have already earned a good deal of respect. Yamal didn't earn it yet at the time of the interview, but by the end of the match he did. In a time when everybody is easily offended, and the overuse of words like: "epic", "hero", "destroy" and so on, has depleted them from their real meaning, is easy to confuse between condescending and disrespectful. Probably a visit from time to time to the Webster dictionary, or Le Petit Robert for the French, will put things back in order.

He is capable of playing with his qualities at club level as well as in major tournaments, without pressure. Afterwards, it is always complicated to manage a semi-final in a tournament like that, but it will be up to us to put the pressure on him above all, not to let him feel comfortable and to show him that to play in a Euro final, he will have to do much more than what he has done so far."

It's all a waste of time if he doesn't win the cup, this making a 16 year old a hero before achieving anything is such a sign of the times, keep him humble, help him stay humble, it's not good what the media does to these young people...

ent. Chapeau aux parents de Diaz
