Yamal at 16 tracking back on the defensive end against Kylian but Kylian not tracking back for Yamal tells you everything you need to know about this young superstar. He was there whenever his team needed him today brilliant from the youngster.

I know Yamal gets all the headlines but the whole tournament I thought Fabian Ruiz has been such a great conduit in transitioning from defence to attack, whoever makes it to the final they really need to focus on him and Rodri because both of them are absolutely bossing the midfield for Spain.

Him and Olmo are playing absolutely out of their minds... Spain is so good for a reason, and thats their midfield, Rodri, the best Defnsive Mid right now, Fabian great ball control and skills, and Olmo who is the offensive one. That trio is insane

A rare intelligent comment. People only notice the attacking players but it's the unsung players like Fabian Ruiz who make the team tick. I didn't mention Rodri cause he is very well known. But he is also the engine of the team.

Spain have so many great technicians, they're a nightmare match up in midfield. Seen it twice now, Rodri man marked out of the game, but Olmo and Ruiz have the intelligence and ability to drop and progress the play. Don't see how England or Netherlands handle them.

At just 16 I think he might be the most mature player of the tournament. Whenever someone put pressure on him in interviews, he always responded in a very mature way like with the German coach where he responded in an interview and the same for Rabiot where Lamine posted a very intelligent quote. Lamine has been crucial not only for Spain these euros, but also for the entertainment and maturity he’s showed throughout this tournament.

Spain have been the best footballing team at this tournament and once they beat Germany they don't have any rivals who have played better. It is also very attractive football with the emphasis on attacking. I love watching Nico Williams take on players!!!
I think this is the frustration for England fans, is that they would really like them to play this type of football and they have players capable of it. But GS has a completely different model of playing. The clash is between his more defensive style and the fans' desire for a type of play that reflects the current EPL

Lamine Yamal is a gem of a player also because of his mental and emotional maturity in games.

RODRI after the match (tldr: everyone will remember the goal, but his defensive work was outstanding):
“People will hold on to the goal, that sudden starring moment from a kid who is 16. And you have to have enormous quality to be able to do that, and doing it in a semi-final speaks to the player he is, the incredible future he has. Very few players can do that,” Rodri insisted. “But I hold on to his defensive commitment, the support he gave teammates, how he closed off spaces, the oxygen he gave us. How complete his game was … and I told him that personally … chapeau.”

Your vids are great, but I was really disappointed that your free downloadable wall chart for the Euros had mistakes in it- dates were wrong, and the path for winners for matches on certain sides of the bracket werent labelled properly and as such led to confusion filling it in and in some cases incorrect match-ups. Thought I'd mention it as the video content is so good!

Surprised you didn't how in the 2nd half Rodri was allowed both the ball and a lot of space.

Lamine/Mbappe will be the best players of the decade, but the 2024 Player of the year is no other than Rodri. Yet, shockingly, he won't get it just like Busquets never did, often because there were some good reasons (Messi, CR); but now they unashamedly want to sell us Vinicius, fgs...

Yamal is great but its not just him carrying Spain to the final. All the players are showing great football, great teamwork and no one is acting like a Diva or thinking he is better than his team mates.

How does France get off thinking they're going to play a 4-3-3 without having their wingers drop in to defend against a team with the most dynamic wingers in the tournament? Absolutely absurd. I just can't get my mind around it.

@FourFourTwo I wonder what your thoughts are on Muani getting subbed out. Felt to me like France was losing a "target player" (at least that what we'd call him in German, that is: someone who is an aerial threat) for players that wouldn't be able to fill that role. Giroud came in late to fill that void, but for about 20 minutes France didn't have a clear path towards scoring a goal, at least not similar to what you outlined for their only one in the game (or so it seemed to my amateurish eye).

Amazingly good thanks. I’m watching this on Friday to see what thoughts arise re England Spain.
One, they are up against good tacticians. Two, there is a way of choking Rodri. And three, Spain have a future ballon d’or in Yamal. He’s gonna give someone the runaround on Sunday, who will it be?
