"Perfect" and cleaned up/edited is nothing like hearing/watching something so pure and seemingly straight from the soul. A person can't sing like that without it coming straight from their "being".
I agree with you in a way, his acoustic stuff was simply mindblowing. I think though, maybe he wanted a bigger crowd in on his music, and wanted to add more instruments into that and still give that same feel he did in previous albums. which he did very very well

He seems a little reluctant in this video to perform an acoustic song but that's all I want to listen to because he's so incredible! While I happily purchase the studio albums, the ones that I listen to over and over like an obsessed freak are the live performances because they make me feel so euphoric! Flawless!!
You have to bare in mind that C&C is Dallas' solo project. It's whatever he's writing that he feels is good enough for people to hear, band or no band; Its what he's writing on his own. Folk wasn't his aim; producing songs written by himself was.
@TheDillsterr i loved it. it doesn't really matter when it's dallas. he's making music for himself. and if people like it, they'll buy it. people bought it soo... not trying to fight or anything, just saying.
That's true but Alexisonfire is broken up now because Dallas left solely to focus on City and Colour which means it is not just a side project anymore. He also makes his living off of this so it's likely that he tries to make the music a little more appealing to a wider audience so he can make some more money. But I don't know that for sure and if he does, it's understandable.
no sorry man, if you dig deep in the comments i'm pretty sure i remember someone mentioning the make and model but my best guess would be a martin or a gibson he really likes those
@eahs07 Yeah I know a lot of people that liked it but I know a good amount of people who don't too so I guess it's pretty subjective. If you like it dude that's cool and I respect that. I never could get into this album though.
I love Dallas Green and all, but I can't help but wonder if all that glass is strategically broken the way it is... or if they brought Dallas Green to some shitty building and threatened his life unless he played a song. More specifically a, "acoustic song."
@gfrancoramos It just ticks me off that he had the audacity to say that. Little hell would be an infinitely better CD if it were acoustic like the 2 previous C&C albums.
Philip Saucier You just proved my guitar teacher right...he said a lot of times experienced guitar players forget what it was like to be a beginner and not really know how to do the things that they now take for granted. You give good advice though, and that is the ultimate goal...to one day be able to just use my eyes and ears to figure out things like this without having to ask. Thanks.
He is literally the only person I know that sounds better live then In studio
There is a wide variety of music out there, you should listen to more.
Listen to more music bud
this guy is just the best singer the world has ever seen and underrated
My heart is full...I can relate on SO many levels
He's got such an awesome aesthetic, I dig it so much.
the voice this man has is incredible. just no other words to explain it, his voice is so beautiful.
"Perfect" and cleaned up/edited is nothing like hearing/watching something so pure and seemingly straight from the soul. A person can't sing like that without it coming straight from their "being".
I always get fascinated with the amount of precious guitars this man owns
I find this to be exquisite and beautiful song. It made me feel alive. I've never heard of city and colour before
Greatest artist ever.He is unlike all the rest.
this dude is crazy sick on the acoustic guitar. love it.
He almost sounds a little irritable about the whole thing lol ... guy inspires the fuck outta me
Its kind of amazing to have seen his transformation as both an artist and a person, in terms of style and writing.
I agree with you in a way, his acoustic stuff was simply mindblowing. I think though, maybe he wanted a bigger crowd in on his music, and wanted to add more instruments into that and still give that same feel he did in previous albums. which he did very very well
music is saved

Such an awesome artist!
over 10,000 views and not one dislike... Dallas Green is a beast

I think this is my favourite rendition.
So lovely
Awesome acoustics !!
"Everybody wants an acoustic song" EVEN ME
dallas you're so darn handsomeeee!
I hated the new album, but I've learnt to love it now, you just have to give it a few listens.

I LOVE HIM SO MUCH
The acoustics on this are amazing! It's a really clear recording too, brilliant video :)
Sooo good.

It sounds to me that he is a little sick here. YET he still pulls it off. You have to respect this man! One talented son of a gun.
That's an understatement.
Gorgeous

Excellent.
Great song
Talent...It's not just for breakfast anymore
I could live or die to this and I would be happy .

Fucking excellent.
smashing venue and acoustics mate. no pun intended.

anyone know what kind of gutiar he's playing? custom martin oo-12 fret?
Ooooops wonder who disliked this, actually love this though
@TheDillsterr i can understand why you wouldn't like it though. it was a huge change.

Direi proprio di si!
👌

So much better than the original

the windows cant even handle the vocals...
♓
Everybody wants an acoustic..
@plakkert Yeah I can respect that. I still like the Bring Me Your Love and Sometimes format though :/
I'm wondering if it's possible they're like decal style stickers that look like broken glass? Or maybe you're right haha
Good good good
Dallas could be butt ugly and he'd still be handsome cuz his talent supersedes everything!
Acarlay 7 But Dallas is a stud.
@eahs07 true that but he can't expect people to like it =/
its weird seeing him not play his martin
@TheDillsterr easy, killer. it's his album. he can do what he wants.
its a breedlove.
a model from the revival series
Watched this video a hundred times just noticed the pickup today.
@gfrancoramos It just ticks me off that he had the audacity to say that. Little hell would be an infinitely better CD if it were acoustic like the 2 previous C&C albums.
@TheDillsterr bad day, ah?
s'alright.
The broken windows
Jesus Loves You
@eahs07 Idk I just think he used way too many instruments in it and it kinda lost the folk feel.
Anybody know what chords he's playing?
Am
G Am F

I personally feel City and Colour as a whole has expanded with the last album. I love Sometimes, though.
the people outside sure didn't like his music... they were too busy throwing rocks they forgot about the dislike button
*****!
Doesn’t seem real too good !
That's just dumb.
I LOVE HIM SO MUCH
