at 1:22 if you put the cardboard down infront of the splash shield , No oil will get on the splashshield ,instead of putting just the bottom of the cardbaord ONTO the splash shield. In otherwords ....lift cardboard up slightly & allow bottom of cardboard to lower so that its in front of the S.S. not on top of the S.S.
Thanks for the video. I have a 2019 1.6L and all of the parts are in the same place. Didn't even need to remove the skid plate or use jack/stands. I got a pair of ramps and went to work. Lower angle, but a lot less work trying to set it up. If you run a decarbonizer, ATS or some other brand prior to the change, make sure to wear gloves. That oil is HOT when it hits your hand. Sounds dumb, but it is easy to rush and forget until the heat wakes you up. Haha
Hi, great instructional video. I'm gonna try this on my 2004 Hyundai accent today. But i only have one jack. So i have questions: How many jacks do i actually need, in the video have you used 4? I can borrow some. And is the car meant to be level or could i drive it up some sorta home made ramp or bricks. Also, do i just go to a car parts shop and ask for one of those little washers off the bolt? As i'll need to buy it before i start the job. Will they usually know and have them available? Thank you so much. Hope you can reply.
Hello! For this vehicle, it is recommended to drain the engine oil in leveled position. The drain bolt is located at the front of the engine and the oil pan is in flat angle. If you drain the engine oil with the front end only being lifted, you might not be able to drain all of the fluid because of the design of the oil pan. One jack should do the job. Heres how you can do it. 1. Lift one side of the car, particularly right side. 2. Put one axle stands for safety. 3. Put a drain pan underneath the engine 4. Loosen the drain bolt and let it drain 5. Remove the oil filter 6. While draining, jack up the vehicle, remove the jack stands and lower the vehicle. Be sure to check the drain pan when lowering the vehicle. - Here, you lower the vehicle to get the most of the fluid out of the oil pan. As the vehicle gets leveled, the oil drains faster. 7. When it stops draining, lift up the car and put some axle stands. Continue the process of changing the engine oil. In the video, I used 4 jack stands because I have other jobs to with the vehicle. If I were to change an engine oil only, I would only use one and do what I listed there. Those little washers are called aluminum washer gasket. Yes, they are usually available. Have those washers first before you do the job. This washers seals the drain bolt upon tightening. Its recommended to change those washer everytime you change your engine oil to prevent any potential leaks. Hope this helps. If you have any further question, please don't hesitate to comment. I will always gladly answer to help you. Thank you very much and take care.
Potentially yes. Regardless of the brand of engine oil, as long as those standards, specifications and viscosity rate is matched with the requirements, it is absolutely fine to use.
I guess it's better to check your owner's manual for your engine oil requirements. If it only indicates 10w-40 without the specific ratings, then it's fine to use what you are currently using and switching to the oil that your mechanic has advised is optional. If it has ratings on it, then it is better to follow it since that would indicate as a minimum requirement for it. The oil that your mechanic has recommended to you has better protection properties, which is good for your engine, turbo and EGR.
That engine oil is expensive but delivers an excellent performance. Liqui Moly is a reputable brand, can't go wrong with it. I've once tried a different expensive brand "Amsoil" and the engine felt so smooth and light.
Hi i have a 2019 Accent 1.4 and I have a question about the transmission, my car currently has 53,000 kilometers and I'm planning on getting the transmission fluid changed at 55,000, is the transmission filter replaceable? If it is what is it's part number, I couldn't find anything about it in the owner's manual. Thanks.

The part number for the transmission filter is 46321-2F000. Before buying it right away, please have it check at your nearest Hyundai auto dealership to make sure that you have the right code and buy the correct part for your car. These parts might have some differences when it comes to part number due to classification of region. Also, owner's manual only provides the basic knowledge about maintenance and other information. When it comes to technical aspects like this, you can find it on the internet or contact your nearest Hyundai dealership. I hope this helps! Thank you and take care.
@@DraftProject thank you so much, i will ask the dealership. although i was checking rhe Hyundai forums and only saw someone say it's not a serviceable part
You're welcome. I also tried to check and it appears that most of them only change the transmission fluid, not the filter which could be true. I haven't done that job before in a Hyundai Accent, so I'm not really sure about it. I agree that the best way is to consult at your nearest dealership. By the way, the Hyundai Accent in the video is not mine, so I don't have that much access to that vehicle. Thank you!
Hi,why use different oil filter in this oil change ? I have a 2014 Accent with 1.4 Kappa engine, and i use oil filter last coming out of your car in my engine,it's Mann W7023,and kappa engine requires 3.8 litre oil according to handbook. So I use 4 litre Liqui Moly Molygen 5W-30 oil every maintenance.
The owner of this vehicle bought the oil filter at the dealership and they only offered him that specific oil filter, for a reason that they don't have the same oil filter anymore. Thank you very much for the information.
