Started the carnivore diet on May 28, 2024. I have stage four kidney disease. I am a type two diabetic high blood pressure high cholesterol. I just had surgery for breast cancer. Since I’ve started carnivore, my blood pressure has gone down. I stopped taking one of my insulin and reduce the other one. My sugars have been 100% within range. A1c went down a few points and my creatinine went down from 12,700 points to 4000 and just five weeks of carnivore. I lost 28 pounds ..Can’t wait to see what it does in September when I have that blood work done.

Don't even say what you do and have Dr eliminate some meds from your prescription list so the pharmacy doesn't deliver...stop any home pharmacy deliveries too if you got them. Turns out that the pharmacy is obligated to restock any meds from customers that are not picked up within 7 days...if you don't need them don't pick those up....

I put them on yesterday to go out and I made a gasp and my wife thought something was wrong. It was like 3 to 4 inches where there wasn’t before I was blown away. It was like somebody switch pants on me just to screw with me. I’m so thankful I saw your show with Joe Rogan. Sometimes when I’m leaving the gym I see people checking me out - then they see my face and see that I’m actually a little old lady. It’s pretty funny. I’m healthy, no meds, I exercise every day doing Pilates or working out at the gym. I eat lots of red meat ( mostly ground beef) chicken, fish, eggs, and a bit of dairy. I LOVE this way of eating. @@totallyrufus you don't have to go full carnivore, at least not right away. Go ketovore first. For example, add a salad once a day, only lettuce, cucumber and vinegar, eat chicken sometimes, fish, mix it up, just always keep the carbs under 20 grams. Gradually transition to stricter carnivore. You might not even feel like you have to.

    • @tenmillionvolts

Just try low carb to start with. I started by having half the carbs. If I wanted potatoes, I'd have half the usual and top up with more protein and fat. Also, add spices. Because they are strong, you need small amounts to make food more exciting. I had to start this way due to addiction. If I picked up two jars of something in the supermarket, the lower carb version is the one I chose. Ease into it and keep the flavour at a level you can handle. Keto might be best for you. Find what you enjoy. No doubt the lowering of carbs is the most important thing. I felt better in a week just lowering carbs.

Yes! I'm 48 at 139 looking to get to 115. Only 1 week in definitely noticing my belly and legs slimming down I don't feel bloated, I feel satiated and good. I have been a fasting , vegetarian /vegan super health conscious active person etc. yet none of this has helped my insulin resistance or changed my hormonal weight gain, I'm really hoping this is the ticket!

    • @carnivoreakita

@cassandrablissness i hope this will be a smooth ride to good health for you. It's been 18 months since I started carnivore and my weight dropped to 106 from 140. I don't want to get much lower than that. Im doing low carb now where I eat mostly meat, but add chocolate products. I have a super active lifestyle and that's probably how the sugar isn't causing me to gain weight. I think the 15 months on super strict carnivore healed my body systems so much that I can eat a moderate carnivore diet with other food and continue to thrive at 49 years old. I weigh myself every day so I know when to reduce the carbs and eat mainly meat again. My last blood test/cac scan was 3 months ago. It showed my arteries are squeaky clean and my cholesterol numbers would even make my mainstream doctor happy.

I'm a 4 year carnivore and menopause was a breeze! As many of the videos focus on men, here's a few things I learned on the way. After 50 years of being conditioned to watch what I ate and that fat was bad, I seriously underate when I started and lost way too much weight (I was an OK weight to begin with!). Then I wasn't eating enough fat. Then I got leg cramps because my electrolyte balance was off. OMAD didn't work for me, I was eating too much in one sitting, which was uncomfortable and almost certainly lead to gluconeogenesis. It was a process of experimentation and finding more carnivore women out there and not men as we ARE different in how we respond, especially with regards to fasting.
Now I eat twice a day, 95% carnivore, really fatty meat (my butcher makes me 70:30 meat:fat mince in bulk so it works out cheaper than the supermarket), butter, eggs and 'condiments' such as avocado, nuts and home made sauerkraut. I do eat nose to tail, so when I slow cook things like beef cheeks, I'll reduce the liquid to a thick sauce and have pumpkin mash made with huge amounts of butter to 'soak' up that amazing liquid goodness. I eat every cut of meat (ruminant animals only, many beef) and experiment with different ways of cooking it. This is really fun when you look at it as a lifestyle, not a 'diet'.
This isn't about sticking religiously to a diet, this is about learning to eat intuitively. It's an amazing ride and my body and blood tests show it really is the proper human diet. Once your hubby understanding he can eat as much meat, butter and eggs as he likes and still get a 6 pack, he'lll get on board..........
      Enjoy x

@beastbombshell3589 Calories are a measure of energy in a lab, not how your body uses food. Once you eliminate carb cravings, your body will start to heal and relearn the chemical signals for satiety and hunger. Eat until you're full, then stop. No counting calories. When eating meat, it's easy to stop when you're full, that's why I wrote that you can eat as much as you like. It's impossible to do that when eating carbs. I eat way more now (on a 'calorie' basis) than I did before, yet have to force myself to eat sometimes so I don't lose any more weight.

Thanks for the question. I guess at some level certain things bothered me at one point or another. I am over a year into it at this point. Looking back, those first several weeks were rough for a few reasons. Firstly, you're reducing your options by 90%. I eat animal based foods; anything from animals is an option. I started with eliminating everything but meat. I did that for around a month. Once I felt like my system was clear of oxylates and all the rest, I added eggs, some dairy, fish, etc. I found that pork was not good for me. I didn't feel well after eating it and it was never satisfying. I guess my mindset changed very quickly regarding what I viewed as real food. 90 days into it and I felt super human. And now, I cannot imagine going back to eating how I did before. I eat at least 1.5 lbs of beef a day, sometimes 2 lbs. I think over time my taste buds changed so that a very simple seasoning like salt really became what I craved. I use to cook all types of foods, Mediterranean and the like. I loved flavors and it really was about the experience of the food. But... What I learned, for me personally, I had to remove carbs completely out of the picture. Once I became fat adapted, meaning my body switched fuel sources, my entire life changed from that point forward. It's tough to get started on this journey, I think everyone who reads this struggled with something up front. But what I will tell you, it is worth it. Figure out what your 'why' is. What's driving you to do this? What are you wanting to change about yourself? For me, I wanted to be the best version of myself. I believe without any doubt that this is how I am going to achieve that. Listen to your body. The longer you do this the more you'll know what is and is not working. Commit to 90 days. That will be where you see huge changes in your entire self, physically, mentally and emotionally. I can't say enough about Dr Chaffee, Dr Berry and a few others. Listening to what they have to say and putting it to a test is worth the rest of your life. I promise. All the best to you for whatever journey you're on!

For many years of my 80 years, I have starved on low car, low fat diets like WW. Sometimes, the weight would come off, but I was miserable and depended on will. Plus, the weight always returned. It's been a lifelong battle, until 2021 when I did Keto. Lost 50 lbs.
I'd love to say I've stuck with it, but my sugar addiction is strong. The big difference is if I see the scale start to move up, I can go carnivore for a month and it will back off. I know I should devote the rest of my life...whatever I have left, to being a carnivore. But for the first time ever, I feel in control. My health is good. I can eat what I want. That's what scares me.
I do not want to lose anymore weight. I was keto for a bit over 3 months and am moving towards carnivore. My reasons are for my autoimmune disorders. However in the 3 in a half months on keto I went from size 9 sometimes 11 jeans and I am now in 5/3.Size 3 is to small.
I am 5 foot and now weight 110.
I work in a restaurant so the tables I wait on all day everyday say " are you losing weight ".
My friends and co workers are saying that I am getting so tiny I look like a kid.My mom is convinced I am starving myself.
I am not skin and bone.I have gotten my curvy figure back that I had in high school. I honestly do not want to lose anymore weight and am sick of people making such a big deal about my weight loss.
So if I do straight carnivore I'm afraid I'll drop to 80 pounds

My inflammation markers have dropped significantly. No plans to reintroduce carbs.

At 68 one thing I've learned in life is transition slowly to any big changes you make in life. Mainly get rid of crackers, bread, potatoes, beans, rice, pasta. Use only whole foods. Increase your meat until fruits and vegetables are like condiments. For me that is where I stay. Don't be afraid of fat. I put lots of butter on my cooked vegetables, that's why they are like condiments. As your brain clears and you feel better you will know what works for you. As a diabetic person I tested my blood a couple of times a day at first to make sure I wasn't getting too low on my blood sugar and adjusted my meds/ supplements accordingly.

      Not trying to be that guy but;
Your autoimmune disorder is still there. It won't ever go away. What you mean is you have no symptoms and don't need medication to manage them as they are now non-existant.
Minor nit pick admittedly but should be said. If you were to resume your old diet, those symptoms would flare up again.
Not taking away anything that you said, nor am I trying to downplay your results. Happy for you. Just adding for clarity.
I myself do not have any autoimmune disorders, that I know of, but I do know suffering. And while life is suffering, we should at least get to choose some of it.

First fat makes your satiated so you don't get cravings.
Second you're less likely to have diarrhea due to excess protein.
      Conclusion: more fats

My mother is actually the person who has been suggesting this diet/lifetyle for months now. She had severe Rheumatoid arthritis prior to switching to carnivore despite her doctors suggestions.. Her arthritis is GONE. When she has a little food outside of the carnivore spectrum she has major flare-ups! Goes to show that this "diet" truly works wonders! Today I had a visit with my cardiologist who is totally against low carb diets. I didn't tell her I was second day on carnivore! She was telling me what to eat and it was pretty much everything not carnivore diet related. I have done my due diligence and have made a deal with myself to eat carnivore for at least three months. I know I'll feel better. I haven't felt good for years and all the doctors have done is throw pills down my throat. I'm exhausted from that type of medical treatment. I'm ready to be free.

I've been trying this for about 3 months now. For 5 Weeks, I was very strickt about it loosing about 20 pounds. Then I started checking with puting back like a cookie here or a glas of milk there and I was able to stay around the weight I was at the moment without the feeling of missing out on anything. BUT I realized, that the more I've done only the little snacks the craving came back. So now I'm back to carnivore with one cheat a week and again over the last 4 weeks, I've lost another 11 pounds.
Just comparing the pure carvinore with the cheat day carnivore or the 2to1 version shows me, how strongly we are influenced by all those foods most people and doctors want us to eat.
Don't listen to any of them. Just try it for yourself. just like I and many others did. See for youself and find you way to a better life.

I'm a cheat. I started an atkins low carb diet 30 years ago and allow myself 12 carbs per day. Basically a carnivor diet with two half cup servings of low carb vegetables with my dinner. At 73 I feel pretty good and remain active and I put that down to the low carb diet I follow. I see nothing wrong with a complete carnivore diet but I do enjoy the variety of the occasional low carb vegetables just for eating pleasure. Hopefully that small amount of carbs has little to no unhealthy side effects. Atkins did a lot of studies 40+years ago on the benefits of eating meats, seafoods and fats and very low carbs and over the years more and more of his suggestions have been proven to be correct. The less plant material we eat the better for us.

It took us over twelve years to conceive our first kid and five more to conceive or second. I wonder if the diet made us more fertile? My husband is positive that carnivore had something to do with it.
My husband is still doing carnivore, but about two months into this pregnancy, my meat aversion got so bad I just couldn’t continue. I plan to go back once I give birth, but right now I can’t even stand the thought of steak, which I was eating every day before. At first I subsisted on bacon and eggs and some shrimp as well as cheese fried in butter, then I added some avocado, and then started making tuna salad with the highest quality mayo I could find and adding a few veggies like celery and onion.
Then, I basically just gave in and started eating everything again, including crap like cereal. 😳

A lot of pain, fatigue and over 100 other symptoms. I’ve tried so much to feel better to no avail. The latest was a fruit diet. I did notice a dramatic improvement in inflammation but that’s about it. Never had acid reflux in my life until the fruit diet. I started incorporating other foods back into my diet and noticed every time I eat beef now my urine smells sweet. I couldn’t place it at first but then when trying to info about it people were asking why their urine smelled like popcorn. I guess that’s a good comparison. Doesn’t happen with chicken just beef. on zero carb for like a decade, my advice, enjoy meat. Sometimes im on a pork bender, sometimes beef, chicken is basically a snack food for the gym. The few times I had carbs were during travel or a stack-specific thing for a cycle, in all cases back to carnivore without a hitch. Like I feel like shit when I eat carbs, gut distention looks like shit at the gym and the stamina hit is notable. If you notice gym issues, eat more fat. I get injured before I notice gym fatigue on carnivore, keto wasn't bad but carnivore is king for low/zero carb imo.

I jumped on this lifestyle and with 5 weeks i dropped a total of 15 lbs. However, im not yet 100% carni. I like my bourbon and hazy ipas. I have started to cut back on the beers for dinner and trying to drink water with dinner and have my drink after as dessert. On the weekends i have small cheats maybe for dinner or whatever may be going on but i still try to keep it a majority meat. I have been adding in now some light exercise. The hardest part for that is being a truck driver is having the time. Too early up in the morning and im falling asleep behind the wheel. I have a sleep study completed and awaiting my doc to get me results l, if i have sleep apnea and the cpap is my cure, then i might be able to make morning work.
This is something i can stick to and im inspired by everyone's anecdotal evidence on how this works for them. I hope some long term studies come out in support of this lifestyle. I know, i know, wishful thinking.

I feel so good and I’ve never had any heart issues or anything really. I’m 71. Now I’m worried. I want to do this but I’m worried it will push my cholesterol even higher.
