  • Dental implants are a standard method of replacing the missing teeth in the jaws which are fixed
    surgically into the jawbone and left in place so that the implant fuses with the bone by a process
    called Osseo integration. The implant acts a root of the missing tooth onto which an artificial crown is fixed so that it could hold a bridge in place. Dental implants are made up of titanium metal which allows good integration between the implant and the bone. Implants could be used either to replace a single tooth or a bridge of multiple teeth. Have a success rate of 98%. The person undergoing the implants should have good oral hygiene, healthy gums, good bone support.
    Implants are a permanent prosthesis and hence feels like a natural teeth and improves the
    appearance Improve speech as it allows you to speak comfortably without any risk. Very comfortable as they get integrated into the bone and fit well. Good chewing possible as implants are almost like natural teeth. Implants restore the facial looks and give a natural smile
    Implants are very durable and last long for many years and also lifetime if maintained well. Dental implants are fixed and hence there is no problem of removing it every time. Very convenient. Do not depend on other teeth for support. Prevent bone height loss.
    A dental bridge is a fixed prosthesis which fills the gap in between 2 or 3 teeth. A bridge involves a the two teeth adjacent to the missing space which acts as abutment tooth in
    order to support the replaced false tooth called as pontic which is made up of gold, porcelain or
    metal. A bridge could be supported by implants or natural teeth. Allowing chewing the food and improving speech. The smile of the patient would be restored. Replacement of tooth in the missing space would always protect the shape of your face and keep the teeth in their normal positions. Allow the forces during chewing, biting to be generally distributed to all the teeth
    Usually if there is a missing space, teeth tend to drift into that, replacing with a bridge would avoid that.

    It's very nice to hear a doctor's opinion on something being better than the other. Thank you.
    Today I went to a dentist who told me there is not enough space in between my central & lateral incisor for a dental implant and advised me to do a bridge implant.
    But my other teeth are just fine. I'm not sure what to do.

      Bridge kia apne?

    • @SovonHalder
      @SovonHalder 3 года назад +1

      @@ishitabose-5993 Nope. I went to few other consultants and almost all of them advised me to stay natural and not do any implants or bridge. They said in the long run it will be worth it. Turned out I had a serious issue with my bite as well and the callous doctors at the first dental clinic didn't advise me properly as they were more into convincing me to take the procedure that was easy for them to perform in-house. Please go to multiple doctors for consultation, ALWAYS. Anyways, after many consultations I decided to go with orthodontic treatment. They removed 2 of my teeth from bottom jaw to fix overcrowding and improper bite in February. I've been wearing braces since then and the gap it's 60% closed so far. Just 3 weeks ago they removed my actual problematic teeth from upper jaw and gave me a new set of braces. So in summary, instead of implant or bridging that takes less than a month, I'm taking 18 months long orthodontic treatment that is completely natural.

    Bridge is good for the Ppl who have sensitive gums
    Implant for strong gums' ppl, but it seems risky.. Who knows when the gums become weak and... then tension problem pain..

    Hello
    , I recently had a 3 unit
    bridge on lower incissors , I was missing one congentially . My dentist did root canals on my two abutment teeths which were perfectly fine(without any cavity) before cutting them and installing bridge . But I am reading online that it's not compulsary to do . So I am wondering why did he did that , Are there some advantages of it if we do the RCT before ? or did he just do it to make some money ? I am really feeling bad knowing I have destroyed my other fine teeths as well. Would RCT treated teeth cause problem in future ?

    • @so-nali
      @so-nali 2 года назад +1

      Not sure why he did rct cuz it's only done when there are cavities he prolly wanted to get more money rct on 2 teeth + bridges = more money ,my dentist recommended extraction with bridges ,i am going to get consultant with other dentist also before doing anything irreversible on my tooth

    • @abhisheksharma-mi7dq
      @abhisheksharma-mi7dq 2 года назад

      @@so-nali yeah can't do anything about it now , but there are lot of dentists out there which recommends this or give you an option to do it because , it prevents you from pain or sensitivity under bridge which could occur in future as well as helps to avoid infection in the tooth. In my case I wasn't given a choice , He just went with the procedure . So I don't know what would've been best for me , I sort of regret it now . But If you are plannig to have a bridge yourself have multiple options and choose what's best for you

    • @floydcage2494
      @floydcage2494 2 года назад

      Sometimes when your teeth have to be shaved down a lot for crowns, you may end having severe teeth sensitivity and with that it can make it painful for you to eat, chew, or even brush that tooth, but it don't typically need to be root canaled unless you have decay that was getting very close to the tooth's nerves which wasn't the case for you so the only benefit of you having the root canal done is not having to worry about pain

Once rct is done that tooth is dead for ever. That rct life is also around 10 years average. I got my rct for second molar about 10 years back in2012.
