It shouldn't surprise anyone that a wrestler named Darby Allin decided to jump through plate glass. I mean, he named himself after two of the craziest punk rockers who ever lived. Darby Crash was famous for, at least once, breaking a beer bottle on his head and using the broken glass to cut his chest. GG Allin was reported to have ripped open beer cans and used the jagged metal to cut himself, and once dove off stage through a glass window and then came back through the front door, got back on stage, and kept playing. Darby Allin almost had to go through glass at least once, just to live up to his name.
It used to mean something because it was rarely done. Mankind falling off the cage was great because it was never done before in WWE and every fan always wondered "what if someone falls from the top"... and Mankind did, so it like seeing a guys life flash before your eyes in slow motion for the fans. Now it happens everywhere and every week...and they have to set everything up and choreograph the spot and everyone knows it's coming and it's just anticlimactic and feels like an extreme jackass stunt for the sake of having an extreme jackass stunt. I agree with your part about going everywhere and the lady getting glass on her, that could have been bad and could have caused an eye injury. Buuuuuuut.... that was Tempered safety glass. Its designed to shatter into tiny pieces so it doesnt cut deeply or badly iniure someone. Its the same glass they use in shower doors (my guess is it was a shower door) and car windows. At least next time, if AEW ever does another spot using glass, they could do it further away from the crowd so no fans are at risk of being cut. That was unsafe for everyone involved.
They had the easiest story to tell with that match, two heels tying to ruin the legends final match. Instead, they went for the "hardcore" crap, something Sting was never known for in his career anyway. Now instead of talking about Sting's great sendoff, the glass spots overshadowed all of that.
They may have taken the necessary precautions before the spot, but pieces of glass still went everywhere in the ground, that's unacceptable. You never know where the glass is going to end up, it could have gone directly in the eye of the lady at ringside.
I don't think it was a real glass, it was a shattered glass, there was no big peace of glass after darby hit the glass. Glass converted into thousand of peaces as soon as darby hit the glass. It was not the real real glass, all 3 sheets were shattered glass
It’s been all confirmed it was real glass, they took extra time to practice it earlier in the day with a stunt coordinator and had two doctors ringside ready to check him after the spot, also implied by the cuts on his back it was real glass, and had a “plan B” in case Darby cut himself too much and had to adjust the conclusion of the match. Darby Allin is now and always will be nothing more than a Jeff Hardy wannabe. In fact, Darby should go and ask Jeff how badly he hurts just getting out of bed these days and realise why what he is doing is even more reckless. I like AEW and I’m glad there’s another legit wrestling company for competition and more opportunities, but you can’t say that AEW behind the scenes, and with Tony Khan it is a bit messy, and that’s mainly because I think Tony Khan is too big of a fan of these guys and lets them do things they shouldn’t do. Tony isn’t authoritative. I’m not a big fan of Khan
@@badjoker23i think old jim is bitter becsuse a kid with money and no wrestling experiemce has the number 2 promition in america that at the beggining was killing the big boys.
I guess we can all thank Jack Perry for the famous “real glass” segment. I swear the more they do this, the more right CM Punk was about AEW. 🤦🏽♂️
Darbys gonna top this before his careers over
Of course he will......and I'm nervous for it lol
oh yeah. he is amazing. what a entertainer
darby allin is my favorite wrestler in aew but i completely agree this was not a good look for the company and as much as i like the extreme spots darby allin does this should never be allowed
That dude crazy as hell and it’s awesome but I’m afraid he’s gonna do something one day and won’t be able to go again
At least next time, if AEW ever does another spot using glass, they could do it further away from the crowd so no fans are at risk of being cut. That was unsafe for everyone involved.
To separate ya from rest of the wrestlers
Idk. Being the guy that almost kills himself all the time is just not it to me..
They had the easiest story to tell with that match, two heels tying to ruin the legends final match. Instead, they went for the "hardcore" crap, something Sting was never known for in his career anyway. Now instead of talking about Sting's great sendoff, the glass spots overshadowed all of that.
Yep , i agree
It's the same thing. The only difference is that you're a WWE fanboy and will defend the WWE spots. But they are no difference.
WWE fanboy for life baby

@@terryalan4590 great insult !
It's call entertainment. I'm sure this stuff is some how secured with everyone else doesn't know bout it.
Well of course it’s still secured, they had doctors ready on the floor to check him for the bump, but I still don’t think it should’ve been real glass
Some people call dog fighting "entertainment."
They may have taken the necessary precautions before the spot, but pieces of glass still went everywhere in the ground, that's unacceptable. You never know where the glass is going to end up, it could have gone directly in the eye of the lady at ringside.
@@rootpower8664 I’m glad some understand
I don't think it was a real glass, it was a shattered glass, there was no big peace of glass after darby hit the glass.
Glass converted into thousand of peaces as soon as darby hit the glass.
It was not the real real glass, all 3 sheets were shattered glass
It’s been all confirmed it was real glass, they took extra time to practice it earlier in the day with a stunt coordinator and had two doctors ringside ready to check him after the spot, also implied by the cuts on his back it was real glass, and had a “plan B” in case Darby cut himself too much and had to adjust the conclusion of the match. Everyone knew it was gonna happen

Just wannabe jeff hardy
He’s a joke. He can’t wrestle/has no character so he just jumps off things.
I wouldn't know, reading online he seemed like people thought he was pretty good
Darby doesn't give a damn about what happens to his body, he'll die before he ever considers being safe, and if that's the way he wants to live, let him live it then. These "Dumb Spot" videos do absolutely nothing

Darby Allin is now and always will be nothing more than a Jeff Hardy wannabe. In fact, Darby should go and ask Jeff how badly he hurts just getting out of bed these days and realise why what he is doing is even more reckless.
I don't care how many ladders he jumps off, glass panes, tables or chairs he goes through, Darby Allin WILL NEVER be a credible main eventer, and if Tony Khan thinks he is, then he really does need to lay off that white powder! Darby clearly thinks dressing like a school shooter makes him edgy, but he can't wrestle, is awful at promos, and I don't care if he had Jesus Christ himself mentoring him, you cannot polish a turd!
meh
nah
Jim Cornette was right
Yes he was
Let Darby do Darby, Tony and sting has nothing to do with the spots Darby chooses so…
You mean the guy who runs the show and owns the company doesn’t have anything to do with the spots his wrestlers choose to do ?? Tony Kahn has everything to do with EVERY spot his wrestlers do.
Honestly I do not know why AEW just allow or try to use these kind of dangerous moves to entertain people. Please as an audience of Wrestling I would love to have a match with a lot of technique rather than dying themselves like that
I can’t comment on the product as a whole because I don’t watch it, but I feel like they go hardcore a lot anytime an AEW clip is recommended to me lol
No chance it was real glass.
Yeah his back bleeding was fake blood
Thats not real glass hed be shredded. Looks like fake glass to me

New Generation? Please. I’ve been watching wrestling for over 25 years. Nobody is complaining over pronouns stop being butt hurt cause I’d prefer a wrestler doesn’t almost severely injure themselves like the history that AEW has in the past.

AEW wrestlers work hard.

Probably because people realize that those moves are actually bad for wrestler's health. For example, the Hardys. Lol
Idk how Jeff Hardy lasted as long as he did doing the things he did to his body, but I don’t recall Jeff ever going through real glass
