The death penalty is just a cop-out to escape punishment. They will die in a few seconds and then leave this world peacefully, which is not a suitable punishment. Life in prison or my personal preference to****ture would be much better, but unfortunately, to***ture is deemed a crime against humanity, but it really should be reserved for sadistic criminals like Rowland.

“Will forever be broken”……that is how my family is after the murder of my ex husband. He suffered for nine months in the hospital after being shot before he succumbed to his injuries. The shooter is serving 28 years for 2nd degree murder. Unfortunately the fact that a criminal is put behind bars does not stop the sense of loss and suffering the victim’s family will forever feel. God bless this family and I pray for their healing.

This monster was already caught, he was out on bail for another kidnapping yet he thought a good idea was to escalate his violence by killing?! Then to run around trying to withdraw money as if he wasn’t caught doing the same thing before, and not even clean up the blood properly having his girlfriend and her child get in a bloody car??? I have a 23 year old daughter and I just "TRIED" to imagine the pain this woman is going through because of the way her daughter was taken but my mind won't go there it just can't process something so traumatic and disturbing 💔
How can he do this?! She got into the wrong car, thinking it was her uber driver?! This man deserves the death penalty in an electric chair, with over 100 stab wounds all over. I don't get into these cars without a weapon. Stunt gun with sharp blades, or a gun....he killed her for $35?! Well, that's all his life is worth. I pray, he has nightmares of his torture killing every night. And, never has a night's rest.
My heart is breaking for her family!! I can’t even imagine what it was like for them to sit through this trial and listen to all of the horrible things he did to her. And his comment at the end!! He thinks LE should have looked for the real killer!! Maybe he and OJ could go on a trek together to find the “real killers”. I attended USC..there are secure cars run by the college to take her home..plus there's alot of police security down in that neighborhood.

So sad. Her death was senseless violence by a Man towards a Woman. The defendant ambushed her, attacked her without warning, stabbed her over 100 times, she's a woman unable to defend herself, nobody to help her, he took advantage of that and brutally killed her, dumped her body in the woods, then tried to steal money from her bank account and sell her phone. The list goes on. The damage is permanent and irreversible. Rest in Peace Samantha.

It is very difficult to lose a child, they are like a part of your heart and your soul. And to know that they suffered is lifelong trauma.
I heard that mother forever carries the cells of her child either in her heart or brain. Both of these organs contain woman’s child’s cells-one of them forever, the other for 30 years.
This is heartbreaking I can’t imagine the pain that family are going through I always think of my own children when I hear things like this and want to hold them close forever

Samantha looks just like her mommy, ugh so many prayers for this mother, father and the rest of the family and friends. I can guarantee her loved ones were their with her and they helped her cross over. Samantha is definitely with them, She’s probably so incredibly proud of them for all they’ve endured. My heart aches for them. I live in hamilton, right next to samanthas hometown, and I see her picture all the time at pizza places , bagel places, deli’s exc, her picture along with a little container for people to donate change/money for something done in her name, it’s really sad to have to learn about her in this way, i wish a would have known her in her life but it’s a little reminder she’s everywhere, watching over her family and friends. I wish there was something I could do to make them feel better , this is a loss and a grief no person should ever have to feel.
Parents that have to bury a child, there’s nothing else worse on this Earth. God bless you and give your family strength forever.

This was such an unspeakably brutal crime, why am I only hearing about it now? The national media gave this story little to no coverage.
I totally cried when I saw this.... as a parent..... you can't not cry. And to watch this animal (no offense meant to animals) sit there with no emotion..... makes me believe this is NOT his first victim. This poor family.

Unlike Nathaniel Rowland, the killer Troy Brownlow had ties to the victim’s family and it happened at the victim’s home. Mr. Rowland has been sentenced to life in prison without parole, but Mr. Brownlow was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 25 years.
I don't have many loving family members. Whoever's behind mom, the hand with the thumb constantly reminding mom that she's there for her, really spoke to me.
As a Mom I don't know how she is enduring the way that her child was taken from her he and his Mom or some evil ass people for her to stand up and say that he is a good boy is crazy she didn't even say sorry I was so glad that the judge made her shut the Hell up he is an awesome Judge Rip Samantha!💕

I was glad to see this mom pull herself together to make a few statements. She's a whiner and needs psychological help. What I don't think these parents understand is that this was rage, sexual sadism, and the guy is literally a psychopath with no remorse and he will never have remorse. As well, if anyone thinks this is the first time he has killed, they are sadly mistaken.
