      Yeah it's pretty weird how common it is for these things to happen with uber and lyft. Because women don't simply look at the plate or ask the drivers name. I literally stopped and was checking my phone when some 90 pound girl not only jumped in my back seat. She argued that I WAS her uber. I worked for a limo company in Las Vegas for years and I will tell you that (at least in Vegas) cabs and limos are extremely safe. Everyone goes through background checks and they are followed on GPS by dispatch. Uber and Lyft however are a gamble. They don’t have any safety regulations. Furthermore, because they aren’t driving marked cars, situations in which you may get into the wrong car are very common and in this case, resulted in a heinous murder. I would not suggest using those services (Uber and Lyft).

Of course nothing is 100% fool proof, but the drivers for lyft and uber are there to make money, not commit a crime against their passengers. Not trying to come across as preaching to you here, but there always chance we can get hit and killed by driving a car or somehow end up dying from Covid. Living in fear is no way to live. Unfortunately nothing is 100% safe n secure in life. Wether you drive yourself (car crash can happen) taking uber/lyft?, (imposters who like in this video attack n kill you at there chance, or even if matching matching on phone who knows how stable they are? There still strangers) taking airplane? (Crashing possibilities, health problem can occur from riding one) even walking out in public can be considered "risky" ppl could not pay attention hit ya when driving or creepos can threaten ya. I really struggled with this case because I couldn’t figure out WHY he committed this inhumane and brutal crime. However, your suggestion that he intended to rob Samantha makes sense to me, as the Five Points area in Columbia is a high crime area at night time due to the high volume of college students combined with the numerous bars in very close proximity to one another. This case will haunt me for years to come.

    When I was 23 I got into a car that I thought was a cab, but it wasn't. It was just some random guy driving a car that looked like a livery car. We drove half a block and an NYPD officer pulled him over because he had witnessed the driver illegally picking me up. That officer might have saved my life. Ever since then I always, ALWAYS check the license plate number of any car I'm taking to make sure it matches what the app says

  • @babyrenee6537
    @babyrenee6537 2 года назад +8

    Several other key pieces of evidence, first behavioral: when stopped or apprehended NR was, less than 24 hours after slaughtering SJ, right back trolling the Five Points area~driving around in BOLO vehicle, the murder scene itself. And~in order to again cont circling that same block more swiftly or efficiently~ repeating the very same illegal turn driving the wrong way onto the same one-way street (as had by then been viewed on video surveillance) when stopped.. With no ID, weed smoke billowing from his windows. Moreover the blood was still clearly visible in car following his half hearted effort to clean his bloodbath.
    Its further worth noting that, along with gf's eviction notice (that led LE to M. Howard, his unique murder weapon and numerous other incriminating items in her trash), also found in Impala was a handwritten 'to do' list. Writing which according to pros expert handwriting analyst matched known handwriting samples of NR and detailed as follows: "'Duck' tape whole body (presumably his imo); Gloves; Wear all black.." etc that are suggestive if not proof of premeditation. But when put with both bloody leather jacket and glove (found in trunk); its bloody mate, and weapon (recovered from gf's trash), certainly solves any 'mystery' as to how he managed to avoid injury or maintain the upper hand~given these protective measures and overwhelming advantage. Lastly it was for me esp surveillance video showing NR~just prior to heading for Bird Dog at closing time *as driver and sole occupant of Impala* as he rolled thru Five Points Wendys drive-up window..
    My own very amateur analysis: the sheer overkill of his horrific attack~for no monetary gain (and no SA); even his choice of victim (broke college student) imply violence vs robbery was the real true motive here. Coupled with the cavalier nonchalant nature of his killing spree.. in which he barely bothered to conceal his criminal, or clean-up activities (casually cleaning his weapon right in front of gf) nor even the crime scene itself.. strongly suggest this isn't his first rodeo, or murder. But had grown cocky, or lazy~or both. Hope LE's combing the rest of remote wooded area where SJs body was spied by hunters~90 mins from bar, just a mile from his fam home~and sifting thru unsolved murders in any other area he's ever lived.

Plus there's always pepper spray, stun guns, concealed carry, avoiding potentially dangerous situations, being aware of your surroundings, & learning realistic fighting skills. Respectively moving beyond the emotional and physical horror of what happened, after watching most of the testimony and all the closing arguments, it was incomprehensible ( to me) how unemotional he was in the duration of the trial, the impact statements, and his unemotional denial even after conviction.
