Came here after I watched the playthrough video, the results are magnificent. I truly admire your patience, I can't imagine myself sitting for two hours just to paint seven minis.
Sitting for that long is truly a skill lol!!! It’s a great down time hobby for me. I do a lot of go go go so that’s my time to breath. Thanks as always Yerel!! Glad you enjoyed it 😃😃👍
Thanks Raija I’m going to try that on the next stream this Monday. Join me if you can that would be sweet I’ll be giving that a shot. Thanks for the great idea 😃😃👍
Thanks for showing off these paints, Bairnt! I immediately ordered some and will use them on some of my Akarios ships, too :D And they'll also be amazing for some of the ISS Vanguard minis :)
I totally agree!!! I am planing on using them in future ships like ISS Vangurd maybe I think I have the sundrop so not sure if I’ll paint them we shall see. But yes these paints are sweet!!!
@@MeetMeAtTheTable I backed ISS Vanguard without Sundrop because I knew I would want to paint those awesome looking minis myself, and now I'll have these amazing colors to do so 😄
@@MeetMeAtTheTable yes, I'll drown in minis to paint at some point 😅 Especially with all the Tanares RPG stuff (was a birthday gift for my boyfriend who is our D&D GM), ISS Vanguard, Trudvang Legends and a lot more coming 😅 Will be a nice change to get Arydia and don't have to paint anything before playing, because all the minis come pre-painted 😄
my FLGS just got these in not too long ago. i was eyeballing them but had no idea how they actually looked. I'm going to have to grab some next time I go...some of the blues are awesome looking.
Nice. Yes these are really cool I want to get a few more. To paint up the rest of the ships. Great to hear from you AFatalPapercut. Thanks for watching gals I could help you see what the paints are like. 😃😃👍
I realize that it’s not funny for you, but I was laughing out loud during your spider encounter. I picked up a couple color shift paints after your stream with Liquitor Gaming and now I find myself buying a new color each time I visit my FLGS.
Hahahah!! Yes that was I think the highlight of the stream lol!!!! Yes those paints are amazing I’m having too much fun with them. Glad you enjoyed the stream!! Thanks 😃😃👍
Enjoyed the stream, I've been loving Akarios for years now (playtesting and 3d printing the minis, they give you the print files!). You should read Adrian Tchaikovsky's Children of time, an amazing book with a planet of evolved Spiders!!!!!
Hahahahah!!! I might have to stay away from that book lol! Glad you enjoyed the stream it was fun. Good to hear you like Akarios I’m excited to venture forth!! Thanks Andrew for the great comment and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
I really like these Turboshift paints. Getting some delivered later this week. Those enemy shields look awesome! I am going to try "Ground is Lava" color. It should be a redish shifting to orange/yellow maybe. Hoping it'll be more orange than red. How long did it take you to paint your ships? I just primed and painted 2 player ships today. It took me a lot longer than I thought it would. Started at 2pm, grabbed dinner out and such, but finished them around 8pm. So, probably 4 or 5 hours for 2 ships! And really, I only used 3 or 4 colors, plus a wash. Is that a pretty normal time? And last question, when you have a paint that doesn't have much opacity (it's not a wash, but just a weak paint maybe) what do you do? I'm almost wanting to just push them to the back and maybe only use them to shade other paints because even 3 layers, doesn't cover all the way. They are Vallejo paints, and about 5 years old now, if that matters.
Yes time the turbo dork paints are super cool!!! They are a little time consuming to apply cus they take like 4-6 coats to make them really happen. You will have to tell me what you think. Time is relative when it comes to painting. I usually get a mini done in about an 1 to 1 1/2 hours. But they are not super high quality. I also use contrast and army painter speed paints which paint and wash the mini at the same time. So that cuts down on paint time. Not sure if that helps or not. As for the older paints I would say it’s time for new ones. I don’t know the shelf life of Veliajo paints I have never used them sorry. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with. Great to hear from you and thanks for the great comment. Thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Great question TJ. The easiest way is leave them on the stand and prime them black, but if you want to prime them a different color you can leave on the stand and after everything is primed you could go back and prime the stands black again. Other wise you could us some sishkabob sticks and poster putty to attach them. Hope that helps I’ll mention it on my painting steam tonight. Thanks TJ for the great question. 😃😃👍
Yeah I’ll see if I can get it to work for the live stream tonight at 8:30pm central standard time you can take a look later if you want to see how it work and if I can get it to work lol!!! 😃😃👍

@@1AngelAlita wow Angel that’s a long time the most I do is at night for a few hours like I have been. You have quite the stamina!!! 😃😃👍

@@MeetMeAtTheTable I printed those ships in clear resin and added an led inside so the front sections glowed, it was a fun project
@@cyberleish that sounds amazing i might have to look into a 3 D printer. That sounds really cool to be able to do that.
@@MeetMeAtTheTable with a 3d printer we made 3d scenery and doors for everything in gloomhaven
That would add a ton of theme to that game I will have to definitely look into it

How did you prime these minis? I have no clue how to prime minis if they aren't already on bases
