    Your information and methodology worked perfectly on a HP 17Z-AK000. My only feedback is give some guidance on replacing the tape. The tape on my laptop had lost it's adhesive, so I used packing tape to rescuer the screen cable/connector to the new screen. Thank you!!!

    I find it unbelievable that the ENTIRE computer has to be disassemble to fix the lid hinge. Poor engineering, it my opinion. Bad plastic parts that make it easier to just buy a new computer is so wasteful. Thanks for the video, though!

      you would think that if one could design and build a laptop one could make a hinge that would work for more than 18 months

      Mine broke in a month! I’m moving away from HP entirely. They have too many issues.

    Thanks for the video. I used JB Weld Plastic Bonder and it seems to have made a very strong bond. I also loosened up the hinge tension so that the lid would close easier. I did have to trim off a section of the cover that goes over the lcd screen. I put a lot of the epoxy on, and it was causing the cover to not sit flush. This was causing it to catch on the lower section of the laptop when opening the lid. Now it is almost as good as new.

    At certain points of the video I was not able to see clearly what you were doing. I have the same issue currently with my laptop. I hope you can make another video showing the steps clearly. Thank you.

      Is there anyway to get around taking out the motherboard to replace the hinges and top cover? I’d love to avoid that step if possible

    The video is very helpful. One question. What is the epoxy or glue you are using?

    When you do a video on how to repair something it's not a good idea to speed through the most critical part of the repair, that being the hinge portion of the bracket and how to remove it and put it back on correctly

      You can always slow down the video.

      @@itftcomputers You can slow it down but the object of a video on how to do something is to make it easy for the viewer.

    What are the rings you are placing in the holes where screws go? Where do you get them and what size?

    Hello thanks for the video. I have a question: why do you take off the motherboard? Is it necessary? thanks

    • @jackieoliver8243
      @jackieoliver8243 Год назад

      No, the fan and heat sink are all that are necessary to come out, not the whole motherboard.

    A bit hard to see some things you are removing due to the camera being so close up, should back off a bit to show better detail. thanks though for the tear down.

    the most important part is missing it is puling cables through hinges and fixing them on board.
