Thanks for showing this, it gave me good idea of what I would find when I took my laptop apart. I found broken female screw inserts on both the top and bottom covers, fixed them all with strong super glue all around, loosened the hinges a little bit and rebuilt it. Now its like new again.

Really enjoyed your video!! It was exactly what I needed (this one and the one on how to open the hp notebook) unfortunately I did not find your video before I opened up my notebook! I did not know there were screws under the rubber bumper pieces and consequently I broke some things. I believe you mention that those pieces that broke off that were attached to the hinges could be replaced. Where would I find them?

Very nice and detailed tutorial! I am going to fix this same model in a similar fashion. Most of the nuts have been stripped away from the back cover, but instead of buying a new back cover, I will try to re install them with some qbond. Unfortunately the hinges are broken so I had to get new ones. And the hinge covers too.

That looks easy but then l think it takes a few watches to see how you do it before sitting down to do it. one side of my laptop is broken so l bought from Amazon the correct hinges so l forgot to include screws. Do I have to buy anything else that l may have left out to buy Thanksthoroughly enjoyed watching you do it step by step, and yes very detailed tutorial? So when l am game to have a go at fixing my hp laptop l will do another comment when finished. l see you replaced the back cover and replaced it ratherr then buying another cover can l use a bonding instead

Thank you Anand Baid. I have learned that I have at least two stripped female screws, the plastic to the bottom frame where the female goes has broken off, so that the hinge may not stay secure to the bottom side, the non-display side. So perhaps I should look for a video, if there's one out there which shows how to fix or come up with something to keep the hinge secured to the bottom plastic bed where the motherboard and the fan goes.
I'm back to report how it's going so far. I have figured out a way to put back the metal rings that got ripped off the plastic case. I am simply using a soldering iron and melting plastic to form a mound and then I sink the screw hole with a screw in place so that it is held down after the plastic cools down and then I sand it down around the edges. But as you can imagine, it's taking lots of incredible patience and trial and error. I almost got it. The hinges are in place. I lost a few screws along the way. I ordered a set on Amazon. I also lost the power connector. So I got to order that on eBay.

Bro I have the exact same problem with my laptop. The screws got ripped off and the hinge is bent. i think its a common problem among hp laptops. do u have any idea where to get the hinges online? All service centres in my area are either closed or dont have the parts

One more question: One of the screws on back portion is just spining. Neither coming out, nor tighten. It's under the rubber on the right side which close to hinge. May I take the bottom part while that screw in place?
It means that your screw holder is damaged. yes you can remove it while taking the bottom part out.
Bhaiya mera bhi same laptop hai hp ka jo aapke pass hai or mera left wala hinge toot gaya hai or repair karne wala bol raha hai pura frame banega 2000 main kuch suggestion de skte hain kya

Sir, I am using Dell inspiron 15 5580 laptop. one hinge and the black bezel has came out but the back cover is totally fine. But the guy in repair shop is saying to replace the total backcover and all hinges including the bezel, i think u can understand kya replace karne ke liye bole rhe he. Sir is it necessary to replace total back cover as it is so costly?
Yes it is necessary to replace the whole back cover. kindly ask him to loosen the hinges.

No. It is possible to fix the nuts with a mix of baking soda and super glue. That works.
Indian repair means simply replace... So sadly these inefficient service center will ask you to buy a new panel for even one screw issue

One year ago my laptop hinges is broken & I go to hp store for hinges reapir, & I have three thausend two hundred rupees for Hinge repair cosse it, The issue is Hinges is hard & so tite . So I am asked hp 15 bs series is a Very Very bad product.

Yes indeed, these cheap plastic frames break with time and even for one screw slot broken we need to change entire panel which costs 3-4 k

@@sanketgupta5271 yes why not if it compatible with your model go ahead... You can do it yourself of get it done by some shop giving 2-3 hundred rupees.
In my case i ordered the original one from acer it's costing me 4k for complete panel and 300 service charge
I have an aluminium 15inch x360, the flimsy brass inserts are embedded in plastic at each corner of the screen,they broke out and cracked the digitiser ,will never buy HP again .
