that’s very close to what i did…unfortunate crash totaled my 2012 SI sedan. so i searched all over for 2015 SI coupe w low mileage…100% worth it!!!! Great car! Looks beautiful and drives awesome! true SI have VTEC!!
3 years ago, I really needed a car and I was really adamant on getting a 9th gen Civic Si. They hold their value compared to its competitors, so I couldn't find one within my budget/mileage. I ended up discovering it's Korean counterpart for a really good deal. 2016 Kia Forte Koup SX with 67,000km for $14,995. Had a manual and the specs were very similar at 201hp 195ft/lb. It's a hidden gem. It was such a fun and zippy car. Only downside was that the manual option loses out on the luxuries that the automatic SX got which was very unfortunate. Still; I really enjoyed the car for the time I had it. Definitely a hidden gem
Could never understand the hate for this generation. I love the 2012-2015. My favorite generation the more modern Civics. Looks much better than the 8th Gen. I will admit I was a bit put off at first about it because it only had VTEC on the intake valves and the exhaust manifold is cast with the head, but I quickly got over that. Still a great K series and the last of the true K series.
Back when the Civic was the proper size & footprint. The new Civic is too large. As large as the Accord used to be. I miss the days of true subcompact & compact class vehicles in the USA.
My buddy and I had RSX’s, I still have one. And we always thought this model and design was possibly the next gen RSX but they made it the Civic and discontinued the DC5 RSX.
I just bought a 2012 Si sedan un modded at 58k miles, and I love it. The body style isn't like the 10th gen, which I like more, but I didn't buy the car for the body style. The only thing I'm watching for is the vtc actuator spring, which I won't replace until I do a valve adjustment. I love this car!
Nice video! I own this exact same year and colour absolutely love it those who hate it really should drive it. Looks are definitely controversial but personally love them!
Have had mine for 3 years and i would say its a very fun car, yes it can be a little slow at times but when youre pushing the car thats when the fun kicks in, I have a 13 hfp coupe in black and i would say the styling on it is super slick, the car looking from a side view is so nice to look at, and last but not the least, the potential these k24’s have is insane, im planning to supercharge mine in the future
I have the same year to the basic bare bone button radio but honestly all these cars need are a little love to wake them up and make em a super fun daily driver ,short shifter intake exhaust with some coilovers and boom you got yourself a nice crotch rocket to get to work in 135,000 miles here 🎉
I own a 12 Si coupe and love it as a daily driver. I can put it in 4th at like 20mph and punch it and the car will move. Doesn't have the top end of the 8th gen si or rsx type s though i admit that. But around town in traffic its fun as hell to rip on it
Bought the 2013 brand new, still have it an has around 188K miles. Nothing ever done except regular maintenance, oil changes, tune ups, batteries, tires, break pads, replace serpentine belt as preventive maintenance and thats it. Engine still does not burn oil.
I know wear on touch points varies on a lot of things but my 2012 si is at 127k miles and all the touch points look brand new still. Only thing that didn't last is the driver floor mat, there's a hole where the heel goes on the clutch but it all depends on how you take care of things I guess 🤷 nice review though!
Excellent motor, good transmission, pretty good oem suspension, fairly good mpgs, and all around great DD car. Honestly the worst part is the fog lights are rock catchers. Think I went through a dozen sets in my 200k of driving one. Never had any problems except one bad rear caliper and a bad sunroof seal.
Did you try to use the Bluetooth? I love my si bought it in 2013 brand new at dealer close out for 19k with .09% financing that said you really nailed down a perfect review of all the pros and cons. Only thing you missed was how dismal the Bluetooth is
I bought the preface lift (same front bumper as shown in the video) LX coupe version with the auto (not CVT) and its been a perfect daily driver. Toss some coil overs, 18x8.5 rims & sticky tires to dial in that fitment. Also LED headlight bulbs & apple car play to keep up with today's cars and its good to go for many many years. since the car was bought in 2012 the only problem its had was the air intake hose ripped which is common after certain time on these models which was a $50 replacement part from the dealer. at the end of the day its a 2 Door Honda that is insanely reliable and fun to driver around I couldn't recommend this car more especially the SI model.
I absolutely love this gen coupe. I wish it was sold in the EU market and the ones that were imported werent type r priced (yes, you could buy a same gen type r for half the price, a fk2 for around the same price and an fk8 for a just bit more)
let be honest, 8th gen had lots of plastic too, not to mention paint was crap. This car is in fact a more refined version of the 8th gen, thats why u dont feel you are on a kart (that explain your steering and road feel comment).
I have a 2012 ex coupe and it was my first car. I love it to death. BUT i did want to learn manual. So about 8 months after i buy my 2012 ex coupe i buy a 2013 si coupe. Boy oh boy i REALLY love that thing. K&n typhoon air intake rv6 downpipe and greddy catback exhaust. Sounds great gets up to speed pretty quick any other car around my spec its always a fair and fun race and i love taking her down fun twisty roads. The ex has 260k and my si just hit 170k just a few days ago. If you're someone who loves Honda or wants a fub daily that'll never and i truly mean never ever let you down or leave you stranded get a 9th gen. Si or not car guy or not get that 9th gen. Both are black too look almost the same just the paint on the ex is faded on top. Bought the si in Arkansas and drove it back to Oklahoma barely knowing how to drive it. Ill never forget that day man. Anyways im done yapping but if anyone wants to learn standard or just wants something fun that'll last a life time get a 9th gen 👍
Looks are a major factor in why the 9th generation Civic was hated. That's why they quickly changed the design for the 2013 model year. However the build quality was much better than the contemporary Corolla (the 10th generation), although TBH, the Corolla was an older design (it came out in 2008 for the 2009 model year in North America).
I have owned my 2013 Si for 8 years and put 100k on it. I have had 0 issues other than regular maintenance. The K24 is one of the best engines ever made. It might not be the best ride quality and sloppy shifter, it's highly reliable. If you go for 9th gen- go with a 2015. I would also consider the 2.5 jetta.
i think they did make it.. im moving to bulgaria soon and have found something called the honda legend???? its like a bigger civic but acura interior. its pretty neat
@@BernonCars It's kind of a one-off in the US, but the same with the Acura Legend. It actually is a bit different than an Accord due to a longitudinally-mounted v6, but it is a very nice car. It blew my mind that they bothered to make the engine longitudinal but didn't make it RWD.
gearing is longer. 1st and 2nd gear are close to the z3 from the 8th gen. From there its longer for better gas consumption. 70mph im under 3k, on the z3 transmission 70mph you already at 3k. They are more evenly spaced out basically
This generation is weighed down by its lack of polish and refinement. There's nothing necessarily bad about it but it definitely noticeably cheaper than generations before and after.
Ive had my 2012 RR FG4 since 2019. I like the design over the 2014-2015 model. Has no one noticed that FG4 concept had an HDMI exhaust like on the 10th gen Si? Also the 11th gen Civic Si is ‘bland’ like the 9th gen, but Honda isnt batting an eye this time? The 9th gen is that odd looking car that is fun. For example the new WRX and M2.
Honestly though, all of your gripes in the video are common Honda problems. My 8th gen had wear on the shifter, tons of plastic, and the body paint and interior touch points faded. My wife's Pilot does all the same things. If it runs good, who cares? It's more than 10 years old now so you may as well enjoy it for what it is. Been looking for a 12-15 Si to drive in the winter again for when I have the Mustang put away- they are pleasant to drive even in bad weather and make enough power to not get bored with it.
I just bought a 2007 6-6 Accord. How can I modify it to make it a little bit more engaging to drive? So far my biggest issues are it's quite floaty on the highway. Some people say just doing sway bars improves it a lot you don't even have to do the suspension is that true? And I'm not sure if I should do anything for power if that's spending too much money for two little gains?
If you want to retain the comfort and dampening of the stock suspension, upgraded sway bars will help a lot, little stiffer in the rear than the front especially with that V6 and you'll be bookin around corners while still being comfortable over bumps Coils are expensive if you want somewhat comfortable ones, if you do rip it around or touge/track it often, coils are great. Regardless getting sway bars would be beneficial for both situations
The 2012 sedan was a sin. And the 2012 coupe and sedan had the same excessive oil burning issues the early 2nd gen tsx had. 2013+ are perfect daily drivers that refuse to die
i feel like the 8th gen is the last true si had vtec on intake and exhuast as the 9th gen only had it on exhuast i believe. I have a 10th gen with the 1.5 and there is so much i have to do to make good power reliably
The 9th gen Civic's are the ones I considered a beta car. Thanks to all the complaints Honda keep making redesign changes each model year until it reach its final form on the 2014-15 model year. Thats why I went with a 2015 Civic Si to replace my 2010 RX-8 😊
@@BernonCars So I got into an accident with my RX-8,but it was still drivable. I was at 110,000 miles with the original engine but the cost to fix the body was over $10,000 😅...insurance valued the current state of my car at $10,000 also. So they made me make a choice...fix the car or they can send me a $10,000 check...I chose the check. My wife says I can get any car I want as long as I have back seats that can sit the kids...so on September 2019 I got a 2015 Civic Si Coupe FG4 for $16,000 at 32K miles 😅
EP3 got a ton of hate, first because the k series was unproven on release, the looks, and the non real vtec. Id also add that this car suffers from the "non real vtec" with no exhaust cam change over. Also people dont like these k24s because the head is not easy to boost unlike the other k series models. As stock, these are great cars but theres a reason why people prefer the 8th gen over the 9th
I never knew a K24 existed in Civics. i have an EP3 with a K24a2 swapped (04-08 Acura TSX Engine). You 1000% correct. To add to the "non real VTEC" most Honda K-series ONLY have VTEC on one cam. The K24a2, K20Z3 (8th gen civic), and K20A2 (1st generation RSX Type-S) have "True VTEC" on both cams. This means single cam VTEC has a lower redline (RPM) than dual cam VTEC. Higher RPMs are what most Honda enthusiasts want. Also the older K-Series are simpler to modify and tune.
@user-te8qh1gf3j Nice, I had an EP3 and the k20a3 was just not the right engine for an Si. K24a2 would have been great if not just a k20a2, but honda wanted to keep up the sales of the RSX-S. Sad we didn't get the type r of that model year
Instead of having exhaust vtec it just has one giant exhaust lobe. not good for high end power, but its a goddamn k24. you gotta do everything to a k24 before it makes power past 7500 anyways
Tbh,the 12 sedan is highly sought after now. Good luck finding them cheap. Or completely ran through. The 12 sedan will be worth far more in the future. It has the barebones to make it a drivers car. The 13-15 sedan are identical outside. The 14/15 was slower and heavier. The 12 sedan is unique 1 year only . Only civic Si to ever exist as a 1 year only. The 12 sedan is the fastest of that gen. Throw on the rsb from the 14/15 and it'll definitely make it more interesting. Add a snail to the motor and you can daily it as a 500 HP car..... simplicity is the best. The orange seats of the 14/15 are hard to keep clean and not everyone cared for them. The touchscreen radio was junk. 12 FB6 ftw
Anyone have a advice for some nice mods I can put on a 2012 Civic LX 1.8L Manual? I know it can't be fast but I wanna just add a few quality of life additions to make it more fun.
New radio with the modern functions is nice, also in terms of handling, could do sway bars, maybe lowering springs, and really anything that makes you feel like its your personality haha
it gets hate because it looks just like a regular civic and isnt much faster than one, the average person doesnt care as much about handling and car feels as they do clout and speed which the civic has neither of without extensive mods most people dont want to go out of their way to do
It's not the Civic that should be getting hate. The Civic has always been a decent looking car. It's FWD that everyone should be hating. But yall just eat up the non-optimal performance configuration (FWD, 4cylinder and V6 engines, two floor pedals) like a bunch of rats being led by the Pied Piper. SMFH The Civic would probably be the most popular tuning platform in the 100+ year history of automobiles, if it had been RWD.
@@BernonCars Indeed I'm angry. LOL....I'm probably more angry with consumers who blindly buy this isht. Every tuner should be angry that Honda refuses to make RWD cars. Just like they should be angry that the R35 has no manual transmission option and has a V6 (when they've ran an I6 in the GTR for the past 30 years). LOL. Honda made two RWD models the last 30 years and both models are glorious. I will admit that one of my cars is FWD....a 2012 Yaris 2dr hatch 5spd. It reminds me VERY much of another prior Honda model, the 2nd gen CRX Si. I love it for commuting. But my GS430, Frontier, 240Z and DRZ400 are all RWD. I'd buy a first gen NSX in a heartbeat and (again more angry LOL) I HATE V6 engines in sports cars. LOL.
@@BernonCars Indeed. I mean if anyone can name me ONE supercar that is FWD and that can keep up with RWD cars, I'll listen. But there really isn't one. As well, the amount of supercars with V6 engines are in the single digits. I don't really consider the R35 a supercar more so than it is a computerized GT car on wheels to compensate for enthusiastic ineptitude.
The modern Si makes much more power than this across the rev range because of the turbo and torque curve, but it is still similar in a lot of ways. Similarly cheap!
This is a car that shouldn't cost more than $5-6k and yet where I live, Puerto Rico, 8th gen examples especially in 4-door are listing for upwards of $9-11k, and that's just a shame. Don't even get me started on how much the '14-16 examples are listed for because I might cause someone an anuerism... I just saw the listing, it must be a joke, but it is DC after all. Shame...
Ok I watched the video and I remember why I hated this car. It’s just ugly 😒 The 8th gen was futuristic and fun. This 9th gen just looked like a Walmart Great Value version of that 8th gen. And when you consider that the BRZ and FRS was debuting at the same time, it is no wonder this thing was hated.
They are horrible and slow, dont get one. I saying this in hope people keep hating this car so it goes down in value. I wanna get one so bad as a project to boost. K series engine are just too good to pass up.
Because it's that 10ish year old dated enthiast car that looks old but not retro and nostalgic yet same way 80s and 90s cars were from the 90s to the early 2010s.
@ I’m probably not the most qualified since I’ve never actually driven one, but, I owned a 7th gen Civic EX Coupe with a 5 speed and a 8th gen Civic Si Coupe. I bought both used and cheap and both were an absolute blast. When I came time to move on from the 8th gen Si, I wanted another Si but something about the 9th really turned me off. I think it was mostly the design and how cheap the interior looked. Oh and the fact that they lowered the redline. When it was all said and done, I ended up just getting an Acura TSX with a 6 speed, a car that I loved and cherished before it was totaled. But my gripe doesn’t end with the 9th gen. I also hate the 10th gen and the current gen. The 9th gen was a product of a recession so I don’t blame Honda too much, but adding a turbo to the 10th and 11th, to me, was unforgivable lol. I guess objectively speaking the 2012 Si wasn’t a bad car. It still had a K series engine and a slick 6 speed after all, but it’s just missing a bit of edge. Full disclaimer, I haven’t watched the video yet, it’s saved to my “watch later” folder so don’t flame me too hard lol.
@@BernonCars No one truely buys a Honda for interior quality. The main 2 short answers are the Body and engine. To the regular everyday person, the base models would do and there were way better options for performance sedans and coupes at this time. No real need for the SI. To car enthusiasts (mostly the "Honda Boys") it's the engine performance and potential is a hard no body style not favorable. short answer: 8th & 9th Civic are much heavier than glory day Hondas/Acuras (90s - 2004). Engine is not the easiest to swap/modify due to design & ecu, and it does not have i-VTEC on both engine cams(
It's uglier. The* interior is cheaper and inferior. Engine is worse. Absolutely the second worse Si we've ever gotten in the US. This is DOWNMARKET from the 8th Gen. I'd know. I've owned one. Nice try at gaslighting.
@user-te8qh1gf3j i personally think the 8th gen sedan civic is one of the nicest body styles of civic made, I love the tail lights, and it looks more futuristic and cleaner than the following years. The 9th gen is horrible. In terms of the coupe they all look terrible to me
@@user-te8qh1gf3j also not sure what you mean by sharp lines, the 8th gen has much sharper lines than 9th gen. Everything was kind of smoothed out in 9th gen makes it look like a bubble
@@colouredbills4869 the face and back of the 9th gen has more details and are more aggressive looking. The line details on the 9th gen are way less rounded (grille, headlamps, tail lights, bumpers, and a bit more 3D. Not as smooth. They both have that egg shape.

I will admit I was a bit put off at first about it because it only had VTEC on the intake valves and the exhaust manifold is cast with the head, but I quickly got over that. Still a great K series and the last of the true K series.
Yeah they are still great! More character than the 1.5!
I love mine. I have a 2015 si coupe with a k20z3 headswap and rsx type s oil pump. its the way the 9th gen should've came to begin with.
Ohh woww nice setup! Torquey I'm sure
I love my 2012 LX. Its manual and clean with low miles so im happy. Interior is cheap hard plastic but i love it. Its like a fun go kart
Nice!! Best when they're simple!
Back when the Civic was the proper size & footprint. The new Civic is too large. As large as the Accord used to be. I miss the days of true subcompact & compact class vehicles in the USA.
Right, it's a shame
My buddy and I had RSX’s, I still have one. And we always thought this model and design was possibly the next gen RSX but they made it the Civic and discontinued the DC5 RSX.
I like the RSX! Would be cool to see a successor
Guess I got lucky, had a 2012 civic si coupe with a sweet sweet hfp body kit. Never burned oil once
That's great news!
Good!! I'm glad you enjoy it! They're fun!!
Nice video! I own this exact same year and colour absolutely love it those who hate it really should drive it. Looks are definitely controversial but personally love them!
Thank you! Ohh nice a twin car haha. Yeah I fw them!
Nice supercharge will be real fun 😆😆
This was a really good video! It felt genuine and the review was really fair. Keep it up man
Thank you very much! Appreciate it!
I have the same year to the basic bare bone button radio but honestly all these cars need are a little love to wake them up and make em a super fun daily driver ,short shifter intake exhaust with some coilovers and boom you got yourself a nice crotch rocket to get to work in 135,000 miles here 🎉
Yeah right just a little bit goes a long way with them too, perfect setup
I own a 12 Si coupe and love it as a daily driver. I can put it in 4th at like 20mph and punch it and the car will move. Doesn't have the top end of the 8th gen si or rsx type s though i admit that. But around town in traffic its fun as hell to rip on it
Nice! Yeah it's not too bad!!
It literally has more power than the RSX type s. same engine too.
@@thomasengel1459 not same engine its a K24 instead of K20 that revs much lower but has more torque
Bought the 2013 brand new, still have it an has around 188K miles. Nothing ever done except regular maintenance, oil changes, tune ups, batteries, tires, break pads, replace serpentine belt as preventive maintenance and thats it. Engine still does not burn oil.
Nice! What a trooper
Drove a 2015 Ex before buying a 17 Si. I miss the interior of the 9th gen. So much more room
Yeahhh the 9th Gen was the last good good Civic
I know wear on touch points varies on a lot of things but my 2012 si is at 127k miles and all the touch points look brand new still. Only thing that didn't last is the driver floor mat, there's a hole where the heel goes on the clutch but it all depends on how you take care of things I guess 🤷 nice review though!
That's good! Yeah it just depends! It's never happened on my cars haha
Yeahhh I had the same problem with my Accord's fogs. Smh lol.
They are great daily's!!
Did you try to use the Bluetooth? I love my si bought it in 2013 brand new at dealer close out for 19k with .09% financing that said you really nailed down a perfect review of all the pros and cons. Only thing you missed was how dismal the Bluetooth is
Yeahhh I know how those Honda bluetooths were back then LOL, annoying!! I appreciate you watching!
That's great I'm glad its been treating you well!
I absolutely love this gen coupe. I wish it was sold in the EU market and the ones that were imported werent type r priced (yes, you could buy a same gen type r for half the price, a fk2 for around the same price and an fk8 for a just bit more)
They're sweet!! That's a shame. I hope you can drive one one day
Still very much have a soft spot for this exact generation of civics
They are great!
let be honest, 8th gen had lots of plastic too, not to mention paint was crap. This car is in fact a more refined version of the 8th gen, thats why u dont feel you are on a kart (that explain your steering and road feel comment).
Yeah it makes sense, it really does just feel like an 8.5.5 gen lol
They were mad that it was "heavier" but corners better than older models lol.
@@GokuTheHusky it's funny people just love being mad 😂
The official car of YN in the hood.
LMAO 🤣
I don’t see the hate towards the 2012 model. It seems fine with its looks. Really disappointed they dropped the 5 speed automatic after 2013.
Right, I don't get it either 🤷🏽♂️. Yeahhh it is a shame they moved to CVT's
Haha yeah man they're the best to learn on!! So easy
All very true!
i have a 2014 si with a kraftwerks sc on it and its sm fun
That sounds like a blast man
I have a 2012 si coupe (fg4) with 350 000 km and shes still kicking hard! Burns oil but other than that its amazing
Cheap interior but still a great car.
It's a cheap car
A cheap great car haha
I have owned my 2013 Si for 8 years and put 100k on it. I have had 0 issues other than regular maintenance. The K24 is one of the best engines ever made. It might not be the best ride quality and sloppy shifter, it's highly reliable. If you go for 9th gen- go with a 2015. I would also consider the 2.5 jetta.
Nice that's great! Yeah you can't go wrong with one!
i think they did make it.. im moving to bulgaria soon and have found something called the honda legend???? its like a bigger civic but acura interior. its pretty neat
They do! It's like an Accord!
@@BernonCars It's kind of a one-off in the US, but the same with the Acura Legend. It actually is a bit different than an Accord due to a longitudinally-mounted v6, but it is a very nice car. It blew my mind that they bothered to make the engine longitudinal but didn't make it RWD.
yeah to me it just doesnt look like an accord ive seen looks like a stretched civic from this gen lol...some are also awd. pretty neat
@@billspangler2685 Same with the vigor from the 90s with a longitudinal fwd inline 5 for some reason
I love my 2012 civic si(fg4). My only complaint is the gearing is super short lol.
I noticed that! Haha
@ first gear? What first gear😂
Reminded me of my Tacoma 🤣
gearing is longer. 1st and 2nd gear are close to the z3 from the 8th gen. From there its longer for better gas consumption. 70mph im under 3k, on the z3 transmission 70mph you already at 3k. They are more evenly spaced out basically
bro I can be driving in a parking lot and be in 3rd gear its crazy lol, I am almost never in 1st or 2nd
This generation is weighed down by its lack of polish and refinement. There's nothing necessarily bad about it but it definitely noticeably cheaper than generations before and after.
Yeah I agree with you
Ive had my 2012 RR FG4 since 2019.
I noticed it!! That's funny lol.
Yeahh it's a real shame! New cars are not good
The only issue I’ve heard
with the coupe is the looks. But for right price id get one despite me also absolutely hating how it looks
Yeah haha, if the price is right I guess LOL
Honestly though, all of your gripes in the video are common Honda problems. My 8th gen had wear on the shifter, tons of plastic, and the body paint and interior touch points faded. My wife's Pilot does all the same things. If it runs good, who cares? It's more than 10 years old now so you may as well enjoy it for what it is. Been looking for a 12-15 Si to drive in the winter again for when I have the Mustang put away- they are pleasant to drive even in bad weather and make enough power to not get bored with it.
Oh yeah, and none are a real bother to me! Part of the charm haha
Is the person, Noel, that owns this car wear rings on his hands? That would explain the wear on the shifter and the steering wheel.
That's normal thumb oils that happens with all cars.
That's not a bad shout! I believe he does haha
Oooo very nice! Add an intake, makes it sound great LOL. Front and Rear sway bars will make a huuuge difference!
If you want to retain the comfort and dampening of the stock suspension, upgraded sway bars will help a lot, little stiffer in the rear than the front especially with that V6 and you'll be bookin around corners while still being comfortable over bumps
Coils are expensive if you want somewhat comfortable ones, if you do rip it around or touge/track it often, coils are great. Regardless getting sway bars would be beneficial for both situations
I have one as well just leave it stock you’ll appreciate how it rides on the highway it’s amazing.
@@lunchonthehood5675 these cars are bred for the corners though! Haha
That's crazy. Bro has the exact jacket 🧥 as me.
No wayyyy lmao
SI gets hate? News to me
It was news to me too!
The 2012 sedan was a sin. And the 2012 coupe and sedan had the same excessive oil burning issues the early 2nd gen tsx had. 2013+ are perfect daily drivers that refuse to die
Ahhh, yeah facelift is the way to go haha
Dude this is when the tsunami hit the factories in Japan.
Shiiittt
i feel like the 8th gen is the last true si had vtec on intake and exhuast as the 9th gen only had it on exhuast i believe. I have a 10th gen with the 1.5 and there is so much i have to do to make good power reliably
Yeahhh thats a good point. I gotta review an 8th gen!
The 9th gen Civic's are the ones I considered a beta car. Thanks to all the complaints Honda keep making redesign changes each model year until it reach its final form on the 2014-15 model year.
Thats why I went with a 2015 Civic Si to replace my 2010 RX-8 😊
Interesting trade!! I like the 14-15's too
@@BernonCars So I got into an accident with my RX-8,but it was still drivable.
Sad we didn't get the type r of that model year
Good points! The VTEC is a big one
Instead of having exhaust vtec it just has one giant exhaust lobe. not good for high end power, but its a goddamn k24. you gotta do everything to a k24 before it makes power past 7500 anyways
yesss hate on them MORE i wanna buy a nice one for sub-$5k
One day 😂
Tbh,the 12 sedan is highly sought after now.
12 FB6 ftw
Oh yeah, curious to see how people like these when they're classic age haha.
I myself quite like the 9th Gen!
It's a nice car
Right!
I like your style.
Thank you! 🙏🏾
The 2012 was bland wasn’t very sporty but the 14/15 is the best !!!!!
Makes sense!!
beast
💯
Now review an 8th gen Civic Si.
Last of the true Civic Si's with true VTEC on both intake and exhaust cams.
I wanna find one to review!! Soon soon! I agree. The new Si's aren't the same!
@BernonCars I own a full bolt on '06 Civic Si Fg2 Coupe.
Hondata and proper dyno tune makes all the difference. No rev hang..
Poor man's NSX/S2000 😊
True VTEC is the top reason Honda enthusiast don't look hard at this car.
It’s not the car that’s the problem, it’s the owners 😉
Ha 😂
Those doors piss me off being so square and tiny for a coupe
Ahhh yeahh
how do i contact noel?? thanks brother!
You can email me and then I'll get you in touch with him!
Where is the car being listed?
It's on Craigslist DC and Facebook Marketplace!
You know.......if you put a cosworth escort type double spoiler, with the center support, good fitment on the tires, this thing is bad a$$!
Interesting! Haha
This specific has always been my favorite. Looks way better than the 9th gen facelift
See, there's a car for everybody haha
And looks way worse than the 8th Gen
wait i thought you could drop cams and a bigger turbo in these and they are quick af. whats with the hate? (sorry didnt sit thru the video lol)
People just think they're junk!
it gets hate because it looks just like a regular civic and isnt much faster than one, the average person doesnt care as much about handling and car feels as they do clout and speed which the civic has neither of without extensive mods most people dont want to go out of their way to do
Makes sense! Its a shame
SMFH
The Civic would probably be the most popular tuning platform in the 100+ year history of automobiles, if it had been RWD.
LOL angry!
LOL.
It makes sense!! I certainly don't disagree
The new Si is great!
@ I owned one for a year and then traded for the integra. No regrets but I still recommend the Si
Shame...
LOL 🤷🏽♂️
Ok I watched the video and I remember why I hated this car. It’s just ugly 😒 The 8th gen was futuristic and fun. This 9th gen just looked like a Walmart Great Value version of that 8th gen. And when you consider that the BRZ and FRS was debuting at the same time, it is no wonder this thing was hated.
LOL yeah, what a shame
I have the same car end I have the same opinion.
Word interesting!
They are horrible and slow, dont get one.
I saying this in hope people keep hating this car so it goes down in value. I wanna get one so bad as a project to boost. K series engine are just too good to pass up.
LOL yeah! They suck! 🤣
Because it's that 10ish year old dated enthiast car that looks old but not retro and nostalgic yet same way 80s and 90s cars were from the 90s to the early 2010s.
Yeahhhh
The 2012 Si gets a lot of hate because it sucks... there I said it, someone had to lol.
Can someone explain why it sucks? Lol

Heheheh
@ 😂😂😂
you forget the 7th gen civic lol
2012 is bad 2013 is not bad
Interesting
2012 is the worst year. Feels cheap and ugly asf!
It's uglier. The* interior is cheaper and inferior. Engine is worse. Absolutely the second worse Si we've ever gotten in the US. This is DOWNMARKET from the 8th Gen. I'd know. I've owned one. Nice try at gaslighting.
@@MyerShift7 "gaslighting," sigh.
Its the ugliest body style of civic ever made
I think the 8th generation is uglier. This 9th generation just looks like the 8th gen with some sharp lines added. Still funny looking to me.
Lol
